    I order 1 today, 1 hour later show that it was shipped, damm!Damm!
    Hope this helps my route since my riptide cart vacuum doesn't fit in a places. (3 weeks later update) Compare to the riptide, this will never replace the Riptide, riptide is just a beast!! Also carrying this bottom feeder, it feels same heavy as my 50ft hose with vuccumhead attach to it, so is not very lightweight, is also very weird to carry around, theres no simpleway to put it on the floor or even attach the pole is not simple as in click and go because of the weight and has no balance. I would say great for spa or fountains and places where my riptide cart wont fit, but other than that, for $1500 is meh.

      Plus it won’t last as long as a riptide, mine lasted 13months and motor died, the switch got water in it and they did send me a new one under warranty which also got water inside after a few months of light use. Riptide has no competition.

    I’ve only cleaned pools on a route for six months, inherited a hammerhead Vacuum and cart, is this worth it for 50-60 pools a week, 12 a day? Or do you think the cart is easier to deal with.

      I haven't personally tested it yet but the only drawback so far is the weight of the battery pack. Suction seems great. They recently went to lithium nickle ion batteries to make it a bit lighter. Also, the battery pack is not waterproof and I know someone who shorted theirs out. No perfect product exist but I would say it is good enough.

    What about small debris and dirt will it get dirt up too?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  8 місяців тому

      To a point. Since it uses less thrust than the larger systems you can use their 57-Micron bag. But fine dirt, no.

    • @mikedaflame8483
      @mikedaflame8483 7 місяців тому +1

      So if there will be dirt remaining you wouldn’t be able to vacuum it with this device then it would almost be like you’re having to do a double job because if you vacuum it with this device and then there’s still dirt that’s going back into the pool you won’t be able to vacuum again because it hasn’t settled so the pool could potentially be cloudy and you have to wait to come back the next week to get it up. The only thing that I wish they did make a bag that actually gets the dirt because they can just like the vacuum daddy ordered that product thinking it would get up the dirt and then it was just spitting dirt back out making the pool look even worse than it did. I wish they would just make a bag that could get it up. that’s why I bought a portable vac because it has a filter

  • @scottlandb6579
    @scottlandb6579 8 місяців тому

    David what’s the micron level of the bag? And honestly you should work with riptide to make bags for this. Really riptide should make bags for everything, just an additional source of revenue for them. They came up with an incredible bag system. If riptide would make a bag for this, I’d buy it.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  8 місяців тому

      100 microns and 57 microns. Riptide is probably too busy to focus on making bags, but that is a good idea for them! 👍

    While the bottom feeder is an amazing product, i dont understand one thing with the battery. I know the plumbing they use for the battery is probably black abs but why dont they paint/coat it with something lighter so it doesnt get so hot in the sunlight. Ive painted both of mine with white plastidip and they stay cool to the touch all summer long and they stay in the bed of my truck while working. My bottom feeders are 4 and 2 yrs old and ive had zero issues with the batteries. I wish i could say the same for the switches but theyre pretty terrible.

    • @chulcho5618
      @chulcho5618 7 місяців тому

      Yes same here. I talked to the people at their warehouse and they said it's about 20% less strength than the previous battery. I honestly don't think it makes a huge difference but the benefit of the new battery is that since it's less powerful, all the debris doesn't get to to the top of the bag, thus causing less clogging when youre using the 57 micron bag

    • @SPL

      To me it felt like the propeller is spinning slightly slower. But as you see in the video it plowed right through a pile of leaves with no issue. It's a trade off for having a battery that last longer, can be recharged in your truck and won't - you know...

      The switch was added mainly because some techs wanted it. It's hard to design a waterproof switch, but their latest one should be bulletproof. At least water proof. 😆
