Omg yes I’ve been traveling for 8 months now and I’ve been doing it with a 40 liter bag. It drives me crazy how little space I have, but still can’t be bothered to spend money on a new bag hahah
As someone that lives in Australia, it’s so interesting to see the different things you packed and what you did/didn’t recommend. I wear jeans all the time even in summer but I can also completely understand why you don’t recommend them as Australian weather is very hot and not everyone is used to it. I’m planning on doing a contiki so have been watching a heap of backpack packing videos and this was really helpful!
Great video! You can definitely pack less than you think you need. Often you end up just wearing the same things and what feels the most comfortable, at least that's the case for me. ☺
I am really interested in this bag and the video is really useful. I will do backpacking for 3 months in Asia, do you regret those 50l or was it definitively enough ?
Thanks for saying to go 65L plus. I'm tired of everyone saying go less. I am a minimalist and whilst I can pack everything into a 45L pack, I don't want to if I'm going on months long trips :) Edit: stop telling me what I should do. I know what I'm doing and I'll do as I like. Like I said, I can pack minimally but I DON'T WANT TO!!
honestly I agree in some way, but especially for long trips you also don't want to be carrying too much as well. You're going to get really tired of taking that many things with you on your back every time you travel. It's about what you prefer :)
This definitely comes down to personal preference :) I always pack carry-on only, I have the Opsrey Farpoint 40l which is perfect for me, because I don't want to pay for extra luggage fees and when I move around a lot, it's just much easier to carry less. :)
@Tessa and @Milla - definitely personal preference. I have always only travelled with a 35L or 45L backpack (unless I'm a moving countries/cities) and always dreamed of having one of those huge backpacks. Now that I can afford it and have a reason to do so, I'm definitely going bigger :)
Well the biggest reason is that you're the one that is gonna have to carry the backpack... If it's heavy and you have to walk a lot it's not the best. But if you want to pack a lot of stuff then you shoudn't care about what everyone else of saying
She didn't use a tonne of that stuff so you don't need to take more, she didn't need even that size! take what you absolutely love and be able to go carry on only by going 45L on longer trips you should never take more, you take enough for two weeks and do laundry! she didn't need to size up she just needed to pack better!
I did not watch the whole video, kept skipping parts so I might have missed some things and did not finish watching. It's so crazy to see how some people take 65 L to travel for 3 months, or a friend of mine went to the Philippines for a month with 70 and then you got minimalists who take 40 (Minimalist Traveller) to be out and about for 6 months... Brittany Taylor travels with 19 L. Soooo many shoes... so many things that you seemed to take and not use, even forgot you had some of them. We definitely pack waaaay too much. Isn't clothing for a week enough? Some stuff can be washed by hand. Anyway, I hope you still managed to enjoy the trip. You seem lovely! :)
Not a chance that must have weighed more than she did lol! ball park capacity limit for carry on is a 45L! never ask a UA-camr... you need to check your airlines baggage rules on size of bag and weight allowance for the ticket you bought and always add extra allowance several days departure!
@@Lara-cs5pl There is NO airline that will allow her blue forclaz backpack as a carry on as it is is well over the dimensions allowed ... it HAS to be checked
@@Lara-cs5pl with the added bit stuffed at the top then it takes it WELL over the limit and no airline allows 26 cm especially how much she stuffed it, the shell without packing is still technically over and with the added bulk is WELL over plus with the weight and the huge amount of liquids combined with the other things it all makes this luggage too big for a carry on ....
Absolutely loved this video as someone who is considering going solo travelling! Where is your cobalt blue ribbed top from which you are wearing in the video? Xx
In terms of packing - everything I took with me is included within this video! In terms of budget, this is completely dependable on where you want to go, how long for, what type of accommodation you're going to stay in etc. so I would recommend making a rough plan of what you'd like to do and see and then making a budget from there!
I like that I don't see a rolling bag yet. Lol. I am so done with rollers. Not worth it, especially for long trips. Backpacks all the way! You always think rollers will be great and easy, but it's not. Sometimes you're on uneven surfaces like cobbled streets, and rolling bags are the pits in those situations. I also don't pack outfits for every day. God what a waste. Lol. If you can do laundry, nobody cares if you wear a pant or short more than once in a week. 😋
That's a lot of stuff to have to carry on your back, i think because your bag can fit you just pack things in it, next time force yourself to use a smaller bag.
You just packed your fears. Way over packed but you're young and will learn. Like learning how to wash your clothes in the sink or shower. I traveled to Africa and the airline lost my bag so I wore my travel outfit for a month and a half. It was so easy and no one cared including me.
Sorry to hear about you loosing your baggage! I think packing for travelling is such an individual and personal thing - I would say to just take what you're comfortable with! I felt like I packed enough for me and what I wanted and didn't feel stressed that I didn't pack certain items. Some people would be happy with a lot less :)
She certainly did, when traveling you have to be ral with yourself half the stuff in her backpack she could just get once she was in a different city. 35L is more than enough. Streamlined wardrobe, wash as you go along, and toiletries when needed.

I travelled with a 65l and it was awful carrying it around. I'm gona try with a 45l next time.
I really recommend watching backpacking bananas and her packing videos ❤

I have a question. How have you never used a washing machine? What have you washed your clothes with before you traveled?
I meant I have never used a washing machine myself! Someone has always washed my clothes for me!
jesus christ
Great Video and I think you’re the most realistic traveler

where did you get your necklaces from ?! i love them so much!
Did you get the necklaces from your travels? I love the one with the starfish! ❤

I can't believe how all those clothes fit in your backpack 😳😳😳😳
Super helpful!!! Thank you!
This is so informative thank you! Quick question, could you get away with using this bag as a carry on?

I also own this exact bag and the measurements are just right for some airlines but all have different rules

If I go to the link I can't find this backpack....there are lots of others 😢
did you bring you backpack as a carryon on did you check yours the whole time?
It is WAY too big for a carry on ..

So true! Who needs 13 tops? I’m an over packer and even I was shocked at the amount of clothes. Now my bags are just filled with SPF lol 😂
Love your channel
Thank you!!
