You've got a bunch of nice chunks. Don't be fooled by sellers in thinking they are different plants. Epipremnum aureum golden, Epipremnum aureum Hawaiian, gaint golden pothos, and golden pothos are all the same plant.

idk my hawian pothos is much darker and rounder than my golden pothos i think its small minor differences that calling it a different type is kinda a push

'Hawaiian Pothos' is a common moniker we use even in our Etsy shop with the giant 2" thick vine cuttings we sell from the 60 foot tall ones we have growing here. But you are correct that it is a regular Golden Pothos, and there is not an officially recognized 'Hawaiian Pothos'. But many people call it that when they reach giant size, You are doing an amazing job creating the right environment for it to recreate the conditions that let it grow to awesome size! bright light, humidity, and something porous and moist to climb! Great video and great tips!

.. It is "just" a Epipremnum Aureum, but the most beautiful one I've ever seen 🤗 and you are simply giving it the perfect conditions to grow.. Bright indirect light, high humidity and the right soil.. It really can't ask for more.. My plant grew bigger leafs too when given a pole, a bigger pot (self watering) and moved close to my garden door to have brighter light.. The one in my kitchen is hanging, also in bright indirect light and grew bigger leafs, and faster.. After all, it is all about light, humidity, soil and love 🌞☺️ Epipremnum aureum is an evergreen vine growing to 20 m (66 ft) tall, with stems up to 4 cm (2 in) in diameter, climbing using aerial roots which adhere to surfaces. The leaves are alternate, heart-shaped, entire on juvenile plants, but irregularly pinnatifid on mature plants, up to 100 cm (39 in) long and 45 cm (18 in) broad; juvenile leaves are much smaller, typically under 20 cm (8 in) long.
Originally, it was endemic to the island of Mo'orea from the Society Islands. However, it is now wild in many tropical countries. The following ranges are indicated: Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, People's Republic of China (Hainan, Hong Kong), Taiwan, Japan (Ryukyu Islands, Ogasawara Islands, Bonin Islands), Malaysia (the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak), Singapore, Indonesia (Java, Maluku Islands, Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi, Sumatra), Philippines, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, New Guinea, Australia (Queensland), Marshall Islands, Hawaii, Palau, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, and Western Samoa.

Hi Kaitlyn! Stumbled across your channel a few days ago while researching care for my new monstera, and am really enjoying your videos!
I suspect what you have there is a very healthy specimen of regular golden pothos vs a different variety or species. They do in fact get that big or bigger in the right conditions. I live in Miami, and pothoses sometimes get planted here as landscape plantings. When they find a tree or telephone pole or some other tall structure to climb they regularly grow vines a couple inches in diameter and push out leaves in excess of a foot long, often with fenestrations. It’s pretty amazing to get one to grow like that indoors. I’ve definitely never seen one that big in pot.

The leaves that grew from that node were like 11in. . And those were the first that grew. You must see that video.
It's called GIANT POTHOSE NODE AND UPDATE.

I found a “Giant Texas Pothos” for sale here in Austin. It was still a trailing plant, with large leaves, though not as large as your “Hawaiian Giant.” As soon as I became the plant parent, however, the new growth was smaller leaves, more typical for trailing Pothos. I believe the size of the leaves in my plant was entirely due to growing conditions. Alas, the plant died later in an unexpected freeze, so I have no current conditions to report

So I've been researching about fenestrated epipremnums, because I found some interesting vines resently during a mountain bike trip, and I thought they where monstera adansonii at first, but checking photos online, because I haven't ever had an adansonii actually, I notice it wasn't quite the same, then some people on Facebook told me it was a pothos, so I would love to know what variety is it because it has big fenestrations, no variegation, and here in my country I've seen gigantic golden pothos, and they all looked like hers, they are all variegated with very round leafs. Mine has no signs of variegation and leafs aren't as big as those in her plant. I've seen epipremnum pinnatum and cebu blue do fenestrate, but both of those have very long narrow leaves compared to mine. Unless they get wider in their mature form.
Anyway, I haven't ever cared to much about pothos, I mean I've always liked it but nothing special. But now I find them fascinating, learning how much they transform with age and development.
In case anyone is curious I'm from Honduras, Central America so finding an adansonii in the wild wouldn't be weird at all because they are native from this region. While pothos on the other hand are not, but they've been introduce long ago; still I thought only Golden pothos was so widely spread.

I wonder if all pothos will grow big if staked up 🤔

  • @cindybellwood110

You can buy and add more moss poles to attacc to that one. The les light the smaller the leaves and the further apart the leaves will be and the vine really leggy. Give the vines a cut and put them in water until they root. Really it's not a hard plant. I have all different kinds of pothos. They a all need med to bright light.

Your house looks like mine in the winter I live in SC I take all my house plants which is a ton and some how on front porch others under car port. I get them used to being outside this way early on so they only live in the house through the winter months but looks like a jungle when they all come inside.

I believe yours is still e. Aureum. At heights they grow larger and fenestrate, however most usually revert back to some smaller leaves.. You’ve simply done a great job with it. Can you post a video explaining lighting and temps etc.
I would move it from the shame room immediately.

Any Pothos plant on a moss pole will grow this big after 3-4 moss pole extensions when you do a pole cut and move it back down to the bottom. I think you need to learn how to make moss poles and extend them for that plant in particular, and put the portions that have grown off of the moss pole on top on to another one and into a pot.

When I finally broke down and repotted my huge monstera deliciosa it was so bad I had my friend hold the plant up and I had to cut the pot off. Too many roots had grown out of the bottom. It would have damaged them trying to pull them tgeough

my goal is to have a thick trunked tree (dead or alive, probably dead because I don't want to deal with leaves lol) in my house with monstera and pothos growing haywire on it :) after finding out photos leaves can get big I've always wanted one that was giant. right now I'm just working my way up to it by growing dome small pothos cuttings and monstera cuttings on dead branches though. i live in the desert but i have a date palm that produces this gauze-like wood on it that is easy to peel off it doesn't look good on the tree so my family normally just removes it but I've been starting to use it for my plants as a replacement for moss and I'm thinking of incorporating it into my soil mixture as well as a stand-in for orchid mix :3 I'll update with results.

A regular pothos can grow that huge under the right conditions like a place to climb & good light the leaves grow sometimes on a tree trunk & leaves reach 12 or more inches length 💚💛🌱

I just bought some from a little flower shop in the Bronx, N.Y. and the leaves are as large as yours. It could be just soil and atmosphere that account for its size.
