Thank you! True Story: The only bicycle service personnel available in my town rejected my request to assemble the gear train. So i tried it myself watching this video. It is working perfectly fine. All credits to you. Huge knowledge gained.
Best shifting adjustment troubleshooting video ever!! Honestly it can't get better than this! No gimmicks, no tricks, no show offs. Just pure awesomeness!
THIS is the way a how-to video is made! PLEASE teach the internet how to do this for car repair, guitar lessons, washing your dog, trimming bonsai, ... Beautiful, understandable instructions, great camera work, excellent graphics on top of the shots.
Bear in mind Park Tool has a larger budget than someone making videos about their particular hobby. In terms of delivering the content and clarity, this is as good as it gets. No messing around, no waffle, clear instructions throughout. I watch Park Tool videos to learn how to maintain my bikes, if I want to be entertained I'll watch a comedy video.
I have a LOT less anxiety about figuring this out. Thanks for a CLEAR, methodical, logical, professional video. Increased my confidence level instantly. Update: I got it done. Best shifting this bike has been in a decade...it's 24 years old! Replaced rear derailleur cable, made my own housing, lubed/cleaned shifter lever, and feel like I could fix anything on my bikes now!! Thanks!
I have watched SO many of these it's not funny. But THIS guy is by far the best. His instruction and visuals really work. Park Tools, keep them coming.
I'm officially a Park Tool groupie. I am in the process of building up my own 80's mountain bike and have zero experience. This video is so thorough and well done I'm going to keep watching it well after my bike is complete. You made what seemed like a very complicated process at first very simple and straightforward. Can't thank you all enough!
Calvin should be putting up on the pedestal for every biking community. He's passionate and thoroughly explains the process. What a privilege to learn from these videos!!
I remember when I was young I felt confident to 'fix' my bike. Let's just say by the time I was done... I had less gears than when I started 😅 Thanks to Park Tools we can now maintain our bikes. These are the best, most clear and well edited videos on the internet I guess! Thank you Park Tool!!
@@davidhilton5414 51 years young here. I just finished watching this video while working on my bike, and after some trial and error, I finally got the rear derailleur adjusted almost perfectly. It'll take more fiddling to come up with a repeatable procedure, but I would not have even known where to begin without this tutorial.
Only 1 problem now, how do I know when it's time for a new bike? Used to be that once I expertly adjusted my bicycle down to a single speed, it was time to trade it in!
Holy moly this video is amazing. This tutor is so clear and easy to understand. And he explains everything very simply without sounding condescending. The editing and overlaying graphics were great too. Well done, Park Tool!
By total accident I came upon this video but I did need to watch it! Let me repeat what many people are saying here: What a supremely clear and professionally produced video. This is a model for what all DIY UA-cam videos need to achieve! Thank you!
Calvin Jones, you are a legend. I was a newbie cyclist 3 years ago, but now have nearly 3,000 miles clocked up and two bikes. From watching your videos I have learned to service my own bike and bought lots of Park Tools along the way. I am having loads of fun and getting fit while doing it and watching your videoas along the way. Please keep up the great work Calvin and Park Tool!!
I watched countless videos trying to solve my issues and this is by far the best one! Explained everything perfectly and the “different scenarios” were perfect! Thank you
I keep coming back to these front and rear derailleur videos for a refresher before giving our bikes a service. They're concise and clear, perfect tutorials for those that want to look after essential bike maint themselves
Abso-effin'-lutely! I have watched a lot, no I mean A LOT!!, of UA-cam tutorials, but this one is the gold standard. Every video tutorial should be made like these Park Tool vids. Bravo, and (please) keep up the good work! Thank you.
I am a beginner on a diamondback overdrive 29.1, and words can't begin to describe how much this video helped me dial in my shifting so I feel comfortable running through the gears. Thank you so much.
Best how to video ever!!!! All categories matched. From a pedagogical design point of view, it's a 10 out of 10. Clear explanations, reasons why certain problems arise, visual aids WHILE explaining, easy practical tricks given and referrals for extra research. A true masterpiece of a video for a very complex part of bicycle mechanics. Since these videos are the best publicity for Parktool, please don't cheap out on these guys' salaries. Not only are they promoting your product, they're providing essential knowledge (aka education).
This is pretty much the case. My appreciation for these videos is indeed part of the reason why I tend to pick Park Tool when I need something to work on my self converted E-Bike, though it helps that the quality of the tools speak for themselves. Would be nice if you could get one of their Beam type torque wrenches with the square socket fitting on both sides of the tool end though, because sometimes the only position you can torque the bottom bracket bolts is one you can't see the indicator face side of the torque from, would be nice if you could flip the wrench around and swap the socket onto the other side....
Thank you so much. I took my bike into a shop for a “tune-up” and specifically said it was shifting into the highest gear. I got it back with the same issue. Thanks to your super clear and straightforward instruction, I was able to take care of it myself. Mahalo 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Some, not all but some bike shops, I imagine car repair/maintenance as well seem to not be very helpful unless you know the exact terminology. Not only can I properly index my gears myself now but if for whatever reason I’m lazy I can go to a shop and usually within 15 minutes I’m off and running for little to no charge and it seems to me it is because I can give the exact issue. Sad that not everyone gets the same treatment. Also with a massive spike in riders because of covid I appreciate Calvin Jones and this channel even more. Cheers guys
I would rather pay someone to do this, as I don’t have room for a bike repair stand. But the repair shop failed me too. Park Tools videos to the rescue!
So after not having/riding a bike for 5 years, I got a new Liv bike 4 days ago. 2 days after getting it, I go for a less than 2 minute ride around the block only to experience loud noise and chains jumping. I was terrified I broke something!!! I knew next to nothing about bike parts, components, mechanics etc. I was so upset that something was "wrong" with my brand new $3k bike. I was going to take it back to a bike shop. After some research, I watched all of the Park Tool derailleur videos. THIS video not only saved me a trip & money to a LBS, but also TAUGHT me so much about my bike. I was out in my garage, sweating my ass off for near an hour in 100F heat, with my bike hanging from my squat rack going through each cog. I can not tell you how empowered I felt when all of the shifts were finally flawless! Thank you so much for this video (and all of the videos) and for Calvin who breaks it down & explains it so so well. My first real actual ride this morning on my new bike was perfect, all shifts were beautiful & quiet. Now I'm just watching the videos for fun & future self-knowledge :)
This guy is head and shoulders above the rest. Step by step detailed instructions, you can't miss. Any time I need some help I all ways find this guy. Thanks Man.
I've watched this video a thousand times and you can't mess up if you follow it step by step. Extremely detailed but broken down to the point that anybody could understand. Watch it everytime I go to tune up the family's bikes before a big ride and just now found myself watching it again to tune a new derailleur I just put on.
I’ve picked up a great conceptual understanding from watching other videos-some great ones done by GCN-but the animations and colors made this incredibly clear. This is DEFINITELY the first video for someone to watch to really understand how their gears work. Thanks for putting the time into the production of this one rather than just filming a mechanic doing stuff. This is great, thank you!!
The video also shows us what to look out for when things are going wrong and what to do about it. Too many instruction videos regardless of subject just show what happens when everything goes exactly as it should the first time. Bike maintenance is fiddly; things seldom fall into place at the start.
That barrel adjuster illustration, at 7:05, has taught me more about how the index adjusting works than I ever knew (and wondered about) my whole life. Next mystery!
Paid too much money to “professional” bike mechanics with no fix to my bike. Watched a couple of these park tool videos and my bike feels like a million bucks. I now have the tools for my self and the knowledge from this amazing instructor! Thank you! This guy deserves everything 💪💪
I haven't owned a bike in probably 10 years (as a teen), knew nothing about how they even really work, recently got one secondhand that was in desperate need of some love, and thanks to this channel it's now fully operational and running smooth. Big thanks to Calvin Jones ❤
I don't even think my bike shop did the derailleur adjustments on my bike properly. Shifting was still wonky after the spring tune up so decided to do it myself using this video and voila! Everything is super smooth and precise now. Thank you Calvin and Park Tools
I've seen loads of videos on this subject and this is by far the most through and complete tutorial covering all possible scenarios. I came to realize the problem with my rear derailleur was the indexing adjustment, not the l and h screws as I initially thought. The visual aids are just excellent!!! Thank you so much!
This is the best rear derailleur set up vid I have watched, the way you describe what your doing and why is spot on, no waffling on just clear and concise instructions that are easy to follow, the way it should be, you have gained another fan
I was always intimidated by adjusting my rear derailer and continued to avoid it. When the one came that it was unavoidable I was lucky enough to find this video. This video makes it so easy to do I was very surprised. It's setup perfectly to watch the video as you work on your bike. By the end of it your bike will shift flawlessly. I. H limit Step 0: Big gear front, Small cog rear Step 1: Turn barrel adjuster clockwise (x4) Step 2: Turn H limit screw too tight (until it's audible) Step 3: Loosen H limit screw until there is no sound Step 4: Turn barrel adjuster counter-clockwise (x2) II. Indexing Step 0: Big gear front, Small cog rear Step 1: Put RD to 2nd smallest cog Step 2: Turn barrel adjuster counter-clockwise, until you hear the sound. Step 3: Then go clockwise until there is no sound Step 4: Move on to bigger cogs. If you hear sound, turn the adjuster clockwise. Then go smaller, and back to the bigger (noisy) cog Step 5: If shifting is slow, quarter-turn clockwise of barrel adjuster will help III. L limit Step 0: Small gear front, 2nd largest cog rear Step 1: Shift to largest cog rear Step 2: If there is noise, then good! If there isn't, then go back to 2nd largest and tighten L limit. (Repeat until you hear noise at largest cog) Step 3: Once largest cog is noisy, go back to 2nd largest rear cog and loosen L limit Step 4: Go back and see if it's still noisy Step 5: Repeat until largest cog is no longer noisy. (Press RD shifter to see if RD moves. It shouldn't move)
Step 1: Copy paste into Text Edit (or whatever) Step 2: Spend threee minutes formatting Step 3: Change font to 13pt American Typewriter Step 4: Save as Rear Derailleur Adjustment Step 5: Print and post on the wall beside workstand. Now, go get the Kona and get on with it. Thank you, Chris, you have made my day.
Production values, graphics, presentation of host, thoroughness, and pace of explanation all combine to make Park Tool videos the best. Even for something as simple as applying new handlebar tape, you will learn something that improves your bike maintenance knowledge. You know the video is good when, as you are watching, you keep thinking to yourself: "this video is excellent."
I just started biking and I would like to thank you for the many tutorials. This helped me appreciate the mechanics of having a bike and avoid getting conned in early upgrading my parts.
This is the most methodical and simple explanation of how to indexing and adjusting the rear derailleur I've seen. The close-ups of what the L and H screws do is exactly what you need so you're not spinning screws randomly trying to get the shifting straightened out. That and how cable tension at one end and barrel adjustment at the other functions is what I needed to understand. Watch it a few times, and there will never be a question which adjustment needs to be made.
I have 6 kids so I don’t need to tell you how valuable it is to learn this kind of thing instead of sending 8 bikes into the shop every year for maintenance/ repairs. Just bought the park tool maintenance stand and videos like this give me plenty of confidence.

Elijah Trafton try going through the video with a pen and paper handy instead of your tools. Make notes of the most important steps. Try and get your head around cable tension first, that is quite a tricky concept: lengthening the cable housing tightens the cable, it doesn’t make natural sense to your brain. Good luck!

Couldn't agree more. Years of baffling experimentation with the derailleur and substandard results, followed by a trip to the local bike shop to undo the damage I did appear to be over. Thank you, Park Tool and Mr Derailleur Man.
This video is perfect. The graphics are really helpful and the guy is awesome. I'd perform open heart surgery if he were walking me through it.

LOVE THIS VIDEO - And Love this comment!! ROFL!
I don't understand so my chain keeps coming off when I reach top gear so I just the h limit screw but is clock wise or anti clock wise?
LOL 🤣😂 totally agree.
snap_ drama if it is going over the last gear you need to turn the high limit clockwise. I just had the same issue and fixed it doing just that. I believe that is what makes the limit screw stop the the derailleur from going past that last gear accidentally.
Wow! I learned more in 15 minutes than in a lifetime of fiddling with bike derailleurs! Great job. Thanks for sharing!
@Dont Check My About Page Link Okay, we won't.
same here. amazing video. i was able to fix my shifting problem i was having. never ever messed around with my derailleur before.
I'm refurbing my 1985 MTB and just discovered this series. This is without a doubt the best tutorials on UA-cam.
the graphic overlays do such a great job in clarifying what's happening and how the adjustments work. Great video.
I always wondered how my service manager was aligning things with his eyes...thanks to the magic of the graphics, I finally understand.

These guys need an award for this video. So helpful and easy to follow. Bravo.
Same...me too hahaha I didnt understand the cable thingy thingy
This is perhaps the *most* impactful and helpful DIY video on YoutTube, ever... Seriously, if/when more people rode bikes instead of driving cars, this video should be considered part of the "Bike Maintenance Holy Grail". Wonderfully explained, and incredibly thorough for a 16min video. Thanks!
Not only does this guy have an absolutely sick moustache but, this guy does the single best instructional videos on UA-cam
Thank you!
True Story: The only bicycle service personnel available in my town rejected my request to assemble the gear train. So i tried it myself watching this video. It is working perfectly fine. All credits to you. Huge knowledge gained.
Clearest How-To video on any topic on youtube - sets a new standard
I could easily follow this guy. I am so happy to be out and riding my bicycle. He is awesome. Park Tool guy is my hero.
give him a raise @ParkTool
Yeah give him a raise @Park Tool
Thanks!
I understand
I have watched SO many of these it's not funny. But THIS guy is by far the best. His instruction and visuals really work. Park Tools, keep them coming.

I'm officially a Park Tool groupie. I am in the process of building up my own 80's mountain bike and have zero experience. This video is so thorough and well done I'm going to keep watching it well after my bike is complete. You made what seemed like a very complicated process at first very simple and straightforward. Can't thank you all enough!
I have no idea how you could possibly make this any better. In all categories I think this is easily in the Top 10 and perhaps #1. Well done.
Calvin should be putting up on the pedestal for every biking community. He's passionate and thoroughly explains the process. What a privilege to learn from these videos!!
No
I remember when I was young I felt confident to 'fix' my bike.
Let's just say by the time I was done... I had less gears than when I started 😅
Thanks to Park Tools we can now maintain our bikes. These are the best, most clear and well edited videos on the internet I guess! Thank you Park Tool!!
Haha so funny. I’ve been riding for 45 years and now at 51 I finally feel comfortable fiddling with screws on the derailleur. 🤦🏻♂️😂
@@Durwood71 I concur!! I always looked at it as voodoo haha
Hahaha, I’m young and pretty much in the same scenario. Got a fraction of the gears I should :P
Thank you!
This video has convinced me to only buy park tool from now on, just to ensure they continue releasing videos like this.
Thanks a million!

I've done a lot of 'wrenching' on my mountain bikes, learning it all on youtube. This video is the best derailleur adjustment + setup video, period.
I watched countless videos trying to solve my issues and this is by far the best one! Explained everything perfectly and the “different scenarios” were perfect! Thank you
who ever owns this bike is lucky to have it set up by this guy
I keep coming back to these front and rear derailleur videos for a refresher before giving our bikes a service. They're concise and clear, perfect tutorials for those that want to look after essential bike maint themselves
The most comprehensive explanation of the rear derailleur I have ever seen. Thanks Park Tool and particularly Calvin for this materclass!
Calvin is a pro, not just in excellent knowledge of the topic but the delivery of the institution, excellent job.
This guy is great. He knows his stuff and explains it thoroughly for dummies like me to learn. Thanks. I always buy park Tools.
Abso-effin'-lutely! I have watched a lot, no I mean A LOT!!, of UA-cam tutorials, but this one is the gold standard. Every video tutorial should be made like these Park Tool vids. Bravo, and (please) keep up the good work! Thank you.

Bob Fredericks i agree completely. He could teach just about anything.
I am a beginner on a diamondback overdrive 29.1, and words can't begin to describe how much this video helped me dial in my shifting so I feel comfortable running through the gears. Thank you so much.
Buying Park Tool is how we express gratitude to this channel.
Not even close
Cheers guys
Bike shops are mostly a scam
I've had my dissapointment with technicians as well, better to do it myself.
I would rather pay someone to do this, as I don’t have room for a bike repair stand. But the repair shop failed me too. Park Tools videos to the rescue!
If ever there was a derailleur adjustment epic, this is surely it.
40 years of wrenching and I still enjoyed every minute of this.
Nice tools too!
Park Tools are now my "go to" for bike maintenance. This is by far the clearest explanation of adjusting the rear derailleur. Park Tools, thanks.
Yes yes yes!!!! Give this man a raise. Whoever put the video together should get a raise too! So helpful!
THIS GUY IS TRULY A AWESOME TEACHER HE KEEPS IT IN LAYMAN'S KNOWLEDGE GIVE THIS MAN A COLD BREW AND A BIG RAISE THANKS PARK
I haven't owned a bike in probably 10 years (as a teen), knew nothing about how they even really work, recently got one secondhand that was in desperate need of some love, and thanks to this channel it's now fully operational and running smooth. Big thanks to Calvin Jones ❤
Ah ok I understand
@@tuliobenavidez9952 ??
I don't even think my bike shop did the derailleur adjustments on my bike properly. Shifting was still wonky after the spring tune up so decided to do it myself using this video and voila! Everything is super smooth and precise now. Thank you Calvin and Park Tools
I've seen loads of videos on this subject and this is by far the most through and complete tutorial covering all possible scenarios. I came to realize the problem with my rear derailleur was the indexing adjustment, not the l and h screws as I initially thought. The visual aids are just excellent!!! Thank you so much!
Honestly I have never seen a more professionally produced video than this. Seriously Sir, this video deserves an award!
This is the best rear derailleur set up vid I have watched, the way you describe what your doing and why is spot on, no waffling on just clear and concise instructions that are easy to follow, the way it should be, you have gained another fan
This is the only video on the internet that fixed my derailleur
I was always intimidated by adjusting my rear derailer and continued to avoid it. When the one came that it was unavoidable I was lucky enough to find this video. This video makes it so easy to do I was very surprised. It's setup perfectly to watch the video as you work on your bike. By the end of it your bike will shift flawlessly. This is a very valuable video, thanks!
Adjusted my rear derailleur following this gentlemans instructions to a T and now my bike shifts perfectly. I a Huffy Rock Creek with a Shimano 18 speed. Before watching this video my bike was jumping two gears on the rear. Great job sir, wonderful job if explaining and steps were easy to follow. I made my adjustments in real time while watching this video.👍👍
I. H limit
Step 0: Big gear front, Small cog rear
Step 1: Turn barrel adjuster clockwise (x4)
Step 2: Turn H limit screw too tight (until it's audible)
Step 3: Loosen H limit screw until there is no sound
Step 4: Turn barrel adjuster counter-clockwise (x2)
II. Indexing
Step 0: Big gear front, Small cog rear
Step 1: Put RD to 2nd smallest cog
Step 2: Turn barrel adjuster counter-clockwise, until you hear the sound.
Step 3: Then go clockwise until there is no sound
Step 4: Move on to bigger cogs. If you hear sound, turn the adjuster clockwise. Then go smaller, and back to the bigger (noisy) cog
Step 5: If shifting is slow, quarter-turn clockwise of barrel adjuster will help
III. L limit
Step 0: Small gear front, 2nd largest cog rear
Step 1: Shift to largest cog rear
Step 2: If there is noise, then good! If there isn't, then go back to 2nd largest and tighten L limit. (Repeat until you hear noise at largest cog)
Step 3: Once largest cog is noisy, go back to 2nd largest rear cog and loosen L limit
Step 4: Go back and see if it's still noisy
Step 5: Repeat until largest cog is no longer noisy.
(Press RD shifter to see if RD moves. It shouldn't move)
Thank you very much for this!
Step 1: Copy paste into Text Edit (or whatever)
Step 2: Spend threee minutes formatting
Step 3: Change font to 13pt American Typewriter
Step 4: Save as Rear Derailleur Adjustment
Step 5: Print and post on the wall beside workstand.
Now, go get the Kona and get on with it.
Thank you, Chris, you have made my day.
@@BangTheRocksTogether Exactly what I did, great idea. Chris P, awesome walkthrough, thank you. Park tool, AWESOME VIDEO :)
Id insert one step in chapter II: remove slack from cable
Thanks, Chris! Now I don't have to have my laptop next to my rear derailleur.
This man cannot be more clear about the maintenance of your derailleur and the rest of the gear bike components!!
It's a genius!!!
Thank you Calvin. It is a pleasure to watch a true professional at work.
I have 6 kids so I don’t need to tell you how valuable it is to learn this kind of thing instead of sending 8 bikes into the shop every year for maintenance/ repairs. Just bought the park tool maintenance stand and videos like this give me plenty of confidence.
For a little extra bit of confidence, grow the same moustache ;)
Just imagine the amount of respect you get from neighborhood kids if you can adjust their derailleurs too. We had a neighborhood hero dad like that when I was growing up.
@@dant.6364 Thats recognisable, had a similar experience when i was young. My friends dad was a farmer who actually wanted to be a bike mechanic, soeverytime i went for a playdate on my bike (im from the netherlands we bike solo from a young age) all my lights were fixed and tyres were full/repaired :) good memories.
With the money you're saving by doing your own maintenance you can buy another bike.
I’ve read and watched several sources on this procedure and this is by far the most detailed, yet not long winded, as well as clearest and easiest to understand.
Worked for me. Over the last month I have learned almost everything I need to know to repair and maintain my bikes. Normally I would have spent the money at a shop but they all have a monthlong wait for service around here, so thank you parktools and youtube.
Excellent video. Assumes no previous knowledge and explains everything clearly and concisely with good visual demonstration, without being patronising. Thank you. It was so much easier in the days of 5 speed blocks and friction levers!
I don't understand so my chain keeps coming off when I reach top gear so I just the h limit screw but is clock wise or anti clock wise?
Out of all videos I’ve seen on this topic, this is without a doubt, the best one!
I cannot express how incredible this video is compared to the others I attempted to watch. The instruction is clear, with amazing production quality, no rambling, and something that walks you through from start to finish. Thank you so much for this exceptional work!
I love these videos. Great public service and advertising for Park. I have fixed my brakes, chain, derailleur, and cassette with help from these videos. I have also spent over $400 on park tools. I will loyal to these guys forever.
They got your number alright. Mine too lol
This guys is freaking awesome!!! This seemed like rocket science to me, I was ready to take the bike to the shop, watched this and my bike’s now shifting perfectly!!!
I take off my hat, the best video on rear shift adjustment I've seen.
"Savoir faire" masterclass.
Greetings from a disciple.
100% the best how to video I've ever seen on UA-cam, perfect camera angles to see what's happening, perfect explanations of how to do everything. Thank you so much for making this something a total novice can understand.
I watched this video, paused like a million times, changed gears twice as much.
I think I got it figured out.
PS. It's 12 in the morning and I'm fixing a bike I bought used using your videos as a guide.
I've fix mine today just at 5pm thanks to this video
I started spraying wd40 to get everything moving again around midnight. Took a ride around the block with like 3 gear changes and no breaks. It's almost 2 am and I'm trying to learn how to get it shifting and learn how linear pull brakes work. #coronavirus
I couldn’t sleep because the lack of proper shifting was annoying me. It’s 3am but I got it fixed and shifting so smoothly lol
This is like a university lecture on Bicycle mechanics. I mean, wow. This fine gentleman is PhD level. Bravo!
man, your videos are all over THE BEST! almost every "home made biker" shows how to but yours are from another planet!
big big thanks!!!
Great video! my son and I fixed his derailleur in just a few minutes, he went from frustration to pure freedom behind the bars. Park Tools are great, these videos are absolutely the best around. Thank you!
Great video............... I stopped it three times as I went through the adjustments on my bike & now it shifts like a dream................ I wouldn't have even attempted it w/o this video.
While 16 minutes might seem excessive, this is actually the finest outlining of the process in great detail that I have ever seen - it's not rocket science, but if you are not getting super precise shifting after following these instructions, either your drivetrain is very bad / cheap or you need a DAG-2
Thank you for a very clear and detailed step by step approach to diagnosing and fixing derailleur shifting problems. Concise descriptions and organized in a logical, step by step sequence to capture the entire operation of the derailleur. BTY, I am a DIY person and am skimpy on expenditures and do my own repairs, and yes, I use Park Tools. And no, this is not a payed comment, just just providing praise where praise is due, as my Ma taught us. Please thank this fellow for his many skills.
There are many videos about bicycle shifting adjustment on youtube, but this video REALLY the BEST. I have never seen a video that is so well explained, touches on possible error scenarios, and touches on the subject in a very clear and understandable way. Thankyou Calvin Jones, thank you cameraman guy, thankyou video editor guy, thanks to everyone who contributed.
This must be one of the best and logically put together video that was done by you and anyone I have seen. I finally understand and could adjust my derailleurs without looking at the video again as it is so logical. Thank you so much.
This video should be a national mandatory watch once a year, in all languages know to man
I've watched this video so many times I think they're going to play it at my funeral
Only if you adjusted your derailleurs way wrong and get in an accident.
LOL
Same
Me too and I still can’t get it ...
Elijah Trafton try going through the video with a pen and paper handy instead of your tools. Make notes of the most important steps. Try and get your head around cable tension first, that is quite a tricky concept: lengthening the cable housing tightens the cable, it doesn’t make natural sense to your brain. Good luck!
Give this man and anyone else who put together this video a raise! Great visuals and explanation.
The indexing on my bicycle was way off, but after watching this video I was able to fix the problem! It was my first time adjusting that part of my bike, and his explanation was very clear and made it easy for me to adjust my rear derailleur. Major props 👏🏼👏🏼
So clear I could land the friggin' lunar module if he was at Mission Control. Excellent work, Park Tool.
Great explanation, nice pacing, and excellent production values (i.e., split screens, captions, white background, graphics, etc.). Calvin you're the best.
