Those who drive these kinds of cars usually have drivers. And most of the road bullies who drive this type were the drivers and not the owner. If you notice every time this vehicle drives like crazy, it's always one person in the car. And that's the driver. Which is supposed to take care of the car, not race on it.
If it had bigger wheels, maybe. There's something 'Supermarket Trolley' about its proportions as it is. Needs a bright orange spoiler with a little box to put a pound-coin in ;)

I now live in Septic land, and because we have a family of 5 and growing, our "family" car has been a Sienna (which I know you can't get back home). We have the top trim, but it has always lacked that *something*. To someone who has driven the Sienna almost exclusively whilst being in the States, honestly, I am surprised it has taken Toyota this long to launch this. Unfortunately, it will probably take about 2-300k miles more on my Sienna until I can justify and upgrade to this. These things are literally indestructible (I had my FIL's Sienna from the 90's that had 350k miles on it and it just wouldn't die). Well done, Toyota, looks like I will be staying with you.
Luxury mini van is the thing in the Asian countries so you see them alot in Asia. However, in the UK, not a whole lot of demands for these types of vans.
It's not based on the RX, it's an evolution of the Toyota Alphard. We have both, and they're completely different - it would be impossible to fit the RX chassis under the Alphard. The only similarity between the RX and the (JDM) Alphard is the wonderful 3.5-litre V6 engine, which drives brilliantly, even as front-wheel-drive. JDM cars are a bargain, and you can even get this seat configuration - it's called the "Royal Lounge". Highly recommended!
This van is all about comfort, not racing. 🙄 It has saved us a lot of headache being stranded at the port in the middle of a sudden hurricane. The fridge, digital tuner we installed plus the hybrid system kept us happy for almost 40 hours while barely consuming any gas. Not to mention the comfortable sleeping position. The quiet engine didn’t bother people around us either.
Sitting in the cramped back seat of an S-Class or 7-Series, where you can't even stretch your legs, doesn’t really help you recover from fatigue and feel truly rejuvenated. But the back seat of the LM revitalizes him. It's no wonder that energetic and hardworking Asian CEOs, who work far more than their Western counterparts, choose the LM. However, no matter how much money you have, you’ll have to wait over a year to get one.
To think that the LM started off from the JDM-only alphard, but I suppose Toyota internationalized the Alphard as there were too many grey-exports. The LM is the next logical move after seeing the Alphard take off in China. BTW, Alphards absolutely rule in Japan, probably as hire cars. I didn't see a single modern Elgrand at all.

@dancinglight8545people drive them for the higher driving position, this doesn't mean it has to have a high ride height, many vans have a similar driving position without this. Almost no one makes any use of the ride height either, compromising handling and performance for no reason.

My grandparents in Asia had one where the 2nd row seats could convert to wheelchairs. The chairs would connect to a robotic arm to get the chairs in/out of the car. Pretty cool, but crazy expensive. I think they spent the equivalent of around USD 175k for it.
If I won the lottery I’m buying this and hiring a driver 😂
This hybrid doesn't have the CVT transmission, it has planetary drive like all Toyota's hybrids do.
Not the typical cvt, but results are same

Would be great if they also import the Velfire/Alphard, the Toyota version of this van

Glad you test quirky cars like this as well 😊
In Malaysia we have Alphard and Vellfire. Most of them are road bullies and lane hogger 😂. Saw the older LM only once here in my hometown with single digit plate number which is insanely expensive.
Peti ais bro haha
Those who drive these kinds of cars usually have drivers. And most of the road bullies who drive this type were the drivers and not the owner. If you notice every time this vehicle drives like crazy, it's always one person in the car. And that's the driver. Which is supposed to take care of the car, not race on it.
LOL, the four seats one is selling for about 210,000 GBP in China, after the dealers' markup.

It doesn’t need to be classed as a Rolls Royce, Lexus is a statement in it’s own!💯
That front is .. something alright. Rest is pretty decent looking.
Front grill is horrible had it been a bmw everyone would be shitting on it
If it had bigger wheels, maybe. There's something 'Supermarket Trolley' about its proportions as it is. Needs a bright orange spoiler with a little box to put a pound-coin in ;)

I've been in love with luxury Japanese mpvs since I found out about the Toyota Alphard a while ago. The Nissan Elgrand, Toyota Estima, Vellfire, and others, the Lexus LM is probably the closest thing we'll get here in Europe. And boy was I excited when I heard that this car will be sold here, even though I fully know I'll probably never be able to afford one

there is also toyota noah/voxy also sold cheaper than a LM..its 29000$ in my country..................its affordable.. I think they might actually sell it in Europe.. Seen one dude own in Russia

14:00 Mat born in the paraller universe
For a moment, I thought Matt said "highly effluent" in his quote at the start 😂
Well this is very efficient.
Noice unusual different
I hate minivans but this thing is cool. I need to race my souped up Toyota Alphard in GT7 this weekend.
Again, hybrid eCVT isn’t the conventional CVT!
You know that in the key there is also an emergency mechanical key to open the front door 😉
I think most people have forgotten about this for any smart key car. Matt certainly could've saved himself a lot of trouble.

With a WALD widebody kit, preferably the Black Bison label
This van is all about comfort, not racing. 🙄
It has saved us a lot of headache being stranded at the port in the middle of a sudden hurricane.
The fridge, digital tuner we installed plus the hybrid system kept us happy for almost 40 hours while barely consuming any gas.
Not to mention the comfortable sleeping position. The quiet engine didn’t bother people around us either.
Every luxury shuttle in London should switch to that.
The warning stickers inside really add to the luxury feel…
On my wish list! 😍
However, it definitely needs some aftermarket wheels and some modifications to the engine. Then I will be truly happy. 🤔
This car is more suitable for chauffeured passenger. If you want to modify it to your liking, it's better to choose cheaper siblings, Alphard.
22’s and a chrome delete 👍🏻
@@KarrasBastomi or Alphard's cheaper sibling Noah/voxy
Sitting in the cramped back seat of an S-Class or 7-Series, where you can't even stretch your legs, doesn’t really help you recover from fatigue and feel truly rejuvenated. But the back seat of the LM revitalizes him. It's no wonder that energetic and hardworking Asian CEOs, who work far more than their Western counterparts, choose the LM. However, no matter how much money you have, you’ll have to wait over a year to get one.
a family trip or a trip with a group in a minivan just hits different
To think that the LM started off from the JDM-only alphard, but I suppose Toyota internationalized the Alphard as there were too many grey-exports. The LM is the next logical move after seeing the Alphard take off in China. BTW, Alphards absolutely rule in Japan, probably as hire cars. I didn't see a single modern Elgrand at all.
We had an Elgrand before we got our Alphard - the Nissan car was coarse and fragile in comparison.
