Incredible. This video is so high quality. I am so impressed by the way you make it so interesting to learn. The last couple of weeks, I've been really wanting to learn this to apply to fashion school and was so frustrated because I did not know where to learn what I wanted to do. This entire tutorial nailed it. Everything in one video. Dude. You are a virtual hero. Thank you so much. If only I could say that to you in person. Keep it up brodie!!!
If you are a fashion student I suggest looking up Browzewear Univesity and CLO3D UA-cam channel (beginners guide video series). You'll probably improve faster when patternmaking and draping tools are an option. You'll also grasp the concept of UV maps (very very important part of 3D design) better when you use patternmaking for 3D apparel. That's when you can safely choose between doing 3D fashion for manufacturing purposes or artistic purposes. If you like the 2nd option better, switch to something fancier like Blender and come back to this video, it is a neat guide.
if you want to be a pro in this dont bother with blender's fabric sim engine, just learn Marvelous Designer (or CLO3D if you are patterning for factory manufacturing)
Absolutely stunned at how easy you make the look and how seamlessly it is presented. I've watched a lot of Blender tutorials for clothing and tried to do it myself a fair amount. I've never seen it so well presented and there are a huge number of excellent suggestions and tips I've never seen before in this video.
Not gonna Lie the breakdown of the cloth sim in blender. Is exactly what I needed! I've been struggling to figure it out and you've made it easier for me to digest. Once I get something done, using the cloth sim i'm @-ing for thanks.
grateful for this - had an idea of doing this with the clothing mock ups that i'm making and i just never knew people were doing this blessings for the free game
great tutorial as always....one thing to mention in the COLLISION properties set the thickness outer to something low, like 0.002 otherwise no matter how low you make the cloth collision value the cloth will still sit unrealistically off the avatar.
This is such a complete tutorial. I was just curious about how it worked and you made me feel I could even do it myself 🥺 Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
Yo this is a truly excellent tutorial my dude! The pacing, editing and information all works really well together. Thanks for sharing this with us my guy!
24:34 another way (non destruct) to subdivide your mesh is by Geo Nodes just adding a subDiv mesh node between the 2 default nodes that blender gaves you. hope it helps, thanks for the video, very useful. Cheers!
dope vid. if your a trained fashion designer i would actually recommend using professional software such as clo3d or something similar. this allows you you to draft patterns, join the pieces and them import them into blender.
@@MustacheMerlin MD is more geared towards film and gaming while CLO is tailored for fashion since CLO is implemented with more advanced 2D pattern drafting functions as well as functions that makes it easy for garment production. As far as digital fashion is concerned, both have unique tools that are helpful depending on your specific workflow, whether you come from a 3D/animation background or from fashion background.
Second Life has been doing 3d format fashion for years. These days it looks absolutely incredible. Better than anything Balenciaga has put out. Many fantastic original creators there to check out.
Really great tutorial! I've been getting into digital fashion for VRChat, and even though people have been making assets for it for years, this has been super helpful despite only being uploaded 3 weeks ago. Thanks so much!

He has a whole course on MD / Clo which is really damn good... I think this is just to show how it's possible in Blender too
He has vids using MD, so I'd assume he knows and probably uses other Fashion software as well.
@@ilyme I understand. I was talking to anyone formally trained in fashion design. This is great for people who have no knowledge of pattern making
CLO/MD two sides, same company. But CLO is for the real world fashion, creates Flat Lays, measurements etc. MD is gonna be virtual. Games etc.
This is absolute stunning! Just bought your Digital Fashion VERYBASICS package. Thanks for the great work!
