I overcame my fear, wouldn't say phobia but fear by resding about spiders ad then buying one.Now they are just like any other animal to me.They are fascinating creatures.

Great time - lapse molt - I've seen this so many times but it never ceases to amaze me how they manage to squeeze the new body size inside the old exoskeleton, almost alien like, superb video's.

+Exotics Lair so that makes them vulnerable to predators so that is why the wild ones hide after a molt is that why
+Sharnee Hogan They use their moult as a decoy lol
they also shouldnt be fed do a week after they molt or even some days longer because their fangs are still soft any could break if the bite their prey.
Yeah it takes a few hours or days to become solid again.

This is one of the most fascinating videos I've seen mr. Exotic Lair. That was totally cool to watch. And I love learning new things about tarantulas. All kidding aside I'm thinking about getting one. But I'm just thinking about it. I have severe Arachnophobia but as I have said many times tarantulas don't look like spiders. Gina Embry I doubt it, they’re really soft (if you look closely during moulting you’ll see it has white fangs) so they won’t want to put themselves in danger by attacking anything

I’m no spider expert so, why do they do they molt?
Does it hurt them to molt? He seemed to twitch alot after the molt was already off and then bunched his legs all together when he finally flipped over.
I was about to ask the same... the poor thing didn't seem to have a very fun time.
Have you ever tried to breed a hibrid T or do you just stick with their sub-spieses (sorry for spelling)

Nature has the most oddly specific holes, from beehives to that tarantula's moult around the leg. It's those kinds of trypophobia holes.
