@Essel Ellis he does like his booze though. Social confidence and numbing of difficult emotions and memories - I imagine that would appeal to him. Does come at a cost, though. He'll need to moderate it. Perhaps his earlier drug use helps him know how to do that - I suppose we'll just wait and see. His comments about Depp certainly made me think he's probably better at that than Johnny seems to be...

I'd say it's much better and smarter to look and know both sides of the coin.
Imagine the hosts of all the shows he has been on and the shock from the one doing the interview, to see just how intelligent and beautiful mind and heart this artist holds within himself. Music is artistic in many forms, and almost all the people who don't like his music or his appearance judge who he really is because of the imagery he presents in his music.
People judge one side of the coin without even getting a glimpse of the other side. And it's the same with people who fall in love with his interviews and refuse to listen to his work.
No judgements here from my end. Simply the shock value from an observation.
      It's just M-Obscene.

As a fan of Manson's music and philosophical perspective I can relate to the reality of missing a father. My dad passed away on September 9th of this year and I still find myself crying, texting his phone or calling it, posting on his Facebook expecting him to answer. It's one of the worst feelings in the world to lose a parent unexpectedly. Always thought my dad would live well into his nineties or one hundreds. Never was I expecting for him to pass away at the age of sixty-six.
Seriously cherish your parents my friends. I find myself feeling massive guilt for not being a better son or making wiser decisions.

Your comment really spoke to me… I haven’t lost a parent yet… and I pray to god they both live a long long life. But I find myself watching my father age and my mom get sick and I dread the day that either one pass away. I’m an only child- so they are literally all I have as my grandparents are gone and I have not found my own person to be with (as a spouse, partner or whatnot). I find it scary, and lonely- my greatest fear to be alone in life.
I hope you are doing well. Take care.

To me, he is a well spoken, intellectual, self deprecating, introspective, over the top artist that chose to become a rockstar without any real musical talent when he started and I have always loved his work. He got what it was really early on and I always felt like he was almost more of a curator of culture more than a musician. He does it so well too. I always love to watch his interviews and I think I've seen every one. I haven't missed one since I watched him get interviewed by Bill O'Reilly. It was the most fun thing I have ever watched because I truly thought Bill underestimated him and thought he was going to be interviewing some unintelligent irresponsible Rockstar and was basically planning on doing a morality hit piece and got a big surprise.

Well, holidays are fake, and a excuse for people to become conjoined with each other instead of just being like that every day of the year and in time without having a made up "holiday" to bring them together.
Not everyone has the same brain structure in the realm of thoughts and thinking. But of course, there are also the factors of time off from work for a good set amount of time because of seasonal weather. And of course, in the eyes that only want to judge and hate with their outlook on the lives of others, all they can simply say and accuse of people doing things differently than the "Norm" of most of society, all they say is "You're not normal, that's not normal"
It's incredible how I've read that some people dont like, or never got into his music, but they like to see his interviews.
It's better to see and know the two sides of the coin people, maybe that way they'll understand so much more of the world they live in and are a part of.

2017 was a tough year for Manson, yet he still managed to put on some of the best shows I've ever seen him play, right after his father had died in July and then only a few weeks after breaking his leg. I'm so thankful for this man and his art. He's a fucking legend.

While Manson was born in the same year Charles Manson fucked shit up, I was born in the same year Marilyn Manson started fucking shit up, 1990. Consequently, I have seen him only a few years later. If you are inferring that he was even better in the late 90s, then I'm just going to have to remind you that he was also 20 years younger in the late 90s. His incredible live performances (among other things) in the 90s paved the way for his career and don't take away from his most recent performances.

Agreed. Manson and his band are on fire again. I do miss Twiggy on stage, but it's great seeing Manson smile again. 30 years after coming up with this whole rock star concept he's still far from being a nostalgia act. His new material is the strongest part of his shows. 2018 will be a huge year for Manson. He deserves it, and I'm sure his parents would be proud as FUCK.

I know that this is an old interview but I'm sure he still misses him just as much as then. I think if parents were more like his and others that let their kids express themselves the way they want. I think it would be better for kids self esteem. I'm my daughters biggest cheerleader and she's very different where she is such a girly girl and it took me 10yrs to get out of a bad situation let's say to be able to express myself the way I finally wanted to. His mother too. He's so hurt he didn't get to tell her goodbye before she lost her senses. I remember seeing his Dad in an interview & he said something like "You can't change someone.. you just love them & accept them for who they are". He said that at the time he was dating ERW.. I believe that's where he got the inspiration for saying that. Hugh also said he didn't trust her, that he noticed Manson wasn't being himself & thought she was controlling. Boy was he right. She says his full name on interviews just to say his Dad's name to hurt him. The picture that was used for her BS documentary, she was standing in front of a Dogwood tree. Manson loves Dogwood trees bc they had one in his backyard when he was young, and his mother told him the legend of the Dogwood & told him the leaves represents the stigmata of Christ. He buried his parents ashes in a Dogwood tree 💙

His humour goes over the interviewer's head for the most part, i'm on a Manson binge atm, been a fan of his since I was 15, i'm 35 now lol, not listened to him religiously or anything but that album the last tour on earth was the anthem of my teens and i always go back to it, and check out his new stuff. His voice, singing and talking normally, is ear nectar to me.
