Got the Rad Rover delivered today. Set up what without a hitch, took me about an hour doing it by myself. Quality all the way. Went on for a short spin and smooth as silk. Can't wait to get out and ride it for on.
I ordered mine in June and it arrived this morning (early August). It took me about 1.5 hours to unpack, assemble and adjust the bike. It’s surprisingly powerful and was a lot of fun to ride before it started raining!
Put my radrover together and took it for a ride and it works great , thanks rad power bikes 👍
Great video, had mine fully assembled in about a half hour just following these instructions
Thanks! I hope you’re excited to get out on the road. How about a race next time? 😎🔧
The Rad manual says you need to torque several of the fittings. I have ordered a torque wrench and peddle wrench .
@@marklipkus7063 lol, hope you ordered a pedal wrench!
What size pedal wrench is required?
@@marklipkus7063 where did you get the torque wrench? NM range?
Well, I’m just so excited waiting for my bike to arrive!
😎
Mine arrives today Aug 25 can't wait to go riding.
I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a Rover and doing my research. This how-to video is excellent. It is well done, helpful, and definitely a reflection of a quality eBike and company. Respect.
Thank you so much for the thoughtful compliment. We will pass this along to the team. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Experience team at - radpowerbikes.com/support. 😊
Videos are worth so much more than a manual. Much much easier.
Do you buy chance know if the front suspension fork is any good
Got my RadRover 5 in 4 weeks. Front disc brake was singing and centering the caliper fixed it. When cutting off those nice big zip ties when unpacking, cut it below the catch incase you want to reuse them
Thanks! Just finished setting up my Rad Rover 5 and it was a breeze following this tutorial. Can’t wait to get it out and ride it now!
That's great to hear, Stevo! I'm glad you're excited about your new RadRover. Get out there and start rolling up that odometer ✌️😎
The Fork protector Plate is a great idea =)
Great bike, great service. Loved the video and put on 10 miles and a lot of EASY HILLS in my maiden voyage
Hey John! This is so great to hear! Welcome to the Rad crew. We are cheering you on as you crush those hills!
Great video! Had my new RadRover 5 out the door and riding it within an hour after it arrived using only the tools it comes with. Nicely done Rad Power Bikes!
So it came with a pedal tool?
@@slbynum This is what I was wondering. I'm going to assume that the wrenches they include will get the job done.
Did it come with grease and an air pump?
Those were 100% perfect directions. Thank you so much
So glad to hear it was helpful, Barry! Let us know if anything else comes up! 😊
My Rover gets here tomorrow!!! SOOOOOO Excited!!!!
Woohoo!! Let the adventure begin! 😄
Just set mine up. Pretty easy. Great video! Only watch out I found was make sure your front brake is released when you put your front wheel on.
Thanks for the tip for your fellow Rad riders! Hope you have a great first ride.
We just got the ReadyTo Ship notice on our RAD bikes - whoo hoo can’t wait! L
So excited to get you riding, Joan! 😎🙌
@@RadPowerElectricBikes gonna see if these 3 old dogs can learn some new tricks! look out Mukilteo!

Cody Martin bro same I ordered mine June 6th can you let me know if u hear anything about your bike?

@@jlung051 its awesome dude, front wheel came scratched up and looks like the factory took a sharpie and tried to make a quick fix.. not sure how it passed QA but ill definitely be sending an email and getting a new one thats for sure. I did take it for an 11 mile break in and it works haha its definitely dope
Did you receive it?
Awesome way to go Rad ,now I know exactly what to expect and when putting the bike together when it arrives. I appreciate that as always the customer service is unmatched .
I've been researching bikes of all types fir3 years and finally pulled the trigger and ordered mine yesterday. .
I found Rad bikes being by far not only best value for the buck .but many mire expensive bikes have cheaper components then the Rad , Or still catch extra for things that already come Stick 8n the Rad such as Fenders ,tail lights ,comfortable seat , and a better drive train some more expensive bikes . plus the fact that everything can easily be upgraded and or refreshed when that time comes . in fact many com0anies offer after market up grades and.accessaries says a lot about the quality of the bike itself Espeacially considering the price point being at 1499 .ofcoyrse you'd gave to expect room for upgrades at that price point. But if be willing to bet that the Rad is much more comfortable then my mud drive bike that cost over twice as much .and the Rad offers a half twist throttle wich my mud drive does not .and much more of course too .
I ordered one over 5 weeks ago in Europe as "in stock". Rad Power Bikes in Utrecht is unfortunately unable to deliver bikes to customers at the moment.
NOOO i odered one 2 days ago from germany ..... i thought it would be fast delivery cause its only like 2 hour drive from my place...
i hope i get it fast cause i dont want to ride the train anymore with covid and stuff...
maybe i call them monday and ask if i can get it myself instead of delivery
Got mine today!!
Get mine in mid August, CAN'T WAIT!!!
Just ordered two weeks ago..... How long were you waiting?
How is he measuring to torque on the pedal wrench?
That's what I was wondering.
Sincere question: these comments can sound like a question of whether one is using a level when hanging pictures. :-) So what's the risk if the pedals are not tightened to exact specifications? What if off by 5%, 1%, or 10%? What if it's done for first x miles of use, before one gets a torque wrench, or gets to a cycle shop?
I'm asking these, to those raising these concerns, as someone who lives a couple hours from a bike shop and without prior bike repair skills. I can get tools, and can learn. I'm wondering how critical these concerns are, and for how long to be worried when first mounting them, and asking as much for the sake of others in a similar position.
@@CharlieArehart1 Amazon has a one day delivery on PRO BIKE TOOL 1/4 Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench Set for $69.97. I tightened the pedals without torquing them and checked them a couple times since. They are still tight. The rear axle nuts want 40 Nm. The stem wants 15 and 20 Nm. I think those are important. I would torque everything before riding.
@@olewornhat thanks, and that tool tip will help many I'm sure (and me). And as for the importance of torque on the axle nuts, I totally get that. Buy again, I was responding to the comments about the pedals, as if those were as critical to get torqued right. You seem to be agreeing that perhaps it's not. Am still open to being schooled, and for the sake of others who may read this thread.
Can someone convert the torque values for the handlebars to inch lbs please ? And where do i get a pedal wrench ?
10 Nm = 88.5 inch pounds or 7.4 foot pounds
15 Nm = 132.8 inch pounds or 11.1 foot pounds
Can somebody explain me what pedal greece is? Or pedal griece? Is it a sort lube?
Rad power bikes should introduce a mid drive trike with 3 24” fat tires. Just my thoughts. Thanks.
What kind of bike grease would you suggest for the pedals and seat post? There are conflicting opinions online so it'd probably be better to hear it from the manufacturers 😁
Hi Laura, there a lot of brands out there that will work just fine but our mechanic used a polylube from Park Tools for this assembly demonstration.
@@RadPowerElectricBikes Okay, thank you so much!
Can I use wet lubricant instead of grease to set the padel ??
Received my RadRover5 yesterday totally up damaged even though Fedex had the box upside down and then turned in on end to wheel it into my garage. Great packaging prevented any damage. Assembly was a breeze the video is great. The front fork was already rotated which thru me a curve for a moment but the video helped me figure that out. The only thing that happened was the seat post got scratched up a bit but I think that was my fault for not loosening the quick disconnect enough. I will fix it with a little bit of flat black paint. It is always a joy to assemble something that is well built, were everything fits, and the instructions are great. Charging the battery now, tomorrow I ride! Oh I live in Columbia Mo so if anyone near here needs help with assembly I’m in.

Can the fork protecter plate be reused for transporting the bike with the front wheel removed? That way it would fit in the bed of my truck and be able to close the tailgate.
Hey Thomas! Sorry about the delay! If you're still wondering - Yea, you could use the fork plate to stabilize the bike. You'll want to make sure the frame of the bike is secured to prevent from tipping, but it will provide some stability.
Is possible to drive RadRover with pillion?
Hey there! At this time the only models that allow for passenger-carrying are The RadRunner 2, RadRunner Plus, and the RadWagon 4. No other models have the ability to withstand the weight of a passenger.
Can you operate this without the fenders? I especially want to remove the rear fender.
Question how the hell am I supposed to know what 35 newton meters feels like with a pedal wrench?
I figured it by watching BACK TO THE FUTURE lol
Waiting for mine to arrive. Does an adjustable wrench or other option work for the pedal wrench?
Yes
I want this version but with a fold option.
Is the Newton meter wrench necessary or is there another way to tighten the bolts without it?
I only have a torque wrench for car wheels. I have 2 of these on order and don't plan on buying a smaller torque wrench just for this.
how is this unit different than the himiway cruiser?
How do u take the peddles off
Hi Anthony! This article should be able to help you take the pedals off. radpowerbikes.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047357534-Colored-Grips-and-Pedals-Installation-Guide
Do you need the bike on in order to ride, Can you ride it when its turned off?
Tanner Plays it doesn’t need to be on to ride it but the bike is 69 pounds so it might take some effort to get going
Is the current Radrhino 100% the same as the Radrover 5?
Is the torque wrench using regular bolt connectors or Allen connectors?
Hey hey! Sorry about the delay! If you're still wondering - In this video we're using the torque wrench with Allen bits, but torque wrenches allow you to use other bits as well. 🙂
It would have been nice to include a small amount of grease. That's the only thing really missing here. Looks like I'm going to have to install the pedals without it and bike to a shop and have them remove the pedals and reinstall them with waterproof grease.
Hi! I thought the same thing when I got mine a week ago, and never even bothered to check the spot the pedals go. Theres already a glob of grease in there so you dont need to get your own. Theres also a wrench of the right size in the toolkit so you dont need a pedal wrench.
Where do you get a 35 Nm pedal wrench?
brickbatz a normal wrench will do just fine
@@gavinquigley1616 Yeah, thanks for replying. I bought a pedal wrench on Amazon. I was just wondering who would even sell a pedal torque wrench. My Rad Rover is supposed to be delivered this month. I'm starting worry that it won't with only 7 days left of this month.
brickbatz I ordere mine June 6th and just heard about it yesterday on July 23 it is estimated to arrive on July 30th I live in Virginia btw hoped this helped! Also when did you order yours etc?
@@gavinquigley1616 I paid on 06/11/20 and like you I got my order confirmation a couple days ago. It says it's getting my order ready. I can't track it yet.

Thanks Rad!
RECYCLE ACCORDING TO RULES AND STUFF K
I figures the Rover comes with fenders now. I had to pay $89 for mine.
Yep, E-bikes are evolving and getting better so quickly. That is actually my biggest conundrum right now...get in the game now or wait another year or two and see how much better they get?
C. T. 2020 model is what they should be imo so it’s a good jumping on
Here's to hoping that all hardware is present and undamaged!
Yes! Also, if anything arrives that's not in top shape please reach out to our Product Support team for assistance at - radpowerbikes.com/support. We'll also be around if you need any additional help with the assembly process!
What happened to the rear light tall mount on rad rover 5?
Hey! Sorry about the delay! Our RadRover 5 still have a taillight. Thanks for riding with us! 😎
How critical is the torque wrench? Can one just hand tighten?
Yes but it’s not ideal. Get one if you can.
@@vx870 Why buy something I will only use once?
We recommend using a torque wrench during assembly but if you do not want to purchase one another option is looking into professional assembly options. We have a fleet of mobile bike mechanics, called Rad Mobile, in many zip codes. We've also partnered with velofix, another mobile servicing options. You can find more detail on these various options here: www.radpowerbikes.com/pages/rad-service.
