If you don't want an emote to display all you have to do is to add "motion" after it and it will only do the animation. (ex. "/toast motion")

another thing i learned from my soon to be husbando in game is the use of double parenthesis when RP-ing in tells/ party chat to
speak in your IRL self -- different from what your RP character is saying. this is good to denote stuff like you need to brb or something
ex: Cai's wrung her hands as she waited for your reply ((oh shit hold on my cat is about to drop the glass from table, brb))
i honestly didn't know what happens in RP chat until my friend told me how he does his XD

In my opinion, mute the Emote Text only if you plan to spam the Emote. If you only use it one time, it could be overseen by other players, but they can read it in the Chat.
Honestly, yeah that's a great way to look at it. It would save you time typing for sure.

Hi! I know this is an old video but, since I finished EW I've been a bit bored and wanted to try RP out. I've never done it b4 and this is my first MMO so, although your video has been helpful, I still don't know where to begin (literally where). Do I just walk up to ppl with the tag and talk to them? (if it wasn't painfuly obvious I'm a bit shy when it comes to talking to strangers).

Regardless of server there is usually some venues that are listed up in party finder! You can always start there. Or if you're on Crystal, as much of a meme as it is, you can always find some people looking to rp on Balmung (I'm on crystal only so I can't speak for other DCs). Hopefully you've found something by now! But if not, hopefully this info helps

I've been RPing for 7 months now, it has been a very rich experience. I've learned so much and have experienced everything. Now I'm more tuned to what I want to do.
Also, people need to tone down their edgelordiness... Like we get it, you're another Xaela Dotharl badass, something something "I'm a reaper voidsent"..... Yeah..... so is everyone else in the game. I would challenge others to try and find more interesting ways to create an RP character
Let's not judge what other find enjoyable in a video game :) If people want to play an edgy person, like me a complete opposite of edgy, then let them. It doesn't hurt anyone and as long as they aren't being rude no harm done!
