I can see why you purchased Blue Pearl, what a tour! There are so many unique spaces, outstanding, the kitchen sink is definitely a one of, holy cow, it’s huge, I’ve never seen one like that. That bar though, wow, so many wows, what a vessel, your mansion on the water, gorgeous!!! Thank you for the professional realtor tour, I am SOLD!!!!
Awwww Nena❤️ Thank you so much! We always look forward to your comments🥰🙌
You’re so sweet!
that isn't just a boat. it is a timeship. it will make memories that never be forgotten. i can tell by the way the two of you described everything this was earned with hard work.
We so appreciate your comment! Thank you!🥰
What a fantastic boat, thanks for posting.
Thank you!🙌
Wow, sleeps 13- that is amazing!
Crazy right!?😆
Just found and subscribed to your channel. I'd say that she would be around 250k with the upgrades not including the skiff. Truly a live aboard world cruiser. I guess I'll catch up on your other videos and see where you have been. Fair winds and following seas to you.
Thank you for subscribing and commenting! We appreciate it!
They just did a budget video... Pretty good guess. They're all in around 270k.
Beautiful sailing vessel!
Enjoy!
Thanks so much!
Love the kitchen sink! Your kitchen sink can never be too large
You're so right! I really do love it's grand size🙌
What a boat! Just watched ep #51 and thought I'd take the tour. Gorgeous! Old world charm with newer amenities. Nice! And the biggest kitchen sink I've seen on a boat this size :) Bon Appétit Chris and Jess! (and bon voyage!) ❤
Awww thank you so very much! I love that "old world charm" what an awesome description!🥰
That fridge and freezer are BANGIN!
Good shit. Good ship.
Fair winds and following seas to you!
We were amazed by them too!😃
Thanks for the tour. Great choice. Trust you find some crew for the longer sails.
We sure hope so!😆
Love it..and great tour. M gracias.
Thanks so much!
not sure if your already doing - but at work we had planned mtce on all fire alams and safety eqpt etc that used batteries - the date was 1/4/.... eg April fools day as you would be a fool to forget We change them all as it was cheaper than having an event and the alarm unit had a flat battery
That's a great idea. Thank you for sharing!
Very nice, thanks for sharing her with us. Beautiful yacht.
Thank you!🥰
The boat has a kind of Formosa build, beautiful boat thoe.
Thanks!
What a stunning boat.
Thank you!
A real dream of o boat.. Love it
Oh thank you!!🥰
Nice boat. I'm a new subscriber. Looking forward to seeing your adventures
Hello! Welcome aboard!🥰 Thank you!
Beautiful ship.
😁 Thank you!
Gorgeous yacht! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much!🥰
amazing boat
Thank you!
always wanted to know what it's like trying to sleep in roaring waves in a storm in a ketch this big? I would assume it's not that hard because she's so big. Sleeps 13.... two in the Captain's quarters (2), two each on each side (4), library (1), workshop (2), main gathering area (4) = 13....... did I get that right?
We haven't experienced roaring waves much with her, yet. We have had quite the swells though, it's doable, but it can feel like you're going to roll right out of bed!😂 Yes to the sleeping arrangements!
OMG I love your home and your videos. Great video. My mom is also a subscriber after she watched your channel with me.
Thanks so much so you and your mom! 🥰
Not bad at all guys, great !
Thanks so much!
She is on hell of a beauty!! New subscriber here :)
Thank you and thank you!!🥰 We're so happy to have you come along for the adventure!
I'm amazed just the 2 of you can sail her, she's a great big girl and a beauty but she has to be a handful for 2.
She can be a handful! 😁
It's a beautiful boat. Congratulations, enjoy and keep sailing. Thank you for showing her.
Thank you so much, Matt!
I wonder what it costs to maintain that beauty.
Great question! We'll have to do some calculating and put that together for a future video🙂
@Sailing Blue Pearl Awesome! I'm busy doing what's right, raising my kids, doing right by my wife, working and building the dream homestead. It's a lot of hard work and $. My dream is to build a boat and sell my homestead. Then sail the world until I die. Not sure how to afford it, but if I can start building a realistic expectation on cost, maybe I can plan it all out and get out there.
If I don't have to build a boat, I won't. But I bought a sawmill and built a shop. Maybe I'll have enough juice left in me when the kids are grown.
I wish you would’ve shown the engine room🙏
Next walk through tour, we'll show below the hatches!
So spacy
🙌
She's a very beautiful and classy lady!
Awwww Thank you so much!🥰
engine room
Our next tour will show the less glamorous part of the boat - lifting the floor hatches!
All i see is a lot of daily maintenance that will be required and the constant repair bills.
lol thankfully that's not all we see!😁
Is that not every boat?
Pretty boat - I'd love to see you guys do a video that takes stock in your purchase costs and refit costs to date. That sort of info is very helpful to those of us who are shopping and deciding between getting an older boat with more refit $ vs a newer one with presumably less $ to spend for updating. Thanks!
Great idea, Mark! We have the data so we’d be happy to put something like that together. Stay tuned!
@@SailingBluePearl What I think is especially interesting was your approach to buying the boat "as is"? That's at odds with most recommendations, and it looks like you did a post purchase survey? Anyway, I'm very interested in the nuts and bolts and $$ of the purchase and refit. Thanks and I look forward to seeing more vids.
@@markwhitney5395 good points to cover in the video!
He just made the video you requested!!! I think they did great with the purchase. Seems like they had some rough dealings with some contractors, but all in all I think they did very well for themselves.
well what can I say, you hit the button on this one ! Fabulous. 25K views , wow !!!
We’re SO THRILLED!🙌🥰 So much love and support. We’re absolutely honored and, honestly, speechless!
Wow what a beautiful place to call home! I wish I could visit a boat as special as this. I can only dream about stargazing at night, anchored somewhere off the coast in paradise.
Thank you Nolan! What a sweet comment🥰
Fantastic yacht. I have never seen fridges that huge in my life, amazing. They have packed so much into 65 feet. Thanks for the wonderful tour.
Awwww thanks so much! Yeah those fridges where a huge selling point when we first walked on this boat!
They’re shooting the interior with a (very) wide angle lens😜.
@@kiowa1508 lol no wide angle lens required! I used my cellphone - it really is THAT big!😂
She is beautiful...what a great boat...
Thank you!
Hello, I am new to your channel . Your boat is a magnificent mono hull, very nice. I will be watching. From Houston. Bye for now
Hello and welcome!😊 Thank you for subscribing and saying hello from Houston!😃
I bought a brand new Irwin Citation 38 at the Annapolis boat show in 1985. They are beautiful boats. Especially inside. But they do have their faults. Within 5 years, I had a blister problem below the waterline. Be sure to check for that when you haul out.
Good to know! Thank you for the heads up. We love the Annapolis boat show, hoping to go in the near future, now that we have a boat! lol
What a BIG magnificent Ship.
Awww thanks!😊
A home with everything you could want! Your Wife is immaculate and everything is spotless and perfectly placed! Nothing compares to a woman's touch. Super impressive. I could put up with the pink toilet with a wink and a smile considering all she does! God Bless you and yours.. ))
Wow! Thank you so much!!!🥰
I have just come across your channel and subscribed.
The Blue Pearl is absolutely beautiful. 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Thank you so much!!🙌🥰
Congrats, she’s a swell lady. Surely will take care of you too for a long time.
Thank you! We sure hope so🥰
Loved to have seen her under full sail on a broad reach
Right!? As soon as we're more comfortable with that drone photography!😂
Çok güzel
Kazasız belasız seyirler. Puruvanız neta olsun
Thank you!
Where are you guys located? We can tell you’re a proud owner and it shows!! Woohoo I hope your wife takes that rock off before diving! She’d go straight to the bottom!
Hey there! Thanks for the comment!🙌
We're currently cruising up the Sea of Cortez, Baja California. It's so beautiful here!🥰
@@SailingBluePearl I live in Central Florida. In the next 2-3 years I have high expectations of myself. I hope to be sailing the Caribbean! What did you guys do for a living to afford that beautiful yacht? Drs, lawyers ? I’m a disabled Vet. I did serve 30 years right up until my helicopter I was on smacked that mountain during my third tour in Afghanistan. Sea of Cortez I’ve never been there but it looks gorgeous. I pretty much live in hurricane alley. Any bad storms like that where you guys are? Thank you for writing back so quickly!
@@sharkman5735 wow what a story. Thank you for your service❤️ Your goal sounds fantastic, we hope to sail the Caribbean someday too! SOC does get hurricanes - thankfully we were literally stuck in La Paz last season when the hurricane went up the Sea of Cortez (usually they hit La Paz) and we only faced around 30 kn winds.
My hubby is a retired civil engineer. If you watch our “Love Story” video (episode 29), we talk all about our life together🥰
We hope to see you out here someday!🙌
@@SailingBluePearl Awesome! Thank you for the recognition. I’ll watch that video you offered. Thank you!
Beautiful couple , well done , and thank you for sharing and bringing light into people's lives , you have touched me and I'm thankful
Wow! Thank you, Steve🥰
Beautiful cruising sailboat ⛵️! Mike from Missouri
Nice to meet you, Mike! Thanks for the comment!😊
Subscribed, cast iron pans was the finale smash that button. My mom would only use them always the best fried potatoes, of course fried in Crisco the real lard not this Crisco crap they sale now, love the boat, lots of systems to maintain, just have to be mechanical or pay someone. I had a 50' wood boat 1945 lots of work. all the boats after that one wood interior only.
Lol awesome! Cast iron wins again!😃
Thank you and we’d love to see a photo of that 1945 boat😍
To say WOW would be an understatement! Thank you for sharing your lovely yacht with me, I truly wish you much success & happiness.
Wow! Thanks so much!! 🙌 We so appreciate your kind comment🥰
I envy you, having the time and resources to purchase this beautiful boat and sustain this lifestyle is wonderful. Thank you for the tour, breathtaking.
Wow! Thank you so much!🥰
У яхт с отделкой таким деревом деревом , есть душа и своя аура. Молодцы .
That is a great vessel! My dream of sailing the globe is a little more clear now as I know what type of boat I want. How much s the performance while under way?
She made nearly 9 knots with 15 knots of tail wind with just the genoa out! Go live that dream!🥰
What a wonderful vessel. I really love it!!
Thank you so much!
Great Vessel! Great setup. Have a great time whatever you do.
Thank you so much!
I wonder what that boat cost new back in the day . Pretty nice. That’s the nicest example of a Irwin I’ve seen
Thank you! And now I’m curious, I’ll have to look that up!
The cost of it now is insane.
@@brianrich7828 it doesn't actually seem to be THAT expensive comparably, about 175-180k dollars
One of the best layouts I've ever seen
@@stefanvanrensburg6096 Thank you! We agree😉
Beautiful boat. I have been waiting on this video. Well done. Take care and go sailing. Bill
Thank you Bill!😊
That’s not a boat...that is a SHIP!
And a bad-ass vessel at that! Cheers.
Btw, were you folks on a mooring ball at Sandy Island on the west side of Carriacou last October? Fair winds and be safe!
Hey thanks Christopher!!😊 and nope that wasn’t us… hopefully someday tho!
Счастливая женщина которая встретила такого "морского волка" и приобщилась к прекрасному образу жизни в море .🎉
those are dusty mauve toilets! 😉
lol I'll tell my hubby you said so!😂
Fantastic boat with lots of living space.
It really is! Thank you!
And you can travel to many places around the world.
@@Jjonathanhart we sure hope to!
wow, nice boat. love the size inside
Us too!😊 Thanks so much!
😧😧😧😧 that’s probably the most beautiful boat Ever!!! It’s huge! And yes you could sale me a ticket for a ride on the bow pulpit!!!!🧐
Awwww Thank you so much!!🙌
Did I count 5 Bed 3 Bath?!?! I don’t know much about boats but this is Beautiful!!!!!!! The kitchen with dishwasher, the big fridge, the washer and dryer, the library, the vanity, the multiple bathrooms!!! Ahh I love it. Did you guys have sailing experience before buying this boat? Did you learn everything as you went? Thank you for the lovely tour and it was shot so well!
Thank you! thank you!🥰 Yes, 5/3 crazy right!? My hubby had professional training and we did a bunch of sailing in San Francisco, CA. But we had not ever sailed a ketch until now! It’s been a learning curve, and lots of fun!🙌
A beautiful boat. It is a pity that all the measurements were made in an outdated imperial system.
This gives a very deep insight into the American soul, as they are one of the very few nations in the world that still use this imperial measurement system. Secretly, they probably still wish to be reclassified as a colony of the British.... Home to “Big Mamma” ;-)
Thank you! We love her🥰 She's even more beautiful in person🙌
Your missing a half slide on sink for extra cutting/counter space! Then water tight entry ect.. That's about all you lucky couple need "stunning" 95% what I've always wanted. Reaching sixty & alone so I'll live through follow! Maybe see the engine room.
Thanks you! We actually have a cutting board that fits on the sink for that "extra space"😊 otherwise it really is too big a sink lol. Our next tour will include below the floor hatches "engine room"!🙌
Back when blue water design meant it……today blue water boats are designed for anything but blue water.
🙌🥰
Awesome 😊 beutiful boat
Thank you!😊
LOVELY!!!!! How long does it take to stow everything before getting underway? We too like our comforts of home on our boat, but wow! Sometimes putting it all away before sailing is a real challenge! Any tips?
Thank you!! It doesn't take us too long, most of the stuff stays put pretty well! We use bungee cords here and there and rubber grip mat under baskets and such to keep things in place. Works well!
WHAT A GREAT NEW ADVENTURE ! YOU BOUGHT THE BOAT FOR 6500.00 seriously ?
AND TOTAL EXPENSES SINCE BEGINNING OF REFIT ?
Have a look at Episode 50, it covers purchase price and total refit costs to date…
All that space is filled with beautiful furnishings and not cargo, pity.
Right!?😂
Beautiful inside. I love the beam on these boats because it feels less cramped. Curious how much list you get on windy sails. Or if her wide beam results in less leaning.
Thank you! She heels over about 10 degrees, so far anyway, with the sailing we've done!😊
WOW
You are a stalwart couple, the challenges presented by your Irwin have been unreasonably harsh. I was a charter captain in the USVI and the take on your boat was that the accommodations were first class the maintenance access was terrible with no dedicated equipment space. The final measure of a vessels worth is whether the good memories outweigh the bad seems you are still in the plus column. Hang in there.
Thank you for the comment! We feel your assessment is spot-on. Thankfully the good still outweighs the bad!🙌
I crewed and captained the Emerald Lady in the late 80s. Great island hopper, not so great trans continent. flexed like a rubber raft in heavy waves
Oh wow that doesn't sound good!
Hi, Very cool boat its large. Do you have a video on the annual maintenance cost of a boat like this? I think many people would enjoy a video like that.
Thank you and great idea! We've been working so much on fixing her up that we haven't gotten to maintenance costs yet. But maybe someday!
I love your boat! Love the wood and the space and that beautiful enclosed cockpit:))
Thank you so much!🥰
The first watched, then subscribed now almost caught up! What a journey!
Thanks sooooo much!!🙌 We sincerely appreciate all your comments, encouragement and sub!🥰
Some cultures consider blue to be a shade of black... Run into any rum soaked pirates lately?
lol we do love our "pirate" boat!🙌
How much was purchas price and refit cost and time . My wife are looking to ipgrade our Benetau 32 in 3 years for a world cruiser ty
We're planning on doing a "what it cost" video - Stay tuned!😃
Truly spectacular. Best of luck with her.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful boat
Thank you!
Love it. Almost at retirement age and in good shape. Plan to live aboard on one of my own, with dogs and all. Paces to see.
Wonderful!! Good for you! Let us know where you end up buying your boat, maybe we'll see you out here one day!🙌
Oh my she is something special.. I'm 30ft. I can be the Dinghy 😊😅😂
LOL thank you!😁
Does dude have a girdle on or what? Like he’s flexing the whole time. Just be real.
You think he’s flexing!?😂 Let me guess, this is the only episode of ours you’ve watched? He’s as real as they come!🙌
Is the music meant to be eerie? And the guy standing in the doorway even more creepy! Lol
LOL yep, we made it eerie and creepy just for you!😂
I was aboard an Irwin 65 in Mexico in the 90s, wonder if it is the same vessel.
It’s possible! She has been around the world at least once. She was Athenis back then.
Yes that's a Sailboat ⛵, really nice.thanks
Thank you!
What a lovely boat!
First sailboat I have seen that is actually live-able.
Thanks for the tour.
Thank you so much!🥰
Envy Envy Envy. Ok I'll volunteer to crew, no need to pay me much lol.
LOL thanks for volunteering!😂😉
She’s a beauty!
Thank you!
@@SailingBluePearl How many crew required to safely sail?
@@HalcyonGuitars the two of us have sailed her quite comfortably, but a third person is very helpful!
Cast iron is awesome I love mine and it’s American made along with my all clad!
Awesome! We also only buy American made cast iron🥰
A classic. I want one 😉
We do love her classic lines🥰
Beautiful boat !!
Thank you very much!
Absolutely LOVE your sailboat!!
Awww thank you so much!🥰
Lovely craft indeed!
Thanks so much!
You have given me a severe case of boat envy- Beautiful!
Thank you!😊
That is a thing of beauty. I can only dream of having a boat like that! You are lucky and blessed
Thank you! We feel very fortunate and so blessed to call this home❤️
@@SailingBluePearl but also, as someone who has done some ocean sailing, your set up is practical and quite humble for size of your home. I took note of the proper sheet and rigging management, were you ever in the army or the navy?
Love it, Outstanding Ship! ⛵
@@captjbrennan thank you so much!🥰
What an amazing boat! Love it. This video popped up on my suggested - subbed! Thank you for sharing your boat, looking forward to seeing more of her! (and love the paint job, super cool. Especially the bow)
Jeremy, thanks so much!!🙌 We really appreciate the comment and sub🥰 We're currently heading up the Sea of Cortez, so lots of adventures ahead!
