If this does hit 250 likes, maybe you could do the missions either in stream or add bonus content to members/Patreon folk. I personally thumbed up because I'm very curious to see you apply your play style to a sandbox (I've only ever watched a UA-camr named Raptor play this game, he has a very different approach than you I think).

I'd love to see you complete a play through of this game! I've been really enjoying myself but always appreciate the extra guidance and tips that come from your real-world experience
Take notes Cities Skylines 2, the streets and the train tracks as well as the grass of the backyards all smoothly fade into the surrounding ground textures, this is how it's supposed to look like, not 1 row of grey pixels next to one row of green pixels.
You can move the Cockpit Camera while riding in vehicles using W/A/S/D, Q/E, Z/X, and R/F. So you can ride inside the locomotive or any of the passenger cars. Check out all the Key Mappings in Settings by clicking the Menu icon in the upper-right corner, then Settings, then Keyboard. Thanks for the playthrough of Transport Fever 2. Along with Timberborn and Stationeers, it is one of my three favourite games. I'm looking forward to watching more.

Interesting that your mind inverted the story around and what was the rancher making up a story so people would stop annoying him looking for big foot became "the corpse of a child" when he said that whatever creature that was the pressure of over 600 feet of lake water compressed him to "the size of a child" but hey, you do you weirdo...
The show was supposed to take place in the area and the town scenes were filmed in Virginia City, which still has the Old West buildings. It was the starting city for the scenario.

i love these games where you build transport and the cities build based on your progress in feeding their needs. i started with that theme way back in chris sawyer's locomotion. open ttd is a newer game with that tile aesthetic. i wish cities skylines had a game mode that was similar to these transport games where you build networks and watch the cities grow themselves over time. with realistic zoning and such. even these old games do this too. they have industrial, shop, and house zones and setting up transport between them helps them grow too. ah. i love it.
Born and raised in Carson City here, loving the lore-Lake Tahoe (though the real thing is so much more beautiful), the Cartwrights at the Ponderosa (does anyone remember "Bonanza"?), and even Sam Clemens at the Territorial Enterprise, before he became famous as Mark Twain!
As someone with 4k hours+ I think I should explain some things, detailing is amazing, and that’s not including mods, speaking of mods, I think it should have been mentioned more as well, with thousands of mods that improve the game in numerous ways are amazing! There’s countless great discords for the game as well, also the depots don’t need road connections, but it you want to for realism nothing is stopping you. Overall this is by far my favorite game and can’t wait to see you play more!
There is multiple such as general tpf2 Server, as well as servers for specific regions and country's, such as North America, United Kingdom, Germany, France.

The devs have also stated that their plan is to release several iterations of Transport fever until their product will have everything from AI competitors to huge maps. Transport fever series is a project that will take decades to reach the final product but they are open and honest about releasing a new version whenever they have something significant to add to it. I expect it to be a game series I'll happily introduce to my future kids.
I’m so happy to see you playing this game. It’s one of my current obsessions, I found it before CS2 came out and while I’ve liked your videos on that game I couldn’t get into it for reasons. Please keep making these and playing this game, I will watch them all!
I haven't played this game but I watch a lot of it on YT. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a mode just like this for Cities Skylines too. I love being able to progress through history with historically accurate buildings and vehicles.
Thanks for picking up this game!! I've loved every part of your transportation management in cities skylines series and just wanted more of it, and now I do!! Makes me so happy especially since I'm abroad and unable to play and get to see your amazing attention to details and in depth explanation of what you're doing and why. I love it
my favorite virtual model railroad simulator :) There are so many amazing mods with nearly every possible vehicle and train on the workshop and other sites. After playing CS2 for a while, I have totally forgotten how nice leveled lots look like, instead of the stretched asphalt parking lots and weird sidewalks. Also the smooth placement and fiddleless building.
So happy to see you playing this. Love this series, I appreciate how much effort they put in the campaign. Even Transport Fever 1's campaign is worth experiencing too one day. Free play is fun but I definitely enjoyed the world tour campaign through the years of transport history.
I love and envy how appreciative you are of the finer details. I wouldn't have the patience to play the tutorial like you did, but it's such an enjoyable experience now that I've seen it this way
I do believe Ponderosa and the Cartwright Ranch is a reference to the old show Bonanza. BTW, I would love for this to become a series. I love this game.
Yes please!!! I’d love to see you take on the campaign and then free play! I’ve been playing since the first game can out and I’d love to see your way of tackling the game! Even years later there’s always new things to learn!
This game is great, and i feel like it is a bit of a hidden gem. It has some decent campaigns, and millions of asset and map mods that make the game way better (just like with Cities Skylines). There are 2 major drawbacks that all games in this series suffer from: poor optimization (it just really dislikes some graphics cards), and the cities just don't grow nearly big enough for any kind of realism (some modded maps do plop multiple cities right next to each other to kind of try to make a larger city, but the supply-demand will always stay seperate between the 2).
@@Shmew455rcities always keep growing, but they are small to begin with, so they never reach real-life sizes. Then again, every resident that you see walking around in this game is an individual npc with its own name, address, workplace and transport preferences (you can see all that by clicking on them). So, naturally, it would kill the game performance to have a city with a million residents, because the game would need to simulate a million npcs travelling around nonstop. That's why city sizes are scaled down, and they might feel a bit underwhelming at times.
@@keizervanenerc5180 I have to agree sadly. This game is amazing but I had to completely drop it, as it starts to have so bad lag after 20 minutes of playtime it's barely playable anymore.
Glad you’re playing TF2! I always thought you would really enjoy the road/rail building tools. The ability to choose bridge/berm/tunnel and slope mechanics are my favorite.
I love this game, when I was young I had a HO model railway in my parents house, now I'm adult and don't have the space for that I set some sandbox scenarios just to enjoy the trains (boats and airplanes too) pinging back and forth the stations
Phil! We love to watch you play any game you have fun playing! This game and manor lords are welcome and encouraged, especially as we wait for cs2 to slowly improve its asset library to feel worthwhile. Thanks for the content as usual!
This is the game that made me realize it was time to build a new pc. I use a few mods like realistic city and auto signaling for rr. With the pickup places it’s better to build them parallel to the road so you can have dedicated entrances and exits. This prevents backups.
Maaaaan, I've been playing this game for years. It's so much fun, and the rail line tools are just so satisfying to use, you can get such complex detail and routing options. And yeah, it's beautiful!
Absolutely love this game, even more so than CS or CS2! It's especially fun to me to start with a free map and unlimited money, basically building an entire transit network between numerous cities from scratch!
It doesn't matter what game you play, it's you that're so entertaining and comforting! You make me want to play pretty much every game you do, but I don't have the time or money for that, so I just enjoy watching your gameplay. Thanks for introducing me to such interesting games! Keep being you! Your Carson City "Bus" would probably be considered an Omnibus, which I think is where we get the term "Autobus/bus".
The game is wonderful, fun and beautiful. Ive been playing since it came out. Tbh, I didnt get far into the campaigns because they tend to be slow, restrictive and short. Id suggest to set up a large map (I love how the maps need not be square) and start a free game on it. It is enjoyable to play a full game through all the eras, watching the cities grow as you provide them with people and resources. You can even play a major role in city development by pre-placing roads for the city to develop along. One thing I found with playing the game, though, is that it can be difficult to make large sums of money. Its only of the few games were I actually have to use loans to help pay major infrastructure projects and then hope I can pay them off with the new income. I also wish that the game progressed a bit slower too. It just feels like the eras come and go too quickly. Still, its one of my all-time favourite transport games.
So happy to see you playing this. I started playing TP2 last year. It's been a lot of fun and I play on sandbox now, but I'd happily start over to play along.
I played the entire campaign after watching you on stream and now I play freeplay, but I'm glad you're jumping into the campaign. It can get pretty difficult at times because the instructions aren't always clear... but also I turned off the voice and reading wasn't something I did either so it might be easier if you take the time to listen/read haha! Great first episode!
Hands down one of the best transport tycoon games I have ever played that includes city building elements. I’m waiting for a commissioned mod to be finished before starting a pure North American save.
I've been playing Transport Fever 2 since it came out. I love the Workshop as you can install vehicles from real life, like Amtrak for example. You can do Amtrak from 1971 to now in that game, there's so much of it
i love this game, the campaign is fantastic, and I love how it tells some history as it goes. The free mode can be very challenging. If you finish the campaign, I would love to see a series of a map in free mode.
Well, about detailing on console: You've got some trees, rocks, you'll never use and a park bench (ok, it's like 10 assets - 2 of them are hydrants...). And you mainly not use them for decorating but blocking the AI from building house / roads on certain places. Hopefully this will change with the upcoming mod support in June. And a tipp for console players many aren't aware of as it's kinda hidden: You can change the bridge type to high speed bridges! Just place the bridge, but don't confirm it, hit square (on PlayStation), then X - and the bridge types menu appear (from the default stone one, hanging bridge, golden gate up to concrete ones). So no more almost full-stop braking on bridges!
I have spent 000's of hours on this sim. I enjoy making complex metro systems, for example, I recreated the Manchester Metrolink network, as well as the London Underground Subsurface lines network.
TF2 is such a fantastic, content rich and addicting game. I think one of it‘s biggest advantages is that it really lets you play however you want. You can play through the campaign, play a business simulation trying to get rich by finding the most profitable routes or build the biggest network available in sandbox mode. Thanks to the thousands of mods you can advance every aspect of the game, customize your game to be set in a specific country with real life trains and vehicles or use the enormous amount of assets available to handcraft a beautiful and detailed map like a digital model railway. You can start in the era of your choice and watch the world progress into modernization or choose a specific time and stick with it. The amount of variation the gameplay allows is really impressive and it just doesn’t get boring. Sometimes I‘ll build large high speed rail corridors and giant freight depots connecting one end of a giant map to the next and at other times Ill‘ just connect a bunch of little towns in a mountainous area with narrow gauge railway. You can focus on the big picture and connect the whole map or perfect the local public transport in a specific city (or both). I’ve played for over 300 hours and haven’t even tried the campaign yet…
I'm down for more of this! It seems appropriate after Manor Lords - this'll drag us back to the present, and then to follow up we can keep moving into the future with a playthrough of InfraSpace?
Love this! Though the narrator’s English accent is simultaneously Northern and Westcountry, it’s a kind of whiplash haha. It sounds like a Dutch voice actor? It’s kinda the British equivalent of flipping between Nashville and Brooklyn accents constantly. Hearing him say ‘railroad’ and ‘deepoh’ are equally surprising
This is a great simulator... had it since the beginning. Honestly always played in sandbox mode so it's nice to see what the Scenarios are. Hope you play more.
As a Transport Fever 2 player myself, I reccomend installing some Steam Engine Mods, so you have a big selection to choose of!🐴 and btw, dont do the campaing, its just some short little thing compared to the actual game, you just have to make a new game, you dont have infinite money just immediately, you can choose it in the mod menu!
I've been a fan of both TF games, and the sequel definitely took the foundations of the first and improved it. Spent a ton of time playing! Can't wait to see more of it from you!
Oh boy, just wait until you start using mods-it becomes a whole new experience. I wouldn't do too much digging into them yet, but there are some quality of life mods that are very handy, like a display of slopes and distances while constructing, auto signaling at set separation. And mods can be used in campaign by adding them while loading the save. There is even a mod to enable achievements while using mods so you don't feel you have to avoid the QOL mods. Hope to see more from this series! I just got back into TPF2 after probably a year or so and it's good to be back. I remember checking to see if you had played this and being surprised you hadn't.
Camera controls still work when you're riding a vehicle, so you can look from different perspectives. Also, if you click the little google maps pin in the upper left of the vehicle window, you pin the camera to it but still in the 3rd person view. When assigning vehicles, you don't have to select every vehicle. If you select no vehicle, it assumes you want to send all available vehicles on that route.

Hands down one of the best transport tycoon games I have ever played that includes city building elements. I’m waiting for a commissioned mod to be finished before starting a pure North American save.
A story driven free play series could be really cool on a megalomaniac sized map. There are maps of the Great Lakes out there!
I absolutely would not mind seeing more of this. It's just one of those really cozy games you can lose yourself in for a few hours.
Walking 🚶♀️ - my favorite mode of transportation :) though i love so many others, chair lifts included, sooo important when skiing
Loved this video!! I'd watch the hell out of any continuation of this as a series :)
I'd love to see you play more of this! I watched the live stream, but didn't really know what was going on 😅 Now I'm getting to learn.
I've been playing Transport Fever 2 since it came out. I love the Workshop as you can install vehicles from real life, like Amtrak for example. You can do Amtrak from 1971 to now in that game, there's so much of it
Yes would love to see a Transport Fever 2 mini series.
i love this game, the campaign is fantastic, and I love how it tells some history as it goes.
I would love to see a series on this, it’s such a good game!
I'm so happy to see you play Transport Fever 2 !!
Would love to see a series in free game instead of campaign
Would love to see you play more of this. Very fun game.
It is one of the better transport (city)building games, I love it and played many times over the last years.
Love this game and would love to see you play it more, especially the free play.
Love this! Though the narrator’s English accent is simultaneously Northern and Westcountry, it’s a kind of whiplash haha. It sounds like a Dutch voice actor? It’s kinda the British equivalent of flipping between Nashville and Brooklyn accents constantly. Hearing him say ‘railroad’ and ‘deepoh’ are equally surprising
would love a full campaign of this
I have almost 60hrs on this game, it's just so chill and plays so well, the mods are great to try in free play too...
I'm so happy to see you playing this. I bought it a few months ago but haven't played it yet much.
I picked this up when I determined C:S2 wouldn't work for me. I love it!
This is a great simulator... had it since the beginning. Honestly always played in sandbox mode so it's nice to see what the Scenarios are. Hope you play more.
I've heard a lot of good things about Transport Fever 2. Glad to see the game done from this perspective!
i loved this game so much, probably have a few hundred hours on it, glad you made a video, i really hope there will be a third version of the game
Dude, make more videos with this game! I am having to look for other creators to watch this gameplay and I'd prefer to see more of yours!
i just love the 1800s buildings and vehicles, i hope we get such assets in Cities Skylines 2 in future as well.
The Ponderosa and the Cartwrights. Crazy that a modern game like this references an old tv western like Bonanza.
🚂
This game seems very interesting, never heard of it before!
I've recently re-started this game again :D Wonderful to see you giving it a go aswell, Phil.
Please more!!!! I'd love to see you continue the campaign on YT :D
