Rolled oats make me sleepy, so I use quinoa. Also much better to use a coffee grinder and prep your flax seeds because they are much more nutritious than the pre ground. Also a few walnuts, goji berries, blackberries and raspberries makes it more power packed. What is more important than eating nutritious food? Well done!

Tami, I can so relate to you. Most of my life I’ve never been hungry in the morning. But when I got married, I started having a lite breakfast with my husband for a little while. I never had a weight issue, but I typically am not hungry until 1 PM and that’s when I have my first meal. I was doing intermittent fasting before it was a thing and didn’t know it. I have to try chopping my salad. My first meal in the afternoon is also a very big salad and sometimes I just have a snack later depending on what time I feel hungry. I also make a huge salad with tomatoes, onions, celery, olives, peppers, garbanzo beans I mix all that in a bowl with balsamic vinegar and lemon. And then in a separate container I have all the lettuce because I don’t want it to become mushy. I keep them separate. I normally make enough to last me 5 to 6 days. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Tami so pleased you are getting a lot of interest. I'm constantly asking questions. I only started having an interest in food over the past year.
I was watching your video about you showing your pantry and how you place everything.
I wish I had a pantry but have to put everything in cupboards attached to the wall and I'm not particular tall.
Talking about storing your food in plastic or glass containers. I thought about doing this but I think they take up more space as when they become more or less used then it's taking up space. Sorry I hope you know what I mean. Having said that it might be a way. Can you advise me.
I noticed when you freeze food do you not blanch them first?
I was amazed at how you make cheese sauce without many cheese!
I better let you go as I have a million and one questions but will ask you at a later date.
Kindest regards to Tom, he is so helpful. I wish my partner was the same!
I'm now going to watch today's video. Oh just to say I live in the UK .Just thought I would tell you.
Ok Tami thanking you for all your information. It's kind of you to take the time.
    Regards Patricia

Check he bulk section at Whole Foods. They have organic chia and hemp seeds for a very good price. Usually significantly less than smaller packages. They also have whole flax seeds for $1.99lb! , but you would need to grind before eating...

We don't compare ourselves to others - our individual food needs are different and that is okay. There is no certain amount that everyone should eat as we are not all the same. Your bodies caloric needs will be different than mine and mine are different than my husbands. So eat the amount that is right for you!

I realize this video is old as with most of the videos I comment on. Do you kids know that California holds the market with almonds and they have a law that almonds have to be irradiated to prevent slamonila. Unless you find a Organic almond farmer or purchase organic almonds and milk or butter, it's all otherwise made with California irradiated almonds. Almonds are also one of the main nuts with the most anti nutrients. I always soaked almonds two days and changed the water often when I used to make my own almond milk and fermented nut yogurt. Orgainc almonds are very expensive and difficult to locate.i wonder if a pill box would be useful for the individual spice blends for sauces. I'm sure that would partly depend on the amounts of spices and the size of the pill box.

Newbie here and so interested in knowing why eat it raw? Does it have to be steel cut long cooking type? Love your channel!

Surprised airports will allow you to carry it on through security. Maybe if you have zero liquids or the balsamic dressing is in a 3 oz. container in the 1 qt. ziplock?

I have to say you both are great. Always so lively and informative, but just a little suggestion. Can you make you videos shorter? Honestly, they are just way too long for me. You just made a comment about the length, so you know they are long.

Thank you for your kind comments. We do usually make 1 hour long videos - we have a reputation for being thorough with our instructions. We have discovered that so many of our subscribers are new to cooking and need the full on instructions. Some people tell us they watch the vidoes in 15-20 minutes segments and that works for them. We understand that not everyone can take a full hour to watch a video but perhaps breaking it up into smaller views will work for you too. Happy Cooking!

????Tammy did you eat oats and flax while you were losing weight? I know Chef AJ says no oats while losing. I’m curious if you did while losing????

I did eat a little bit of oats while losing weight. Chef AJ says you can have oats and flax - it's good if you can wait until you get through the first 21 days but if not then at least eat your veggies first in the morning before having the oats.

      Hello Jeane
please consider watching 1/2 now and youtube will pick up where you paused to watch the rest later. We do that when we watch some other long form channels. Our pre-recorded recipe uploads are usually aroung 20 minutes.
      Happy Cooking

Tom, do you like you oats raw/cold or do you cook them?

    • @NutmegNotebook
      @NutmegNotebook  4 роки тому

I just add the almond milk and eat them cold, strong preference for that, i like a little "chew" If you put the almond milk in the night before you could make overnight oats but that is too mushy for me.

Thanks Tom, I like oats that way. Everything you eat in a day looks delicious. Thank you for sharing!
