    Most of the time I shop at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. I do a little shopping at Meijer, but not much. Our Walmart food prices are high so I rarely go there and their produce doesn’t usually look good. It would be awesome if your daughter shared some of her ideas! Thank you for sharing and for all you do for our community😊

      I have tried this and they make the potatoes taste sweet!! Which is not what I want. I do not care for 'sweet 'potatoes. The cold causes some of the starch in the potato to turn to sugar- apparently. For my family is was a "yuck- what's on theses potatoes?" I eat a lot of potatoes so I don't have to store too many for too long. Just my two cents

    ???I wrote about washing produce that says “three times washed. “ we watched a program that told even though it says washed doesn’t necessarily mean it’s washed properly. We don’t trust them. I like your prep idea however I need to wash them. How would I do that and keep them from wilting ???

    • @NutmegNotebook
      @NutmegNotebook  8 місяців тому +1

      Maybe batch prep the ingredients and wash it just before you eat it? Its the moisture in the produce that starts to make it wilt or go slimy, so if you wash it first you'll have to figure out how to get it dry before you batch prep it.

    • @NutmegNotebook
      @NutmegNotebook  8 місяців тому

      We wouldn’t buy that much food if it went bad before we ate it. The pears banana and mangoes take time to ripen. We freeze the banana once ripe to use in recipes. We have our grandchildren here through out the week and they help us eat the food too. We freeze or cook anything we can’t eat before it spoils.
