    My squat and deadlift changed so much for the better after watching your original breathing/bracing video. Not just physically, but also knowing "My legs are strong enough, I just need to keep my torso from failing".

    Hey Brian, thanks to you I just put 25 lbs on my 225 squat, hitting a piss clean low bar 250. I got a belt and followed your advice and my squat has never felt better. I weigh 165 so that’s a 1.5 x bw 1RM. On 1/1/17, I weighed 138 and was a much weaker man. Thank you so much for such awesome content and for sharing your training journey with us. Big love to you and Neversate, Brian!
    I hope you heal quickly and continue to regain strength, man. Thank you.

    This litteraly changed my lifting the first time you made a video about bracing, because I had NEVER heard of this before. I STILL send people your original video anytime I am trying to explain it to them. My squat went up by 50 pounds or more once I mastered this.

    The more I do this the more I found that I naturally brace for other lifts. Like taking the garbage to the curb or trying to take all the groceries in the house in one trip. Maybe not eyes popping out brace, but still a brace.

      Michael Price we swapped trash companies a few weeks ago. Recycle can was packed. Went to lift and dump it into the new can. Couldn't. Remembered to brace. Easy peasy.

      Michael Price. Yup, and that protects you from injuries outsode the gym. Probably where most people actually experience a problem, picking up 20lbs of groceries or a 40lb kid rather than that impressive 1rep DL.

      Hello. Is this breathing suitable for high reps such as 12 repetitions on lifts. How would one go about applying this technique for 12 repetitions. Would I essentially breathing in and out between every single repetition.

    • @michaelprice8207
      @michaelprice8207 2 роки тому

      @@yogajogajogi8026 It's more for heavy reps. You can do it by breaking up the reps. Like do 6. In the standing position breath and rebrace. Then do 6 more. Something like that

    Your earlier breathing and bracing video taught me the cadence I should have while lifting things, when to exhale, when to inhale, and that let me complete all my sets and reps while being able to give (if not 100% then at least) 80% of my strength to each rep. Now I'm going to start doing the same thing turned up to 11, brace as hard as I can, breathe in as deeply as I can, and I'm confident this'll help me with greater things in the future.

    nowadays information is everywhere, but what's rare is CERTAINTY that you have in your advices !!! and thats is priceless. you can't find many ppl to make you certain like you do Brian and that comes from years and years of experience. aside from the content, the certainty that you give lifters in your videos, is what makes the difference between someone make progress in the gym and break plateaus or just get more confused. God bless you Brain. keep up the good work brother.

    Brian your tip just helped my squat tremendously - i realised i concentrated my bracing too much in the middle instead of filling up the tank all the way to the bottom - ive been doing this for like 2 years - your comparison to a good brace to a legpress just clicked something in my head and trying to get the same feeling/support when bracing and filling up my stomach and to the back DANG! BRO my pr just went up from 130 to 140 kg in one workout. Thanks! the best advice ever!

    I actually watched the first video, and I thought it was fine. I learned from it. I saw some other videos on how to breathe and brace, and they were fine as a reminder if you already know how to do it. But your breakdown really helped me get better at it and put it all together. I did some squats last night and my back was not happy with me, woke up fine and did some tonight and feel a lot better.

    Thank you for this video and your others. The number of times trainers, friends and even my own wife have told be to breath while lifting has been some of the worst advice I’ve ever received. I was always naturally holding my breath with out thinking about it. But today I used breathing and bracing properly after watching your videos and my 400lb deadlift felt like a 200lb deadlift. Not only that with in a day of watching you and also strength untamed dude my 3 power lifts form have gone from shit to awesome. So glad I randomly found this. Next time someone tells me to breath I’m going to just stare them in the face and turn purple.
