How To Build A Skateboard Ramp.....out of cotton sheets????

- I've wanted to try this out for a while now, basically you can cover non synthetic sheets with a wet cement/ sand mix (50/50) and then put them on a frame. It turned out pretty good, really solid and not too heavy. It'd probably work best if you had a bit of metal at the bottom of the ramp, but this held out o.k for experimental purposes. I think this could work really well for a small mini ramp if you did it in sections. A concrete mini ramp which you could dismantle and reassemble would be pretty amazing I reckon.
This has to be one of the most creative stuff I've seen in a while.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
I'm going to try that with a ramp thats about 4 ft or 5ft wide. How did U get the angle of the ramp? Just an angle you liked, eyeball it?
yeah, just eyeballed it. good luck with the ramp, the only thing i'd say is watch out for air pockets in between the cotton sheets. i've been weighting mine down to prevent it, other than that the ramps i've made using this seem to be doing pretty good.
That’s some technique! I wonder how big you could go with it. Only just found your channel looking forward to looking in the archives judging by the outro clips!
Thanks! I saw the concrete/ fabric technique on youtube, people use it to make all sorts of things. I made some hollow concrete balls using a gym ball as garden decorations first and then thought I'd try it on something skateable. I think a mini ramp made out of it would be awesome, you've just got to watch out for pockets of air getting trapped in between the sheets.
you should put one wired fence as structure under the fabric sheets it would help ton strenghten and shape the surface as you please
This is awesome!! Nice shot on the c.bay front too 👌 really want to try building something soon and this video gives me all the inspiration!! Keep up the good vids man
Thanks!
How much do think that ramp weighs? It’s a trip seeing you roll it around on your skateboard…
i reckon it weighs maybe 30lbs, pretty easy to move tbh
this is fxcking sick!
BRILLIANT IDEA..!!!! This idea can save so much soil if want to build permanent ramp
Thanks! I'm building another, slightly bigger one at the moment, I'll have a video of it up soon.
I have never seen this technique before. Whatever works! Keep the Heat Coming! 👊🔥🤘
Thanks for the positive words. I'd seen the technique used for other things here on youtube so I thought I'd steal it and apply it to some skate stuff.
Awesome! How is the ramp holding up? Please do a follow up vid!!
It's holding up pretty good. I'm hoping to do a slightly bigger ramp, so should get a vid up featuring that soonish. Cheers!
kool
SO RAD! GOTTA TRY THIS! CHEERS
no problem!
Lovely stuff. Keep it up!
Thanks! Will do.
The ramp looks great but as for the video itself it is shit. So much was missing and to far away.
i agree, the quality is shit. i'm more interested in building and skating than making a career on youtube for now though, so i just throw these quick videos out there in case it can give people an idea or two that might help them. cheers.
@@bobburbanks7718 well your the only one that’s doing this cloth way DIY style, making the video pan out RIGHT doesn’t mean it has to be your career.
fair enough
@@bobburbanks7718 Thankyou so much for the content though
love your videos, keep up the good work!
Thanks very much :)
fvcking so sick. nice front shuv
Cheers!
What did you shake over the crete before you started to get that smooth finish? ~1:30
think he said straight cement powder was in that siv (strainer)
yeah, it was just pure cement. I wait for the concrete to dry a little then use a sieve to try and get an even layer. It seals the concrete nicely and you can get a smoother finish.
Still not broken now ?
Still going strong, no cracks.
@@bobburbanks7718 damn,so sick
