I agree with alot of what you say. The Sig 1911 is a great gun but to say you dont know why anyone would spend thousands of dollars on a 1911 is like saying I dont know why someone would spend 100s of thousands on a Bently when you can buy a Cadillac.
I own 2 sigs a stx and a C3 they are great gun and have a lifetime warranty that many 1911 do not have

Sig Sauer 1911 are awesome. Another overlooked line are the Para 1911s. They too use forged slides and frames, match grade barrel, bushing, and trigger, and are built by one gunsmith on one bench.
Sig's 1911 slides are wider than a standard 1911 which makes them muzzle heavy and hard to find a holster that fits them. I love how deep they under cut the trigger guard which allows you to get your hand high on the frame. They shoot and run well. I have two but won't buy anymore because the slides are so wide.
Even though the traditional butt is a nice look, the MAG WELL shown standard on the Sig you're showing at the TOP, with the lighter-colored grips, is a huge asset, since it not only allows loading without looking, (so you're watching the target, not the gun butt), and, if you have a wider, or larger hand, it gives you a little less hassle with getting the heel of your palm chewed-up, on the corner of the base of the mainspring house. The checkering is nice on both front and back, not TOO sharp.
Sig and sprinfield i have two of each and one Colt 70 series for now.. but yes Sig does offer a lot for the money

Awesome, I agree! My first 1911 was a Sig Extreme and I absolutely love it! Got it used for 799 and it still had the factory lube on it.

Awesome gun. I too have the STX. Bought it used for under $1,000. Only had two hundred rounds through it from the previous owner. My next will be an X-Six to add to my 9mm collection. Gotta LOVE the Sig's!

Just bought a super match from bud's gun shop $1379.00 offered them $1200.00 and they bit. The custom ops are mostly cosmetic.
I disagree. things like the grips/magwell are cosmetic but the trigger is improved and a better bbl with a match bushing is installed. Having taken the gunsmith class a Cylinder and Slide in Nebraska this gun has several upgrades including the trigger and associated parts. Not perfect but an improvement from your usual 1911.

I think for the money you can't beat a sig 1911. I just picked up the sig xtx over a taurus, springfield and rock island. the sig was hand fitted with matched trigger, slid. with less MIM parts than all of them. and by the way to the person that bad mouthed German guns sig saurer has roots in Sweden as well. some of the best guns in history came out of Germany. great vid

I just purchased the Sig Scorpion 1911 Carry model yesterday for $1049. It comes with Sig night sights and G-10 Hogue Piranha grips...love that! Haven't gotten around to take it to the range yet, but I'm feeling it's gonna be a keeper. I own a Sig P320 in 9mm and I love that gun too. Way to go Sig. Great video bro. 👍
I asked a guy once who worked at a shop that makes custom 1911s what company makes the best production 1911. STI or Sig Sauer was his answer immediately.

I agree, the detail Sig puts on their 1911's is what others do in the custom shop versions. I never understood why someone would pay so much for a Kimber and all they are getting is a pretty outside, not a custom fitting inside.
I own the Tacops Scorpion and Ultra 1911 carry for the money and quality no one else comes can compete with them.

Why a ramped barrel on sig ultra but not on sig c3? I don't think barrel is a factor.

Picked up a Specialist recently----could have saved at least $500.00 with the Sig. Just ordered a Sig .22LR 1911 stye. From what I'm hearing, Sig might be the best value out there----quality/performance that compares to firearms that are priced considerably higher.

I recently picked up a Taurus PT 1911 for $615 NIB that has every single feature you just pointed out except the stainless main spring. Sure, Taurus doesn’t have the reputation that most 1911's do, but the price was right and it is an excellent gun for my first 1911. Not knocking the Sig, just that Taurus offers a lot for the money. I do own other Sigs tho.

Kimber, agreed. Ruger, agreed. SA... that's a different story. And if you want a Kimber, you have a reason. And if you drop $1000+ on a Ruger 1911, get your head checked.
I just put my Saiga 12 and Sig 1911 Carry Nightmare up for sale at my gun shop to pay for the KSG-12 i just got. I also am using the refund I am getting from Carcal for my recalled Caracal C. The Sig was beautiful and a great shooter but just had to have the KSG. I still have a E Series Smith and Wesson 1911 that I will never sell. I will get the Sig 1911 one of these days as I am mourning the loss already.
Without wanting to insult anyone over in the US but if you want a Sig Sauer try find one thats made in Europe (preferably Switzerland) because the quality is just better.

My son has a .45 Nitron Carry with the rosewood grips and bobbed frame.
I can't see anything on it that doesn't look absolutely perfect.

I'm getting a new pistol in a week. I think the next one I get will definitely be a sig 1911 unless I see a good deal on a small pistol 380/9mm. Everyone should have at least one 1911 and the next one I get will be my first. Thanks for the great video.

My Sig GSR 45 has a screw on the right side just ahead of the hammer. It constantly comes lose and a pin drops down jamming the slide. Sig won't help and gunsmiths are afraid to touch it. Anyone have a similar prob? Any suggestions?

How does the Sig 1911 compare with the Dan Wesson Valor or Specialist?
funktron4 It doesn't. Sig compares to Colt and Springfield. Dan Wesson is a whole other matter. The Valor is all hand-fit, all forged, all tool steel parts, night sights are standard, and the Duty finish is as tough as anyone's finish.
Springfield 1911 for sure. Sigs aren't completely interchangeable parts. Case and point. The extractor. I have a sig sp2022 for my edc and its great I'm just not a fan of sigs 1911's

Springfield Armory's top of the line stainless 1911 Trophy Match and also their stainless TRP is the way to go if you want something nice. You get what you pay for.

Like such as... it's a Sig. Chances are it's going to be above average and probably a fantastic gun for whatever use you intend. However, being Sigs' take on the 1911 platform and that they may be the (not without purpose, consideration or appreciation for Browning's design decisions more than a century ago) most deviant 1911. Sigs' are squared off, not beautifully curved like Colts'; Sigs' 1911s focus quality on different components than the Colt platform; it's a different gun, period, and not worth getting upset about. I love 1911s and I love Sigs. Good == good. But apples aren't oranges, and a Sig 1911 isn't a Colt. So give it a fucking rest. It's a Sig. Imagine if Glock made a "1911"... I'm getting a headache.
