Agreed. I was totally blown away last year @ Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Rasnov, Romania - amongst all metal and metal-like acts there, these masters truly stood out.

@@derick3482 It all sounds the same to me, too, don't feel bad. Nergal may be a black metal hipster these days, but he was dead on when he declared that "extreme metal" was no longer extreme, it's predictable and old hat. I agree with him on that much, if nothing else.

Good point. They definitely found the right balance. Now if can get a remastered version of Failures for Gods with similar production, I can die happy.

Over three decades, and still going strong. Most bands career don't last that long, yet they managed to strike a sweet balance between longevity, creativity, and quality. I wish to see or meet them atleast once in my lifetime.
I see this guys 3 time and is like gods metal!! After the show i talk to the front man and the guitariste like 10 minutes and showing some love to what them do for metal and so nice the see them live in Montréal, amaze me and take my time to tell at this guys it's a glory time to listen this guys live... soo pround to have them in metal scene...sorry for my bad english 😂

My favorite live band of all time as far as death metal 🤟 goes!!!! These guys never disappoint us when an album releases....... I'm hearing alot of the very early dawn of possession vibes in the riffs here .....

Эта обложка феноменальна. Чем больше вглядываешься, тем больше элементов видишь. Каждый соответствует треку. Это шедевральная работа.
Just having an idea about the artwork. It is connected with the artworks of the first two albums but more evil. On the first (dawn of possession) the angels had no chance against the demons. On the second (here in after) the angels were fallen. This was evil but the angels still represented something good. This artwork here shows that there is nothing good at all. A sinister man who is taken by dark and cruel angels... It was a pleasure to see the Immolation using their old logo again on atonement, but on this album they really found the darkness (again) that death metal needs. They are back. I wish there were more bands going back to their roots. Grave, Unleashed, Edge Of Sanity, Obituary, Tiamat, Hypocrisy, Entombed, Dismember, Mortification, Acheron and even Deicide, Monstrosity and Carcass.
Замечательный альбом! Мрачный мелодичный дэт метал. Не путать с мелодик-дэтом - ничего общего! Иммолэйшн никогда не разочаровывают.
