Hi! The root system is wrapped in moss and then adhered to the wooden plank. Ideally, you would want to keep the roots centered on the plank so the plant has an even space to grow across but there is not necessarily an up or down.
Jamie .. where would one find a cork board with that realistic texture? I was going to use your method with pieces of wood but I think it will just make it heavier than it needs to be. The plant itself will get heavy enough so I think the cork is the best option for mounting.
This is by far the best video on this!
Fantastic, informative video. Thank you for spelling out the important steps. Excited to try this!
You're welcome! Let us know how it turns out!
beautiful! love the step by step instructions. Thank you!
Appreciate this explanation. I’m curious how to know when a fern is specifically Australian…in other words, ferns that tolerate drought well.
Can you use regular oak moss in a basket with coconut husk liner to place a pup that was broken off the mother plant?
How do you know which way is up on the plant itself

Hi Sarah! We would recommend checking out a pet store. You can often find pieces of cork wood from specialty reptile and amphibian dealers.
I could see at least three that could've been mounted separately
And?
