Picked one of these up in March this year and couldn’t be happier. Most fun you’re going to have on the road at legal speeds and easy to work on. There’s a reason why these are well so well regarded. It’s not super quick but on a B Road, it’s bloody brilliant. Decent tires make a huge difference mind you! New cup shocks and decent springs are dirt cheap and worth doing for any potential buyers. Great Chanel btw, subbed :)
Well I can assure you that this car is currently Sorn’d for winter, not driven on salt. And I’m very much looking forward to getting back out for spring!
Lovely honest review I must say. Made me appreciate why the 182 is really my ultimate dream car.... And congratulations to the owner for preserving that magnificent example
Pre Cat Lambda sensor,Coil packs and miss fires are commen on them.Gearstick wobble on acceleration,Original exhaust lasts 3 yrs max.Engine mounts go. Cam and aux belts need doing properly to get most out of the lump. That's the most common problems.
I really want to buy one of these cars to do a v6 look conversion with a kit that a french company sells for just 1500 pounds that makes it look just like the clio v6.
Good video mate, I have a very heavily track focused Clio 182 that is a bundle of fun! I would happily let you compare to this if you wanted to explore something different.
Nice clio u bought! I just subscribed. I got both clio 182 ff with 124k on clock and a mk7 golf r!!! 45mpg u say 😂 no chance... I get 30/35mpg most of the time. The only time I got in the 40s was on a trip to Devon! I've had my clio 12 years now and I still prefer her to my golf r! I'm 46 BTW!
Seen alot people buying Citroen C4 vts 180 coupe at the moment aswell last vts models to be made and wrc loeb championship when they retired the C4 production.
Gotta say, as fun as the 182 is, the 172 Cup is the most fun you can have for the cash. They're actually quicker due to the weight reduction and much more chuckable round corners. Mine is a little bit unfair because it's not standard and has even more weight reduction measure implemented, but my point still stands
I know this is an old vid but I disagree that you're not making much ground in the Clio. You may not have been at the time but when pushed hard around corners, there is not much that can keep up. So many examples of reviewers out there agreeing with that. I believe Harry Metcalfe in his trophy video mentions that it was keeping up with a Gallardo around corners and it was one of the main reasons he bought one. Otherwise, great discussion and lovely car, thank you for sharing (a year ago) :-)
Difference between the 182 and 200. The 200 was heavier and had electric steering. So Renault Sport had to fit shorter gearing ratios as a compromise. You'd feel very fast in the 200, but then as soon as you got into the lighter 182, you'd realise that the 200 is in fact slower
Trust me, the Michelins make a huge difference! Got pilot sport 3 for my Clio sport and it is ridiculously better than the continentals I had previously. Enjoy!
Here's Lloyd, Poor bloke can't even afford a decent pair of trousers....got the knees ripped out on both legs....At least he has taste in cars. (Until you find out he usually drives Astons)These 182's are the most fun you can have on the road. By far the best car i've owned to date! Stick some 15's on it with PS3's and it becomes an Absolute rascal...
This lad talks a load of absolute rubbish 950kg!! 45mpg!! Can't get them with Recaros as standard! lol 😆 Great car especially with factory fitted Recaros

@@99StuC Different gearbox (6speed) and heavier. They are notoriously short geared. 172/182 are a 5 speed box with a very long 5th gear. So it’s like a cruising gear. Plus it’s a lighter car.

Oh and it’s possibly one of the most pampered Clio 182’s in the world 😂😂
I've had my Racing Blue 182 4 years now, the most fun car I've owned. Great video, lovely car and I agree, it,s gotta have the stripes.

Thanks Gianluca, yep not many around so tidy!
Ultimate dream car really...well I've had mine 5 years gearbox let go 6 weeks ago but it's back on the road and its lots of fun.
I want one of these so bad, good to know i can justify buying one as an investment, they seem to be appreciating quickly.

Miss the days of puntos. saxos. Now every 20 year old has a BMW or merc on pcp. Shame all that stuff has died
Yep things have changed a little bit, Max Power life is no longer!
@Chris why 3
@Chris let me get back to you tomorrow. Still reading your novel. Joking . Yes. I'd like a csr that I can do that and keep value
@Chris got any pics of them
@Chris just to see them. I don't wanna buy
Had two 182s back in the day - good fun cars. I remember the insurance for me at 21 in 2004 for this car was 1,200!
Dream car I’m thinking of buying one soon

Really good video. Hoping to get a 172 cup by the end of year.

Thanks Tom, might have to to take you up on that at some point!
The 200 full fat with the cup packs is amazing.
I’m going 182 full fat plus cup pack next. Total bargain!
Awesome ripped jeans. This guy's a real fashionista!

I got one of these in same colour. What a laugh to drive
I did a double-take when I saw '182' as the title - they are great cars, and is why I've kept mine for 12 yrs!!
Wow that’s a serious length of time to own one, not surprised though - great fun!

Still has to be the 200 for me 😍
182 weight is 1090kg, 197/200 weight is 1240kg, with the cup weighing 1200kg.
For a Brilliant honest 182 review watch...Carfection by Henry Catchpole...Brilliant (on youtube)

Agree, Pilot Sports transformed mine
After the Michelin’s went on I couldn’t believe how much more positive the steering was. Again, highlighting how bad the Toyos were!

Great cars. Although if its a genuine 'Cup' and not just a Cup packed 182,then that's the wrong interior. The seats are from the normal 182.
RossASC1982 It’s a Cup packed 182. The seats are correct for the car.
believe me this car is quick enough 😉
"Rear springs break" said no Toyota owner ever 🤣
They are £8k plus now in 2023 ... double the price
Standard car 😂. There are about a million mods on it.
Yeah, otherr than All the KTec shit on it........"It's Semi Standard"
Intake and exhaust? (Can’t buy standard exhaust anymore) What else is there?
Lloyd Hackett engine cover, all the trim bits, battery cover, caps over top mounts… I could go on 😂
