How good is the Riptide?

- Riptide Pool Vacuum System. Please sponsor me Riptide. Or send me some free bags at least lol. Would be more than grateful! Also to the guys wanting to buy one. This does not replace manually vacuuming with equipment. You still need to vacuum dirt and finer debris once in a while but during fall it is a must have. Completely worth every single penny!
Thank you. I can relate to frustrating pools that test you. Appreciate the demo, I need to look into this.
Have you heard or seen a “Telsa 90” pool vacuum. Heard it’s good and not expensive
New to the industry, but have tried this vacuum SL version...and can not see why you would choose anything else.... the Hammerhead seems nice, but the RipTide guys are constantly improving I hear, they sent a buddy a part he didn't even ask for they just sent it, as it was a new addition and riptide thought he should have the new addition (part). so they sent it with no notice. That kind of due diligence earns my business every time.
Back when I first bought it I had just started in the pool business. So funds were the main reason with going with the XP model. The only reason besides financial to choose this version would be lack of space. For example tight spaces where you wouldn’t be able to fit the cart through. I have a couple of homes like that. I purchased a Bottom Feeder a couple of weeks ago. I should be getting it in the next month and will be doing videos on that.
Just used my riptide for the first time today! Worked awesome! Do you leave the battery hooked up to everything while charging?
So in the model that I have (The XP) I do leave the cables attached to the battery. I just get a good connection and within 3 hours it’s fully charged.
How has the battery held up. Have you had to replace the 35ah yet? Thanks.
I replaced the smaller battery pretty quickly as it would only let me get through 7 to 8 pools during windy season. I now use a 80 amp battery and still charge the bad boy every day because we are doing anywhere from 14 to 20 pools a day.
What do you think is a better buy, the bottom feeder or riptide?
If you buy the riptide without the cart (xp model) then the bottom feeder wins.
If you buy the riptide with the cart though (sl model) then I recommend the riptide. The cart is a game changer when it comes to transporting all your stuff into the backyard.
Love the Riptide. 👍👍👍
Didn’t think I needed it before. Now I can’t live without it ha. Thanks for watching.
@4:00 second week in, you ain't kidding brother!!!
Good luck!
Does the pr10000 precipitate a lot of small things on the bottom of the pool that needs to be vacuumed out? Does the riptide remove all the precipitation or is it too small? Can the riptide remove everything small even sand?
I have a video on this. The riptide does not handle fine dirt. The PR-10,000 is a phosphate remover. You add it and a couple of days later, after the filter catches everything, You disassemble the filter and clean it. Now I will say that the Riptide does do a good job with the Sand but sand isn’t very fine. The bag will clog up pretty fast so removing the bag and rinsing might be necessary throughout the vacuuming of the pool.
Which heavy duty pole do you recomend?
We have been using the Ultimate Pool Tools Carbon fiber pole with steel tip.
Still use the first one I bought over a year ago.
you do have to replace certain parts that wear out once in a while. Like the grips and the locking clips. But my fave pole hands down.
I’ve heard great things about the primate pole as well but I’ve just been happy with what we have now. Might try sometime down the line.
DAKOTA LITHIUM 12V 54AH DEEP CYCLE BATTERY, reading through the comments I read you use this battery. Where do you recommend buying one and what type of charger would I need for that type of battery?
From the Manufacturer’s website. When you purchase the battery it will ship with a charger made specifically for the battery. I paid about $500
@@rodriguezpoolservice3447 awesome thank you very much for the quick reply and answer. I'll look into that. My first week with the riptide xp model and god it's fucking heavy. I order the bottom feeder, should get it by next week. But either way I think the riptide will be my #1 choice for those horrible windy days.
@@rocketplex8818 I haven’t used my riptide in over a week. Even with the heavier debris days. But I plan to carry it in my truck from now on. Because you never know. I’m loving the bottom feeder. The Dakota battery makes it a lot more manageable but the riptide itself is still a pretty heavy machine. It has its time and place.
A speed adjustment would be nice.. sometimes you just need a small hammer.
True. I’d rather have too much than have too little power.
The Bottom feeder reigns supreme. No hate to riptide cordless is just the way of the future
We will see about that. I ordered a bottom feeder about a month ago now. Can’t wait to try it.
@@rodriguezpoolservice3447 it's worth the current 4-6wk wait. I bought one to try out then 3 more for my whole team. My power vacs are in warehouse as back up. It is a game changer from the power vac. I live in Austin so caddys don't work as well getting to residential back yards in the hill country. It's so light I take it back to every pool weather I'll need it or not.
@@pappanpools that’s exactly what I need. I’m sure I’ll be shaving off 30minutes at least without the extra back and forth trips since I don’t have the cart myself.
@@rodriguezpoolservice3447 How’d you like the Bottom Feeder?
Bottom feeder is nice but they are delicate. Have to be careful with them. If you have employees stay far away from bottom feeder because techs will beat the sht out them and ruin them fast.
I have been using one for a while now. Its ok. Forget using any finer mesh then the 100 micron. Also the bags are a real pain in the ass to remove. I actually modified my vac so I could remove them easy. The last bag I had to cut off. Honestly its fine but not worth the price. The first time I used it I was disappointed. If I had bought it I would of sent it right back. The boss go it. I still use it and it helps. But dam is it ever under powered. Just disappointing overall.
You must've gotten a lemon
I would recommend getting a good big battery, or i been using a lithium 50Ah very expensive $500 but worth every single penny and weights 16lns unlike agm they don't lose power and weight sht toon, agm lose power when less than 50% then riptide doesn't have much power
I ended up buying a Dakota 54ah lithium battery. Best decision ever.
@@rodriguezpoolservice3447 how do you charge this battery newbie here same like regular one ...and jesus they are expensive would you recommend these type of battery for homeowner or it is overkill lol
@@CoachGarcia for homeowner a lithium is just too much, you will barely use 10% of the battery, i recommend a regular battery
@@Fgalvezpool thanks bro for the reply
Can I use regular battery the powervac One
The battery itself shouldn’t be an issue. If you’re using power vacs battery box then I’m not sure.
I got you. Thanks a lot. Cause my powervac broke can’t find them anymore. I might switch to hammer head
@@marwan6767 might be the best option if you’re looking to get it soon. I heard riptide is on back order. Also check out the bottom feeder. It’s very light at 10lbs with battery. They also have a 4-6week delivery estimate though. I want to add that to my Arsenal.
I got a riptide xp for $500!!!!!!
Great deal! About half off!
