  • Having owned my RS Clio182 Full Fat (FF referring to being fitted with both Cup packages) for 6 months I’ve got to know the car very well. This video takes a look around the car, what it’s like to drive, maintenance costs and valuations. I hope you enjoy.

    Lovely review. Been my dream car for the past 6 years. Only 1 ever came to Malta. Yesterday a mate of mine gave me ride in his Clio 200 Gordini, and I'm still smiling from ear to ear. It confirmed why I love these cars so much.

    Finally got mine finished after 3 years. Totally different car to what it was when I first bought it and I thought it was great then. Good to see you’re still enjoying it.

    I just brought a Clio 182 Cup (Australia) and how you describe it is exactly how I see the experience. I hope to get it out on a track soon, but pads will be upgrade to the Ferodo DS2500 soon 😀. Really enjoyed your review.

    Great review, the same as mine, a 2005 182 in BG except for the steering wheel - I definitely recommend a snappy re-trim which I had fitted last year.

      Thanks - yes, the steering wheel is on my list of things to do and I’ve been told that “snappy” is the person to do it

    Great little car, bought mine brand new in 2005 all original with 36k on the clock. Its locked in my neighbours garage ( well it was last time i checked in Oct )

      That’s going to be a very collectible car in the future (now actually). There can’t be many with that low mileage left now 👍🏻

    I've removed the spacers under the drivers seat they are about 10mm-12 mm and actually make quite a noticable difference to the driving position.

    Hi great video! I'm looking at biting the bullet and finally buying a clio sport either a 172 cup or a 182 I'm just wondering if there's any difference on speed between the 182 Cup, the full fat version and the standard sport. Thanks!

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks George, there’s negligible difference in speed over any of the models. The Cup is the rarer car but does come with the awful std seats so most will have been changed for something better. I wanted the cup suspension but couldn’t live with the seats so opted for the Full Fat version. It enables you to have the best of both worlds. The cup pack (inc suspension, wheels, etc,) but also have the best of the mod cons (eg climate control). With FF so affordable, I wouldn’t go std sport. Hope that helps

    Had mine 6 years 125k, nothing really major but commen problems.
    Pre cat lambda sensor, miss fires caused by coil packs.
    Bonnet catch fails,wiper motor.Exhaust.
    And usual lights on the dash that go off and on when they feel like.
    Front tyres and brakes do all the work but you can get decent MPG.
    A car that changes direction so quickly and lots of grip and lift of oversteer which is comforting if you go into a corner a bit quick lift off and the little think goes "I got this " and drags you round.
    Damn noisy though.

    Probably a brake issue with your car, when was the fluid replaced last and what pads are you running? People still run them hard on track

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  3 роки тому

      I’ve just checked the service history. The discs, pads and fluid were all changed 3 years / 19k miles ago. I suspect the pads are on their last legs. Not sure what the pads are, the receipt refers to 5248e - not sure what that is?

    • @russhopkins724
      @russhopkins724 3 роки тому +1

      Looks like 5248e is the part number for Pagid brake pads. Not used them myself. Personally I’d flush the fluid through and replace the front pads and if needed discs. Like I say the front callipers are normally plenty adequate on the little 182.

    Ariel Atom, Westfield, Caterham would prob beat it on the most windy roads, but not much else.

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  3 роки тому +1

      They’re pretty hardcore machines but as luck would have it a friend of mine now owns an Ariel Atom and we’re hoping to meet up in the summer for a drive through mid-Wales. That would make an interesting video 🤔

    • @howiestone9987
      @howiestone9987 3 роки тому +1

      @@FastandFun Yes it would! :D Have you driven one before? I imagine it'll comfortably leave the Clio behind, but you're £30k better off, and you won't need to decide between a helmet or flies in your teeth, or sunburn or soaking wet, or deaf and needing a new spine haha

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  3 роки тому +1

      @@howiestone9987 no, I’ve never driven one and can’t wait to just be a passenger in the car. It’ll be insanely quick but will it be quick on tight and twisty roads like the Elan valley? And for as much as I love the Ariel Atom, I’m not sure I’d be mad enough (or rich enough) to spend best part of £50k (mate paid £48k for ‘16 plate) on a second hand one! We’ve booked a track day in Anglesey the following day although I’m planning on taking my Meg250 Cup to that instead of the Clio182. Should make a really great video 👍🏻
