Thanks for this. I am in a pickle here trying to replace the original delta with a danco spout model 10953 equivalent that fits delta 1” brass adaptor. All good here. Done. Thanks and thank Lowe’s for the part. Wife is gonna love me.
Great stuff! Didn't know Delta had this great interface, like you said, very forgiving. I've got 3/4 male steel pipe thread coming from wall about 1 plus inch. The then used a short M-M coupler to it, then a niple pipe length from it to spout internal, WHAT A MESS!!!!!!!!! After seeing this, I'll cut the threaded end on wall to proper length & use this. Its Delta for me. Thanks buddy!

This is perfect. I'm replacing the exact same style chrome Delta tub faucet and didn't realize there were different types of ways to attach the spout. Ordered from your link as it's exactly the replacement we need. I bought another brand from the home store and that's when I found out the spouts aren't compatible. Didn't know it was so difficult to swap out a simple part.
Yeah, that is a super common trip up when trying to swap out spouts. There are universal spouts which comes with all the different hardware to adapt to 95% of all designs but seems like the quality is usually a bit lower.

Thanks for the post, my delta tub spout is just like this with the adapter but the trim kit I purchased has a tub spout that does not fit/screw over this adapter (it's black inside not white). This trim kit you place in the links is this the white version that screws over the adapter? Reading the questions and answers on Amazon it seems like it's a slip on and not the screw on? I can't seem to find which delta spout has the screw on!
Its good that they leave a cutout notch at the bottom of the faucet base, then if there is a leak in the seal you'll see it coming out of there.
Your Amazon link is for the entire trim kit. Do you have a link for just the spout?
Gr8 vid. Question: Delta only makes the spout in Chrome finish now and the rest of my shower fixtures are brushed. You thought yours was old? I had a gold one! Wondering if I can just use some very fine steel wool or sandpaper to dull the chrome finish to give it a more brushed look?
Hey John, I don't think that approach would turn out with the desired finish. Is there a Delta design which is close to the shape/characteristics of your other shower pieces? Delta has a ton of different designs and I would think you could get a brushed spout that would match up well.
The hole in the back is so you can see it drip if it’s leaking inside. It just happens to be where they put the set screws on the set screw style.

I'm pretty sure it's called a weep hole. And some of the spout adapters have set screws in the middle of the adapter not even close to the weep hole.

Can the white piece within the spout be purchased separately? Previous spout had the adapter, the delta kit I bought does not come with that white piece that screws onto adapter
Good option if your smooth copper pipe is damaged from someone over tightening the set screw.
There is an inside o ring in that brass adapter that should be changed as well.

I’ve changed my own fixture many times; mostly when the kids have broken the faucet. This time, it’s leaking behind the wall and I don’t know why. Even while following this tutorial, it still leaks. I’m using the same adapter that came with the kit.

Replacement Spout is no where to be found. Delta Faucet RP12307 is the adapter installed on 1/2 inch copper but spout and failing diverter gasket failed no replacement found. Any ideas?

Hello! I have this same exact spout with the same attachment style - I am having a hell of a time finding a replacement that fits this attachment type but is oil rubbed bronze. Do you happen to have any leads? Any style is great as long as it has a diverter, I am desperate!

This is the Trim Kit with the Tub spout I used in this video amzn.to/3aNQI3e . I would think Lowes or Hom Depot would have a Delta Tub Spout in stock as they are so common. Worse case you can order Prime from Amazon and get it in 2 days.

@@EverydayHomeRepairs I'm not too sure, I tried to do it with pipe wrench , it just won't loose at all, So I assume it's soldered on, How can I tell if it's for sure ?
@@nuketownmayor if it just looks like a copper pipe running straight into the adapter you should see a least a little signs of grey solder coming out between the outside of the copper pipe and inside of the adapter. I would just use the old adapter and maybe swap out the rubber seal from the new adapter to the old adapter. Best of luck!
Where can I find the insert and guts of the diverter in the delta spout.
I’m trying to find a video since the inside of mine came apart . I don’t need a new one .
I looked under the faucet and don’t see a screw holding on to it so I’m trying to un screw it and I can’t get it to turn and I’m afraid of breaking the copper pipe
Hmmm, it can be tricky if you have mineral deposit buildup which is holding the spout on the adapter/pipe. Wonder if a litle heat from a heat gun would help to loosen up the deposits so you could break the spout free without causing any unwanted damage.

Hey Kevin, sorry for the confusion since I actually replaced the entire trim kit I specifically bought this amzn.to/3aNQI3e spout / trim kit. This kit I know for a fact has the adapter as seen in the video and if you want to swap the whole trim kit might be more ideal.

@@kevindeville7704 your old tub spout has the internal white plastic insert, correct? Can you remove it from the old spout and install on the new one?

Hey Kevin, yeah it should just twist off but if the spout has been on for years some times mineral deposits really make it hard to remove. Alternatively you could return the original spout (sorry for sending you down the wrong path) and get the spout with the insert.

My problem is after I removed the tub spout, the pipe still dripping water
Hmmmm, you might have a valve which is starting to reach the end of useful life and might need swapped out or possibly just the o-rings are failing. If you have a Delta or Moen the mixing valves are pretty easy to find replacements for and swap out. If you to swap out make sure you turn the water off at the main water shutoff valve.
@@EverydayHomeRepairs I used the Allen to remove and it is super tight, end up stripped the hex bolts not sure what to do

Delta = cheap shite. I am a remodeler - I have yet to encounter one of this piles of junk that don't leak or have issues.
