I've watched tons of videos about viewport optimization or killing render times, but this particular video is by far the most informative video about optimization. Especially the one that combines "low poly objects with high res textures"... Thats something new. Glad that I've come across this video.
I work in CPU so these tips are really useful for me, Thanks. Some tips I would like to add: --> You could decrease the resolution of the render for better speed, it might be useful for test renders. --> In the render settings, in the film tab, you can check transparent. So it wouldn't render the background. --> You can decrease the values in the light paths tab(in render settings) --> You can render parts of the objects and then combine them using Blender's compositor and View layers (ua-cam.com/video/o8WU8bcckZQ/v-deo.html)
This Man's dedication to his subscriber his next level 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I literally a week before commented on his previous video asking render settings for beginners, he did a super explained video for render settings within 2-3 days .... Thanks a lot man
It seems like silly advice, but I didn't realize just how limited I was by my computer until I upgraded. I was working on a base model iMac with integrated graphics and it worked but I was constantly hitting a wall whenever I tried to do anything beyond the most basic stuff. Having a decent computer that can chew threw heavy scenes is like being able to breathe again after being underwater. It opens up so many possibilities. Totally worth it if you can manage.
Hey Max, Ducky 3D recommended you, come to find out I had already watched a bunch of your videos already. Your scenes are inspirational, great job, thank you for all the mentoring!
im working without a Gpu and i have to say that it does limit what i can actually do vs what i imagine to do.... still saving up for a Gpu,thanks for the motivation great video as always, please keep posting more
Wow, this makes since. I can’t wait to apply this on my slow computer. I could never understand why it took so long to render out anything using a big render view port on my own computer until now. Thank you for making this useful tutorial. Explaining, your process, and thoughts on making a better experience using Blender. They should make your layout into a Production layout as a menu opinion button you can press, in Blender!
Turbo Tools V4, its a paid add-on, it reduced my render times significantly. Heavy scene, high high quality, 1 frame was 3.5 minutes before, 35s after, and thats on ultra settings. I am not affiliated in any way, and was always very skeptical about such things, but I am very impressed 😮
Example is you can optimize 2K, 4K, 8K texturs for only close ups renders. There is no need to have thousands of 4K textures a few feet away that the camera can't even focus thus its pixelated by the light glare for example. Speaking of the UV Map png photos layed on an street sign you know. Literally no need if the camera is a few feet away can't even see it well in dark conditions as well
Hi, great tutorial, I completely agree on how having a slow gpu teaches you how to keep your scenes as optimized as possible. One question, I see you have your render engine set to cycles yet you manage to have a nice bloom in your viewport yet I haven't managed to find how. Could you tell me how? Great channel btw!
How would these tips aply to someone starting in vfx? Making set extension with projections ...low poly as much as possible? Getting details from pictures instead 3 moddeling i asume? Any tips in this regard? Thx
hey max i have been following your youtube videos for a while now and i am glad to say it has maade changes in my workflow but i was wondering if you could make one video on how you do texturing and your workflow while doing it i struggle in texturing and i try to see other people's workflow on how they do it and it helps a bit
Hi, i make hard surface models and last time i noticed that after render, my model's edges are pixelated and not sharp and clean as in the render mode virwport...i render with 250 samples (even when i raise samples it wont solve anything), resolution is 2560 x 1440, i try filter size from 0-1.5 and still nothing...any suggestions please ?
Any idea on why i'm not able to do the Control/Command B tecnhique at 2:11? I've followed all the steps, but for some reason the area around my camera is still transparent and not grey while in Render view.
Thank you much for your videos. You reklindled my Motivation to get big in 3D. Because of you, i bought a new Drive only to build my 3d library on. Can i ask you one question tho? where did you get all those "scale reference humans"? You seem to have a lot of those. Can you recommend a site or a package that isnt to pricy? Love your work!
wooooow. where have you been a day ago when i spent sooo much time with test-rendering a candle, with different amount of light, trying to find the correct one) 6:40 - is an excellent way to do it!!! thanks so much, dude!!!! work on GPU 1050, even not 1060, so all your tips are really in time) and the greatest thanks to @Ducky3d for sending to your channel!
how do i get my viewport to show the render in the corner, i can only split my screen vertically or horizontally, not that little rendered box in the corner, please explain
hey bro. i wanna suggest a video like tackling on the business side of 3d like how to get on commissions and stuff (pls not fiver). it would be nice topic.
Making changes to your GPU really depends on your motherboard, CPU, pc case, cooling and power supply. It will be a big mistake to think that you can simply take out your current GTX GPU and replace it with an RTX 3090. It's going to be a more costly endeavour.
GTX 1080 is not even near "bad" or "slow". I started on a 4th gen CPU with integrated graphics. and now I have a GTX 1660 S which is still slower than your 1080 lol. Thanks for the video anyway.
* cries in a corner with my integrated graphics card * lol just kidding, I'm thankful to even have a device I can render on :) Thank you for these helpful tips!
I bought my GPU at the worst possible time but I don't regret it because it literally paid itself off straight away from the time it saved me on the commissions I was doing. I know not everyone has that opportunity but for anyone making money from art I can't recommend it enough.
how did you get that shading pie menu to pop up? letter z. :( there's a billion shortcuts in blender. I got the render window now but I don't have a black box representing my camera view. it's just all gray or black depending how I color my world node. Why do I not see the limit/edge of my camera view? thx
Super helpful video man - was just wondering, is there a way to keep all the different viewports in the same location for each Blender project (e.g the render viewport in the bottom right like you have it) - anytime I create a new project it resets to default
How can a 3060 be like 400€ and a 3090 fucking 1.200€ 😩.. like how much difference is there? would it be worth buying a cheaper one? or do you recommend just to wait a bit and go for the 3090 when i can afford it?.. Tho like in 5 years or so there will be the 8090 or summn lmao
I don't think it actually helps using denoising on while rendering the viewport and letting it start from sample 1. Because than it has to render and denoise at the same time. Your wasting computing power

Altough I'm about to drop in a 3090 in the pc this is a great video! Really like your setup with the different windows. Thanks bud

been following you since you release your first two NFT with your ads showing on Instagram and look at you, you have come so far. pretty cool.

GREAT STUFF!!!!
Please make a tutorial on "How to get octane type render using cycles or eevee"
Your renders are amazing 🤩😍
Can't wait to get my new build soon. Originally ordered a 4080 but the order got cancelled so I'm taking it as a sign to get a 4090 instead.

It's because he has a "Principled volume" to his scene, you can see the nodes at the begining of the video
@@bricedeguigne4527 got it! Thanks!

You can also just set render camera view only instead of CTRL B
I dont even have a dedicated gpu

You have to be in render view.
@@florjansatler1269 Thanks for the tip. I figured it out a while ago. 🤙🏻
Hey Max, can you do realistic water tutorial in blender please?
@1:21 You literally read my mind and answered my question lol!
The last tip shortens the story 🙃
Thanks ! I love this channel !

*Cries in CPU renders*
Max is on the grindset!
That control B thing for restricting the camera borders doesn't seem to work on Blender 3.4?
Edit: Never mind, it only works in Cycles, not in Eevee
You said "get some commissions", but my question is, how do i go about getting them? seriously i feel lost when it comes to that.
I started on an i7 2600 with integrated graphics, shit hurt.
how to create rain in blender? video is amazing btw
Hey can you please tell me where you get those people models from to use in the scenes?
Thank you!
must be an older blender version. mine has the little pointy arrows still on the sides even after hiding everything.
Thank you sir😊

Great video, but getting a 4090 at current pricing generally is a bad advice. The 30 series is a good investment for sure.

how to make the bloom effect like you did in video ?
best video
I used to have gt 710 when i started but now still have 1650s

What can I say for mine lol 😆

Blender is free, but a PC that can handle it is too expensive for most people. So Blender is only for a select few people.

how to do this renders in a laptop with intel i5 13th gen rtx 4050 and 8 gb ram???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Create the workspace how you like. File -> Defaults -> Save Startup file. Thats you man enjoy
My laptop has no gpu😢
Me: my 1050 is pretty badass, i should be able to render decently
max: so i started with a 1060 and it was crap

Blender is either GPU or CPU dependent on render choice, a GPU wouldn't bottle neck with renders this is much more common in gaming though.
Yes it does, you have a certain amount of Bram. The more data and especially hi res textures you throw into render you eat away all that VRAM.
First 💪🏼
