I grew up here. I explored Lake Powell with friends, class mates & family. From hiking, camping, fishing, swimming, boating, cookouts, celebrating birthdays, movies have been made here. Like PLANT OF the APES / POINT BREAK/ THUNDER WARRIOR/MAVERICK & MORE: CELEBRITYS COME HERE TOO! TO GET AWAY & ALWAYS RETURN TOO. BUT the Best thing about LAKE POWELL it's beauty of nature.has ALWAYS have different & new things to do,explore & many other outdoor offerings. Its an endless adventure you'll never forget!

Dang!! I sold my cabin cruiser last year because the water level was so low that I couldn't get it in anymore! I wasn't expecting such a wet winter.. I'd have kept it had I known.. I only had it a couple years.. I loved going to Lake Powell and that was the whole purpose of having the boat to begin with.. It was so peaceful putting through the narrow canyons. That boat had 2 motors/props so I could do a 0 point turn with it.
I've been in the Navy and went many places. There is only 1 Lake Powell and its the only place I really care to go boating.
    Thank you for the footage!

Greetings to you in France from Arizona. Albeit that Lake Powell borders both Arizona and Utah, if you'd like to see more of Arizona, feel free to enjoy my 2 Arizona playlists, one being a large, organized video tour, and the much smaller compilation called "Beautiful Arizona, Scenery for the Soul", in which this video is also featured. :)

This video makes me home sick. I used to live in Blanding, Utah. Lake Powell is where my friends and I would hangout in the spring and fall (Summer is too hot). Unless you go there, you can not possibly understand the immensity of this place. The vast beauty is beyond compare! it is genuinely the most beautiful and unique of any place on planet Earth. It is our Nation's greatest treasure.

We've travelled on 4 separate occasions from Canada with our ATV's to take in the beauty of Blanding, Moab and area. From our perspective, most folks are accommodating, with regard to packing out, what they pack in, albeit we saw some old old cars, that had been pushed off cliff's possibly decades ago, but all area's we saw where clean, and we where thankful for the opportunity to see some of the cliff dwellings, and the beautiful red rock. We hope folks in the future also take care in how they treat this beautiful area.

I also love the video and the lake scenes it portrays. I know there is also a group of environmentalist haters who despise anything associated with Lake Powell, which they see as a scar on the face of the earth, with Glen Canyon Dam as a monument to man's short sighted environmental disasters.

My most favorite place on earth. The last time the lake was at full pool was in 1999. It only dropped because Lake Mead was getting more than what they were supposed to every year since. Without that extra water being let out the lake would still be completely full and Lake Mead would be empty by now.

I went there in the early 80s, with friends in a camper with a 20' boat. Back then the water was beautiful deep blue, with many fingers running thru the lake, that u could literally get lost, lucky my friends have been going there with there parents for yrs, so they new the lake well. We were water skiing on glassy water in between the beautiful towering walls, its was amazing, a experience that I will never forget. Our Creator gives us a tiny glimpse of Heaven on Earth, Yosemite and Lake Powel both are a gift of a glimpse of Heaven, from are Creator!!

Sean O I have flown over and boated on Lake Powell many times. The machines are man made but I guarantee no one is looking inside and exclaiming their wonderment of the machine. The machines, like the reservoir, are but a means for us to witness the beauty. The cliffs and so on are tremendous and inspiring at every turn. Every day is different, every change of the weather brings new wondrous things.

John Ricci, I lived and worked in Page, AZ which is the town next to the dam. Even if you were on the lake for the rest of your life you would not have seen it all. That is not hogwash, that is exactly what many people have said, people who have spent years exploring the lake. The two gentlemen who wrote the book about exploring the lake said the very same thing, that in thirty years of being on the lake nearly every day they had not seen all of it. And the fishing and other activities are great. Off the lake there is offroading, hiking, hunting. There are a few bars and many restaurants with good food. And there is a good airport.

Secret Squirrel I would for sure have to agree, so much to do. Honestly Lake Powell/Glen Canyon is probably one of the lesser known locations around that area. I would bet it’s probably the highest density of National Parks in the U.S, there’s probably 7 or 8 within a half a days drive, or less. And that’s not including state parks like grand staircase, antelope, monument valley, etc... love that area, try to get down as much as possible, but I’m in Salt Lake so it’s pretty long drive.

The closest large airport is Phoenix, followed by St. George, Utah (United and Delta), and Las Vegas.

Wow have not been there for a few years but it looks like the lake is down 50 + feet. That worries me alot. Its a great place to fish and just cruise. Recommended you take a GPS with you and a extra can of fuel.

Did you rent a boat, or were you on a tour? I was actually looking for a good tour on Lake Powell. Great video.

It’s even more beautiful in person! So much to do! You can rent a boat, houseboat, jet skis etc. we rented paddle boards once and kayaks another time. The water is a pinch chilly even in summer! I’m guessing 68-72 degrees.
This place is awesome for rentals:

@@hines862009 It's amazing how much the lake fluctuates. Just got back and it is at historic lows. This summer (2021) is predicted to be one of the worst summers for the lake level. Lake is currently at 39% of capacity and most boat ramps are closed. It will go up some this springs but...🤷‍♂️

We hit this lake with a houseboat 15 years ago. The lake was filled to the top of dam back then, seeing it low like this is sad. Anyone thinking of doing it, get there soon, in a decade it might be gone or unusable.
