We call our Stargazer Ms. Michin, because of its alarms, driving aids, and other warning devices. While its annoying at times, its really suitable as a family vehicle. As to safety 10/10.
Ahhh, yes. The Stargazer. Especially the GLS Premium variant. My ultimate TOTGA.
Why TOTGA?
Last year we were on a search for a new, well-equipped MPV. The Xpander GLS first came to our minds, although we were also considering the Veloz, not thinking much about either getting the G or V variant. But it was already the latter half of the year, and it was around that time when Hyundai announced bringing in the Stargazer, which first made an appearance in Indonesia. So I checked it out, the actual photos and videos of the Stargazer in Indonesia, and ohhh boy does it somehow look like the Xpander, but with smoother curves and an ultra-futuristic design language. I told my parents and older brother, “should we wait for the Stargazer?” to which they were affirmative of.
And it was around November when Hyundai officially made available this model here in our country. We were excited. Right before our very eyes was this all-new, brand-new model, one that we Pinoys have never seen before. From the outside to the inside, everything is just… 👌🏻. But the most exciting part was when we took this for a test drive.
It was the best. driving. MPV. ever. Much more comfortable than the Xpander and Veloz. Interior space, being the most important factor when considering an MPV, was best manifested in the Stargazer. Much headroom, legroom, and width-simply, the most spacious MPV in our market today. I knew I was really gonna fall in love with it. Ditto for my mother and older brother.
Until December came and we the family got ourselves a Christmas gift… on a 3 vs 1 vote…
We got the Xpander GLS.
They still decided the Xpander, I was the only one crazy about the Stargazer.
It was mom who had the ultimate decision for us all. She cited the Xpander’s high ground clearance (and that alone) as her biggest deciding factor to get the Xpander over the Stargazer. No, she wasn’t convinced with the more powerful engine, IVT, futuristic design, and more safety and tech features found in the Stargazer. It was the ground clearance she was most concerned about. Ultimately, she described the Stargazer as “like a sedan but taller and longer”. Comfortable, yet with low ground clearance.
Older brother cited practicality at a lower price as the Xpander’s strength over the Stargazer, looking at additional technology features as “gimmicks”. Father, who is abroad, cited the Mitsubishi branding and the Xpander’s long run in the PH MPV market as its advantage over the Stargazer.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I do love our Xpander who is already 5 months old as of this posting. It does serve our purpose of getting an MPV. It’s just… everytime I see Stargazers plying the streets, I can’t help myself but think of them as The One That Got Away. 🥺
And I feel really, really bad for people buying an Xpander Cross over the Stargazer GLS Premium-they wasted more money but still get less practical, safety, and technology features than the Hyundai MPV. And it seems that the Xpander Cross, despite coming later than the Stargazer GLS Premium, is more popular and there are more of them on the roads. I’m talking about the new, refreshed, 2023 model here. Maybe they also cared about the high ground clearance? The SUV-ish appearance? The Mitsubishi branding?
I can’t dictate for all but I believe the Stargazer GLS Premium is the best top-of-the-line MPV one can get right now. I’m more than confident to call it an Xpander/Veloz killer. 👊🏻
Galing ng pagkasulat mo, sir! Napabasa talaga ako bakit TOTGA para sa inyo ang stargazer. Maybe in the future, stargazer na yung kukunin nyo na para sa inyo talaga.
I think I can hear your voice narrating this😅. Well said.
Well put. 🤙
Sobrang scam ng Xpander at the current price point 😢
Xpander glx ako wala ako pera
Got a chance to test drive all MPV's and compare them all. The best talaga ang Stargazer sa Driving experience and Space. Then we rented a stargazer GLS premium. Loaded kami sa Family namin 7 kami lahat sa kotse. At pa akyat. Hindi talaga Bitin sa power at fuel efficient pa kahit na traffic kami at maraming akyatan yet efficient parin. And also as what caco said the NVH is superb, ang tamihik nya sa Highway minimal lang yung tire noise and wind noise. The IVT is excellent, it's responsive and efficient unlike sa Ibang CVT na parang may delay at rubber band feeling na medyo slow yung response. My family fell in love with this MPV sa comfort na experience namin. soon bibili kami nito this 2024. At first, hindi ako na impressed sa Front designed parang weird. But matagal kun nakita. Maganda sya kasi hindi sya Common and futuristic yung design. Hyundai's parts and reliability laking improved na over the years. Marami naman Kia's and Hyundai tumakbo pa. At yung tita ko my hyundai. 10 years ma yung elantra and tucson niya. So far so good as long maintained lang. Mas sirain pa nga Ford Territory namin kaysa Hyundai creta ng Cousin ko. Kahit mag check pa kayo sa Ford Territory group namin. Daming issues nangyari sa Terri namin😢.

Pretty impressive review. Thanks Caco!
I'm super happy with our Suzuki XL7 2021 (bought it at PHP 1.068M which in hindsight seems super cheap!). It's now PHP 1.181M with no added features.
This Stargazer variant (just add PHP 100K plus more) has a CVT, cruise control, different types of driving mode, lots of space inside and really efficient fuel engine and a bit more power than our XL7. If I was on tje market now for a new MPV, I would definitely consider this vehicle and wouldn't mind spending a little bit more! Sulit siya!
Cvt is a feature now??
I thought everybody was warning us about cvts and that they don't last long and not reliable like regular automatics
And definetly will not handle extra wieght very well if you put extra luggage on top of the car
I really believe Hyundai is missing out by not including a panoramic sunroof on a car named Stargazer
nice one
Caco has become muscular. Working out? Pretty macho now.
small goblins should be muscular po
@@rexmarcoandres3805maka small goblin ka naman
after siguro mag review ng non-powersteering vehicles
Nice and very practical. Could you give me the name of the soundtrack you've used?
very compelling proposition higlighted by this excellent review 🎉
Sir question. Yung rear aircon ba ay blower or may pampalamig din? Planning to get the Stargazer X.
Nice! Comparo please😊, with brv vx and xpander or cross🙏 vs stargazer. Thanks!
I don't know if it's just me but I find the transition music to loud compared to the vocals. I'm ending up putting the volume down whenever there is a transition music and increasing the volume as you do the review. just my 2 cents.
But as Always review is very very helpful and informative
very nice presentation!
The AC controller is still with knobs? Isn't this the highest trim? Indonesia version is all digital. And also need to try the 6sp manual version. It is awesome, but only available on 2 lowest trims. Without all the high tech features, sad.
Basically,
I want the Brv exterior design, stargazer interior, xpander driving xperience (EPB, autohold, cruise),
Veloz tech and safty, ertigas fuel efficiency
video quality upgrade nice! new gears!
Can you turnoff the lane keep assist?
Finally!!!! #1!!! Go Caco and AD Team!
The best review guru ever. Please teach some guys out there Mali Mali ang English & pronunciation hehehe kainis panuorin...
I really want to meet this Jack 😅 -- as always good review! 🎉
Nice. Ito yung nakita ko sa SM Bacolod. Ganda nito sa personal
Is the aircon good? The aircon that we had in our Suzuki is not that good :(
Sir please full review the new Mazda bt50 pangolin edition 4x4 thanks
Cant use the stargazer for stargazing due to the lack of moonroof. What a waste of opportunity
Caco a in depth review of 2023 subaru forester pls
im looking forward for Mitsubishi delica D5 an all-rounder on my opinion
Why does the one I saw in another video, a showcase at Bangkok the dashboard is different and have automatic climate control? Why we dont have that here in PH?
When Caco says driving 20Kph on a left lane I was so relate.
Love the final venue. Puwede po ba mamasyal dyan?
Sir Caco, this or the brv for your own liking? :)
that 45degree angle always cracks me up 🙂
Wow affordable and yet comfortable and classy!😍
Can't wait for the Ultimate Comparo (MPV) BRV vs. Xpander vs. Veloz vs. Livina vs. Ertiga and this Stargazer. Make this happen @Autodeal please 🙏🙏🙏
PS~ Alam naman natin lahat na parang may make-up lang na Xpander GLS ang Xpander Cross compare sa GLS variant but bit pricey than the regular variant🤣
Hindi ba sagabal ung sa may dashboard? Parang may nakaharang specially sa maliit na tao. Correct me if I’m wrong?
you didn't talk about the gray thing that opens up in the passenger front
Im torn between stargazerX and expander GLS help me decide😢
Nice. The closest competitor of veloz on price and features.
Hey bro I did all that .on the back side of the box .it says off and set but there's no switch .what the hell.
The ending got me 😂 14:32
A comparo between this, the Veloz and the BR-V would be nice. Add in the Expander too but sadly, that lacks the features that the first 3 vehicles have in terms of driving aids and will put it at a huge disadvantage.
Yeah. *cough cough* Xpander Cross *cough cough* overpriced *cough cough* less features
Veloz underpowered but have great safety features, BR-V good power good features good safety but most expensive in all three, Xpander underpowered lack features lacks safety, and lastly Stargazer good features good power good safety good price.. So Stargazer is the best in this segment (not all will be impressed on stargazer exterior design tho)

Here in Indonesia we never compare BR-V with Veloz, Xpander and Stargazer, it's always been with Rush/Terios
Honda Sensing
Top Gear Philippines recently made a video comparison between the Toyota Veloz, Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, Honda BR-V, and Hyundai Stargazer.
Review of jetour x70 please,
I love how it's not trying to look like an SUV unlike some of it's competitors.
Stirring wheel not telescopic? Looks a little high
Wonderful review. We might get this car here in India soon. Ofcourse in right hand drive😅. Just a quick question. Is the CVT paired to the ICE via a torque converter or is there some kind of a dry clutch in place?
Thanks 🙏
Yes, torque converter.
Ok po yan sa akyatan sa Baguio?
in Germany also available ????
i comparo na yan vs veloz..uphill
please do a haima7x review pls
Im just looking at Caco's bicep every now and then :p
How much Po dp and monthly???
Reminds me of toyota family van during the 80s
What isnur height sir caco?
Looks like xpander and livina. At night this stargazer really looks great, cool tail lights and fancy lights in front but during daylight the car looks really weird I dont if it just me but it looks like a mammal to me. 😅
not about the car, but Caco is starting to looking jacked. (no pun intended)
Please do a comparo between this, the Xpander Cross, BRV and XL7🙏
+1
For my observation specially,.In the dash of this one this one the STARGAZING is a downer
Nuffsaid,.But the one that I love or what I love about this car is the back tail lights because of its futurist looks
And it not only looks,. Futuristic but it's also cool to look at too
That's what I like and love about this car,. Despite the bad looks of the dash that's the only one that I don't like too of it
Soon... here I come my stargazer...
Caco has jinxed it 😂. The large dashboard/bezel has become full piano black, albeit smaller, in the latest refresh overseas.
good riddance
What were they smoking when they approved that dashboard?
Stargazer GLS vs Xpander GLS 2023 comparo pls
I will buy this. Stargazer.
Caco Macho in da Haus!! Olryts!!
Legs at a 90* angle?
That dash bezel does makes the infotainment look like a CRT screen for some reason. Looks kind of retro contrasting the futuristic exterior.
Super 💯
"Shine like a SUPERSTAR" - Jack 2023
The 1.5L turbo of the 2024 Accent suits better on this mpv.
The lights at the spot where the bumpers are usually most useful are super special big middle fingers directed straight at the consumers.
nice
Afaik, Thailand already got the redesigned dashboard. It has a trimmed top portion to address visibility issues but unfortunately for Caco, they changed the plastic gray trim into a piano black finish. 😁
It's not a visibility issues, it's just people dislike its design
@@HyperVanilo got the info from an autoindustriya article. As far as the visibility issue, they say thats probably the reason why it was trimmed at the portion infront of the steering wheel, especially for shorter drivers. And yes of course, the whole design too, which is not in sync with its futuristic exterior.
@@gzrbutler8926 I'm short, all I do is adjust the seat height and problem solved
Hopefully, they redesign the dashboard for the Ph version. I was planning to get one but the dashboard keeps stopping me from getting one.
@@HyperVaniloIf you think that you need to adjust your seat position just because of that dashboard design, then clearly it means that there's really a problem with it.
Comparo please AutoDeal
Comparo with stargazer, brv, velos and expander please
Stargazer is easily the best. Here in Indonesia Veloz is more expensive than Xpander and Stargazer despite its features are more or less the same as the Stargazer, people buy Xpander because it's comfortable, that's it.
I don't mind paying more for a sunroof. Sana kahit sa Premium or X variant manlang meron
does the lane assist prevent you from changing lanes?
It will just warn you if you are out of your lane. But if you use your signal light to change lane then it will not be activated. I don't have the Stargazer but I have the same tech in my car.
prang lumang futuristic ung looks, dko alam kung sa back to the future ko ba un nakita. but this one is powerful and spacious seats
Saw once a Stargazer that is in all black, and man that looks so good!
It looks like a sophisticated xpander from afar.
Exterior looks futuristic, lovin it!
But - the dashboard and head unit is BS. Apart from that, everything seems super nice.
Wow your shoes tho❤😮
How can you gaze at the stars if there's no sun roof 🥴
Moonroof perhaps? 😅
I'll still go with Xpander GLS 2023 anytime of the day, month and years.
1. Practicality, parts/accesories can be avaialable on other market even outside the dealership.
2. After sales service and branding, cars are like mobile phone. Stargazer might have an edge on 1 or 2 instances with the Xpander GLS, but at the end of the day, you cannot all use those features on a daily driving basis.
I bet you can't even buy a rain visor of stargazer, outside the dealership.
Caco Caco Caco ftw!!!
The invisible hand theory
Uf. This came in like it was meant to be. I really like the Stargazer but on my area, the Xpander Cross is the best choice because of floods especially these coming rainy days. Although I really this one. 😂
Exterior really looks nice practicality…, yes it is. However, i am into the interior design, being a driver looking at that dash driving, not really my type. Good thing it is under a famous brand if not, i wont even bother looking at this car.
Will wait for Hyundai to bring in the stargazer with remodeled dashboard panel. That's how bad the current design is IMO
been torn between this and veloz😢,the down side of this vehicle is its dashboard,it is so ugly, but the ridw and comfort and power is good,
The fact that a car called "stargazer" doesnt have a moon/sunroof is such a huge missed opportunity bruh
The biggest downside for me is its overall shape which resembles an egg, unlike the BR-V, Xpander, and Avanza with a more pronounced two-box design. Without a proper headrest and three-point seatbelt for the second-row middle passenger, I'd only consider it a 6+1 seater.
Remember when Hyundai sold the old Space Wagon as the Santamo? Now the Stargazer even trumps the Xpander in many ways.
I actually kinda like the grille. It looks very unique compared to the aggressive styling of the grilles of various mpv/crossover.
Spacewagon vibes
Hyundai stargazer
Hyundai cars is the most popular in South Korea..
❤
Parang di ok ang dashboard mataas masyado.
Shouldn't the Stargazer have a massive sunroof? 😢
If they call it stargazer i woukd at least expect it to have a moonroof as standard i mean....???
headlights double as a bumper
Mazda cx-9 💥
Pwede! Good 3rd row space! Better than the Land Cruiser’s 😂
Lol. Can't compare the MPV to full size SUV. 😂
@@hawkeye1921 Stargazer 3rd row is even better 🥴🤣 Shame on LC 😆
Hahaha🎹🎶
Naku naman there's no spare sa tires hirap niyan hehe... wala pang updates sa new agya (toyota wigo) at sa new vios and innova ...paki update naman lodi god bless caco!!...
Spare tire at the back. I own the base variant.
Hindi pa sya turbo charge sayang
Hyundai stargazer made in Indonesia right?
Ok good luck
I from indonesian
