BeYourGaard here, first of all thank you for playing the deck! Some points from me and maybe some answers to questions people might have
Reprobates are in over journey to nowhere’s because I couldn’t find them before the tourney I brought this deck to and went through my bulk looking for a suitable replacement, (thats where the crib swap and singleton angel song and late to dinner came from as well) just play journeys if you have them I think they’re better
The ephemerate density isn’t a hold over like Bosh thought but watching the gameplay I realized a difference in goals I’m always trying to ephemerate the soul unless onboard threats are going to end the game I’ll hold it hoping for the ephemerate. Because greed
I didn’t even know that initiative giant was a card! Absolutely going to pick some of those up

Of course they are all defenders, so no worries of losing to combat, but I just thought it was funny the universe being like “oh yea?!”
This deck feels like it could have used a coyote eagles of the north. Helps with double white costs, and is a good target for late to dinner.
I'm excited for this one. Monastery Swiftspear was not the reason that Monored is an issue. 8 impulse draw spells that are borderline Legacy playable are the issue.
Swiftspear's speed does make for some feel bad non-games though. Impulse draws make the deck more successful but feels fairer

Yeah I think the aim of the bans was to make the deck feel less swingy rather than to remove it from the format though.
Making a deck less polarizing in the meta is always the goal of a banning. It's almost never aimed at killing a deck entirely. There's a well written article and video from Gavin talking about exactly what they were thinking when making the decision.
And, the impulse draw effects definitely were not the problem with the evidence being that they are not seeing play in the most successful red decks since the banning. Without Swiftspear to feed with them, you just don't want that effect in those numbers. It doesn't serve the same purpose. And, furthermore, being borderline Legacy playable - as you say - doesn't mean a card shouldn't or can't be in Pauper. It is an eternal format and there are plenty of cards legal in Pauper that see, or would see, Legacy play.
@Martian_Manhunter The top red deck on MTG still runs 7 with 4 Synthesizer and 3 Reckless. And that deck list first placed a challenge 11 days ago.
I have read that article but generally disagree with Gavin's argument. I understand that they're trying to make the format fun. Swiftspear is polarizing and not fun. Your oppo drawing cards doesnt FEEL as bad as it is. It also gives time for sideboard cards to be drawn. I get it. But I'd much rather see balance over fun and I really think cards like Reckless and Synthesizer are much more powerful than Swiftspear.
As far as a card being Legacy power or not... your argument would make sense for meta specific cards, synergies, niche cards, etc. Pure, simple, efficient card draw is something that is (the most?) comparable across formats.

Your opinion is not supported by data. Theres a few people who spent a lot of time parsing out the W/R with and without MS pre banning. MS was too polarizing for pauper. Thatmillguy has a good summary but id look at the data yourself to see how successful decks are converting challenge wins post ban. Koldotha red is basically the only version consistently winning and its not because it plays long games.

8 copies of reckless impulse is not why burn is still doing well.
I think this deck needs Coalition Honor guard. It's basically a pauper hatebear and tron can easily play it

The deck tech at the end was great and definitely leaned more into what my first reactions were. I might have to try it out now
I think a white signet would be better than the current 2 mana rock - it still adds mana while filtering, and the only downside is you can't turn W into WW which seems pretty negligible
Im not against it but it needs some BoshNRoll tuning. I will await 2.0

If the sensation of sneezing is equivalent to 1/8 of an orgasm, then attacking with an Ulamog’s Crusher and resolving an annihilation trigger is handily 1/6. I audibly cheered and gesticulated when that unfolded. I *love* its presence in this deck and hella dig this style of deck as well, reminiscent of my largely defensive mono white control deck in Modern built around Near Death Experience.
Neat extended wrap-up at end. Very cool. Tron lands desire additional mechanics of assembling them beyond the Map’s and a few Star’s. Too much upside to spare redundancy there.
Missed pauper content. Stoked!
The amount of times I've gotten a combat blow out because Tuktuk has reach is insane. That card should not have reach but damn do I love it

4 Eagles of the North seems good here. Filter colorless into Plains, allowing you to run fewer Plains and more flying threats to end games.

I fucking love this deck. My buddy had it in his half of our pauper gauntlet way back
In the second game vs walls in match 1 they had infinite mana but nothing to spend it on so they would have needed to find something like a valakut invoker or secret passage before they could actually kill you.
i wonder if splashing green for Sprout Swarm and Spore Frog would make sense, Sprout Swarm especially will get out of hand fast with enough mana
When you said you wanted to be doing Prophetic Prism, which is banned, had you considered Energy Refractor for that effect? It cuts your mana in half when you use it, but it doesn't tap down to filter and does draw a card on ETB.
That was my first thought, then I checked to see when the video was made. I have no idea why lens was in the deck layout. xD

Reprobation won't retrigger ETB abilities when removed. Not sure how important that is.
I feel like a utility land is pretty important and not too hard to slot in.
What utility land would you suggest? Pickings are pretty slim in Pauper.
@@sheepy403 Only thing I found somewhat usefull would be the white taplands. either the cascade or the tap and sac to draw. Cant imagine slothing in more colorless lands
Could have one with cycling to cycle one of your maps for 4-5 mana
@@sheepy403 Haunted Fengraf and Captivating Cave are common options among Tron lists. Fengraf is better if your threats are better, but I'm 100% sure that one Fengraf is correct in this list.

this tron build is so weird. I would add blue to play more card advantage and counterspells. Mana Tithe is fun but this deck prolongs the game and mana tithe will only do something in the first 4 turns. Introducing the monarch/innitiative in this deck seems very sus. Its only good if the deck already has the ultra fogs going but if not the opponent can take the card advantage from this deck and overwhelm tron in card advantage which is very bad for tron. Some Mulldrifter would be a nic fit in this deck.

Deck might be cheesy, but mono red deserves all the cheese. Swiftspear wasn't enough sadly
