Good video mate - I’ve got a video going up soon about direct debit too. It’s a problem I see a lot aswell with all the local window cleaners to me. I think ‘direct debit’ is a bit of a buzz word that puts people off and a lot of lads don’t know how to sell it to customers - it’s all about how you word it. Can tell you speak from experience though 20 customers in January alone is good going mate 🔥
Cheers. I did better when I stopped trying to sell it. I started to send text/email I am rarely if ever face to face. I got about 60 in Jan that was just the best week in Jan that I’ve ever had
I have been washing windows full-time for 32 years. My advice is the following: Increase the price the most on the 20% lowest paid jobs you have. Each year! I now have no jobs below approx. 1300 NOK per hour (130 dollars).
Great video mate im the same minimum price of 15 now even it its 1 or 2 windows ect i also fell into the trap early on of saying 10 quid for everything but ive dug myself out of that mess and lost a handful so that was good ive got some local window cleaners near me with 300 400 jobs but at 8 -10 quid where as im on 200 ish currently and minimum 15 loads of 20 and 30 a few 50 quid jobs and some commercial work for 2 3 4 hundred so as the saying goes dont be a busy fool price it correctly and you can make money faster and without doing 100s of under priced work
Yeah 8-10 quid is just too cheap! So they would have to do 30 cleans a day for about £280. No chance of employing people so for me that’s not what you would call a business. Sometimes I clean a house and I’m almost embarrassed at how much we’ve charged for the time taken but I think that’s when you know you’ve got it right.
I don’t think it’s a case of what’s fair. It’s more about what would attract staff and retain staff who are going to do a good job. I found it better to pay staff as well as you can.
I’ve got about 15 customers at the moment around 15-30 pound per customer my question is do I stay in around that area or try in others ? Also how do you go about getting new customers?
Why fish in a small pond? When I was just starting out I mainly got customers through canvassing. Now virtually all my customers come from the web. I will have memberships on my channel soon where I intend to go into more detail.
Strange what you say about customers who don't pay. In our company in Norway, it is probably 4 years between each time we experience that a customer does not want to pay. Almost everything is completely automatic, and invoicing is perhaps 2-3 hours of work per month.

At 236 customers, i don't think i would be employing anyone, especially at £12.50 a job, and they get a discount for the first 6 months...Why?
Definitely not yes I’d want to get to the point where I’m oversubscribed and increased prices before taking anyone on
