I did. Just recently, in fact. Showed dad this very video, starting at Nasty Majesty.
Keep in mind that I'm in my mid-30's and my dad is a freelance composer with a heavy focus on ambient/atmospheric and classical sounds.
He...was super supportive and willing to go along with me. But he thinks it's super weird and doesn't get the appeal, what, with them being cartoons and the warbly voices and all. XD

I love how during half of the show Pearl is doing the weirdest and most random things. Especially when she isn't singing. It's like a 2 year old who wants to dance but are slightly hesitant to.
Pearl is having a good time that’s what she’s doing
I don't see anyone else commenting on this but...A team choreographed and animated ALL OF THEIR DANCE MOVES AND THEY'RE SO FLUID AND NATURAL! I know that's a thing for all vocaloid concerts but like with these two there's the added challenge of projecting their individual personalities through the way they move (for example Marina is a lot of fluid hip motion while Pearl is all hype and energy with her added hand, head, and foot movements). And then, they still manage to sync up with each other and seem like an actual performing duo with chemistry. Like, HOW MUCH WORK WENT INTO THIS?!

The moment where Pearl and Marina start a wave at 26:03 always gets me, I just remember how Splatoon came out of nowhere in 2014-15 as a brand new IP, and now the idols are on a real stage with an entire audience waving their hands in unison :)

Team Lorem there are official pronunciations online which we call lyrics, there is sadly no official translation / lyrics yet.

There is something about octo expansion songs that ALWAYS tear me up,,,, I loved Splatoon 2 so much, though I love Deep cut and the Squid Sisters, Off the hook will always, and forever, be the best band to me. They're just,,,, I love them so much, if anything bad happens to them in Splatoon 3s DLC, I will CRY lmao

From what I could tell, according to the story in Splatoon 3, they went off to another city and joined up with another band to form a bigger band. I could be wrong as the information was vague. But I agree. I hope we see Pearl and Marina again in the future. They are the best!

The “-San” part of the names is just a formal way of saying their name in Japanese, their basically just yelling out marina
None of the other concerts can match the absolute hype of this one. This goes so incredibly hard, the energy is out of this world, I love every second of it. Was here 4 years ago and I’m back again regularly, props to the band and the whole audience for making it so damn great!

It's very odd if you think about the influence of games like Half Life have contributed to the making of Splatoon.
I know that it's an odd comparison, but like the innovations of the films The Wizard of Oz and The Jazz Singer are still able to be observed in films from Lawrence of Arabia to Avengers Endgame, you can see some notable staples from those games made so long ago even in Splatoon.

Confession: I would KILL to see an event similar to this in celebration of Nintendo's 150th anniversary (2039), using the same holographic projections and a similar band, but as a massive crossover celebration event hosted by Mario, Isabelle and Kirby, with various other Nintendo characters coming on stage to perform remixed versions of popular Nintendo songs. Here's a list of ideas (Note: All characters who are confirmed to know how to talk will do so - all others will communicate as implied in the games):
- Mario & Isabelle (Lifelight)
- Frye, Shiver and Big Man (Anarchy Rainbow)
- Mayor Pauline (Jump Up, Super Star and Break Free: Lead the Way)
- K.K. Slider (Welcome Horizons) and Chrissy and Francine (Bubblegum K.K.)
