seconding on the opinion of paper gameplay! it's always fun to watch paper gameplay, especially with decks as convoluted as altar tron and poison storm. Even something like seeing how you track counters etc... is very inspirational and very pleasing to watch!
It'll be interesting to see how the format adapts with the ban, but MH3 really isn't that far off, and there's definitely the potential that cards within it are going to shakeup Pauper too.
So you want a deck that is prime against the most agressive deck on the format... the most defensive deck on the format AND the value midrange deck? Chatterstorm will do the job, my friend... lol
If lembas is a good draw and you are going to be saccing eot anw may as well do it in response to the ability. You also gain "more" value off the scry if you bottom the card, it stays on the bottom.
@@kalikaiz I just think it’s nice to hear people’s stories from fnm and the like. Andrea mengucci always talks about his fnm and when he goes to paupergeddon and it’s normally my favorite part of his videos
I appreciate Walker's stance, but I was also wondering where the bargains were. The life gain you get off a 7 CMC creature is insane when you're also drawing two cards off of it. In a format with a lot of red following a ban, it's almost a requirement.
not sure if this is just a pauper heuristic or what but why not block the 1 drops with your enforcers? if they bolt it, thats a 2-for-1 thats healed you for 4 damage. and if they dont, you take material off the table. not to mention how many games came down to the difference of oppo having a bolt or not, and if they had used the bolt on your enforcer instead of face it would have saved you
@@kalikaiz i mostly just think its really interesting in comparison to how ive seen you play uw fams. like youll toss a familiar in front of a goblin no problem because you know the deck doesnt need them to win but maybe the math is different when your wincon is the 4/4 itself
I think these league showcases what I, as a Grixis Affinity player, have known all along. The deck is strong and can grind. Decisions matter. However, it has a ton of tapped lands and cards just meant to draw cards. You don't have the most removal. Or the most counters. Or the most threats. I've lost plenty of games to hands that looked like a great start but folded to a steady stream of tapped lands and a lack of threats. A couple 4/4s or a 5/6 with no keywords just doesn't go quite as far anymore. Hopefully people stop thinking in the past, use their eyes, and stop hating on Affinity and asking for bans every other week.
I have a noise gate but it seems like when I'm also talking it is still audible. I don't fully understand how to gate the noise while not gating my speech. Any tips?

I'll have to put some effort and see if I can get some haha
Thanks for making these videos. I always enjoy your content!
Thanks a lot!
What's your opinion on the strength of Grixis right now? Would it be a smart play to pilot this deck right now? How does it fare against Terror?
I expect it to be crazy good right now tbh

Mh3 is still almost 5 weeks out. Which is 20 videos for me. Feels like eternity
Energetic Splendor from MH3 is going to be a card to look out for in pauper.
Yes!! Waiting for your vids. In ur opiniom, which deck now anong the top tier has very good match with monored, bg gardens, and jeskai terror?
Maybe altar Tron?

Any turbo initiative video after stickers and name stickers goblin ban?
That's gonna be tough for sure
why do you crack lembas in response of its etb?
Hoping to draw it again

Since I already wanted to say it it makes the scry better to sac ahead as it shuffles in
Do you play any paper pauper? I’d love to hear you talk about it in a video or a direction to a video where you do!
I do but I haven't been recording it. Is that useful?

@@clisby ah I haven't heard these. I'll go look around
If you're playing Enforcer and Serpent, works a lot better with some Reckoners Bargain in main. Won my LGS pauper with a similar list last month
Yeah walker said he doesn't like killing his own creatures
@@kalikaiz Which is fair, but you have Blood Fountain for a reason

Time to sleeve the enforcers :)
Affinity always comes back
My boyyyyyy!!! Let's goooooo
Thanks for coming!

Yeah I totally get that. I wanted to wait until I could counter the bolt but it's probably not a great plan

@@music00soba I definitely make a lot more mistakes trying decks I don't usually play. If you have a timestamp that would help

I think there is also a big difference between an ok player and a great player with affinity
You can have your 4/4, just leave the admitted design error 😅
This looks like it has an incredibly high ceiling in the meta but also a ton of skill required to pilot it.
Yeah for sure
Always so much burn after a card gets banned lol
It's just so consistent and simple
@@kalikaiz that it is! When you don’t know what to play…play burn lol
There's some pretty bad hissing whenever you talk.
Might be worth using a noise gate on your recording software.
