    Boat hook on the whisker pole is clever. Very nice sail.

    What perfect timing Josh! Thanks for the whisker pole tips, I'm just about to start making one for Skismo. The other thing I spotted, which is yet another winter project for Skismo, are some cockpit cushions to sit on - a must for those 8 - 9 hour sails! Lovely video, nice blue sky and crystal clear waters - perfect.

      I was just watching your 3 day trip. How you sit on boards all day is full on! Thanks for dropping by.

    Great scenery ! (Seals, jelly fish n more). Yah ! I do remember “Trim” on some of the other video outing ..
    I’m always amazing what you computer dude do now with 3D stuff. It’s way over my understanding but still totally awesome Mate. Well done 👍 even if it’s back to the drawing board n out again to retest.
    Cheers 🥂 from Washington State .. Nick
    P.S. looking forward to further testing episodes!

    Great sail Josh,the whisker pole looks promising once you get the little things worked out.

      Thanks Bruce. I actually used the Oday jib size in the calculations for loads. Unfortunately didn’t test the split ring first!

      @@DinghyCruisingKingfisher Yes they can be loaded up at times when you are in a rush to drop the pole

    Sunnies strap, please.
    They say nothing sinks faster than a winch handle and nothing flies off the boat faster than sunnies. Well, maybe a toss up between sunnies and your favorite hat.
    Great vid
    all the best gary

    Hi Josh, great to see you out sailing again and I love Pittwater.
    Any way, I noticed a winch on the Starboard side of the Centre board and wondering what it for, I was thinking for the Centerboard.
    I didn’t think they were that heavy.

      Hi Mark. It’s for tensioning the jib and main halyards. Cheers, Josh

      @@DinghyCruisingKingfisher oh did not think of that, it that normal on the navigator as maybe I thinking next year to build a Pathfinder

    Very nice work Josh, especially making all the parts yourself.
    Could you fit the pole in reverse so the twist lock adjust is closer to the mast and easier to reach?

    • @DinghyCruisingKingfisher
      @DinghyCruisingKingfisher  11 місяців тому

      Good idea. I was thinking that a boat hook should be of a decent length without having to extend it. Could reverse the design easy enough, if I was to make another prototype. Those fittings are epoxied in.

    Thanks so much for taking us along. By the way, is a whisker pole used just to extend the area of the jib and hold it in place? Thanks.

    • @DinghyCruisingKingfisher
      @DinghyCruisingKingfisher  11 місяців тому

      yes, jibs and genoas when sailing downwind - it is usually a fixed pole for that purpose. A spinnaker pole would be much longer I would think.
