What I don't understand is why a lot of players these days just go through the game crazy fast. For example I've heard people beating Jedi Survivor in 15hrs and then they don't touch the game again. What is the point of going through a game really fast instead of taking the time and enjoying the game. Me it takes me weeks sometimes months to beat a game, I'm not judging or anything like I'm just wondering why people go through games so fast instead of taking the time to enjoy it and looking around and doing as much as possible in the first playthrough.
Personally put in about 36 hours on survivor recently for my 1st playthrough and 100% Coruscant ( idk if I spelled it right lol ). I agree so many people rush games. Just hit around 30 in Black Myth Wukong as well and I'm probably only about 1/2-2/3 of the way through

The problem with ratings is they are often written by jaded gamers. Not you guys as it looks like you really did a great objective look at the game. And I usually find "bad" games fun. Skull and Bones got horrible reviews, yet I found the game extremely fun and put in over 300 hours before I started burning out. Dragons Dogma 2 got great reviews yet I was bored after 12 hours. Fun is subjective and changes person to person. As for the bugs, every Ubisoft game has a rocky week 1. They quickly patch the bugs and it becomes a much better game. I'm not worried about that. Although as a PS5 player (I dont have a PC good enough to play this) the news that the PS5 version is so bad is worrisome. So what it comes down to is is it worth the Gold price. Season Pass's price still hasnt been revealed that I know of. So if the pass is 30.00 and game 70.00, Gold is worth it for a couple more cosmetics. If the SP is 20.00, Gold becomes not worth it. And if this game bombs because of all the negative nancy reviewers who hate just to hate, this game could follow Skull and Bones and drop 50% in price in the first month. Its really a leap of faith.
We appreciate all the thoughts! We wouldn’t say the PS5 version is a total disaster or anything but it does need work in terms of fidelity and textures and the occasional performance issues. Great review, the SW community will love this in the most part. Lifes too short to be hyper critical, people expecting super realism or gta style game is abit silly.
I got to play some of this game today! It’s REALLY FUN, I’m LOVING it so far! Haven’t even got to play in space yet, and I’m ALREADY loving it! The stealth mission where you first meet the Pyke’s was annoying, though. But I know it’s the first of many stealth missions.
Thank you for this in depth review. I am a Star Wars fan and pre-ordered the Gold Edition on PS5 and I know the issues you mentioned will get fixed, this too big of a game to let it suffer!
Thank you guys so much for this video! I am about 3 review videos down and this is about what I expected. I hope with the PC release it will look better and run better but besides that from what I have seen and heard from Star Wars fans I think this will be a fun and authentic Star Wars experience!I do hope massive will fix just a few of the bugs and I think if they do this game will be a great 8.2/10 game for Star Wars fans for a long time! (For reference I think the current state of Star Wars Jedi Survivor is about a 8.7/10 and that I add about +1 for the IP same thing with Hogwarts legacy it's about an 8.2 game but add 1 for the IP)
I’ve been waiting for this game forever! Been watching all your content and I appreciate what you guys have done here with this video and answer many of the questions I still had unanswered. I cannot wait to jump into the game and I can only hope like the rest of us that the updates that are needed come soon. But with that said I already preordered and downloaded it so now I just need to call out of work 😂
I don't like that you can't lock into cover while sneaking. Maybe I just have to get used to it, but I kept getting caught because Kay's head or butt was hanging out of cover and I didn't notice. On another point, I love RDR1 and 2, but this game has way cooler outlaw mechanics in it. fixing races, pickpocketing, bluffing and bribing, etc. the first time I found a "horse" race slate in the Pyke compound and fixed a race was a cool experience.
Everyone else has loved becoming part of a specific faction and I am enjoying becoming one specific leader’s nemesis. I won’t rest until I’m Gorak’s entire world. He did nothing to me I just like it.
Great vid guys! It sounds like there is a lot to improve but luckily it will get future updates and i will be happy to play this multiple times because of it.
Nice review guys. I have couple questions. 1.) So how many open world planets are there to explore in the game and how big are those planet areas? How long does it take to go around the entire planet? 2.) How replayable is the game? Does one tend to start over and try it for a different syndicate or is it not that different?
@@ColtMcMoney I’ve been loving it. It’s very immersive with the target audience being the first season of Rebels in my opinion. So if you enjoyed Star Wars Rebels it’s kind of got that vibe more or less and you can just exist in the world. Also the levels are very well designed. Lots of verticality and that crazy Star Wars ominous machinery.
I love the escapism of getting lost in the Star Wars open world and this game did it well. Only issues I ran into is lighting issues in some areas and AI issues. Other than that, I enjoy it.
Do u think the game will change for the better further down the line as in more open world gameplay options? Such as adding cantobyte to the open world and other quality of life updates or do u think that all of that is set in stone?
@@butteredbutters that’s exactly what I was thinking. Out of all the worlds for me I was most excited abt space Monte Carlo. I felt the sabac games would’ve been insane and all the degeneracy and the live horse races. Big missed opportunity imo. Would’ve been perfect for this game

I just found your channel and I have to say, I absolutely love the way you guys did this review. Obviously I dont know if this is what you normally do, lol, but you earned a sub from me. I'll be playing tonight at 11pm 😊
28:28: I think this is a bad example/comparison. Yeah, you can't upgrade or customize the Mantis in Survivor, but the Mantis is also an extremely nebulous part of that game that features no gameplay associated with it compared to Outlaws where the ship serves a much bigger gameplay purpose. I can't remember anyone saying they wanted more Mantis customization after Fallen Order. Ship customization in Survivor would've been about as forgettable as Fallen Order's without actual Mantis gameplay which is why the sequel chose to do away with it. Decent vid overall though.
Their vision of this game was entirely too narrow. This game should have allowed us to create our own scoundrel where we could create our character as a human or alien species. Kay could have been the lead NPC much like Scully was to Drake in the Uncharted games and she has us join her to do these missions and heists along with a crew of 3 other NPCs of various species. It is a restricted open world game that is pretty straightforward in it's storytelling. It looks like the Fallen Jedi games without lightsabers and more areas to traverse and travel, and it should be more. There should have been crew management on the ship and a few more things to do in space. We should have some level of squad control where we could bring an NPC with us on missions. Watching the video has me disappointed in the game.
I appreciate the honest review. I'm also a huge SW fans. I'll wait for a while before I get this.....With Wu Kong and Space Marines 2 coming next month, I'll be busy playing those two for a while. I may just forget about it....We'll see....UBIsoft is under much heat.
I’ve been playing it and really enjoy it. Captures the original movies with Rebels series vibes. So far it is very much an adventure stealth game. Music and sound design is awesome. No crashes after playing 8 hours?
Thx for this vid seeing the upgrade system makes me think they could made this a mado open world game imagine sending grogu to distract or help the player
Great review honestly a lot of it could be addressed in a day one patch or subsequent patches. One thing which is a massive shame is that it's not likely going to be Modabble. Like cyberpunk 2077 and witcher 3. They did a lot of things right but some decisions they made I wished they did differently. Ie Character customisation and playing as a male. Also NPC faces are a let down. Still interested to see how it goes. Also I didn't play it on my high end gaming pc either. Played on a semi decent laptop. Also please do a pc Review
Thank you so much for your views and honest opinions. It the fan review I was personally looking for as a big Star Wars fan. I feel confident in my purchase and that I will enjoy the game from you review points.

Theyxwill improve performance due to these reviews. Ill def play in quality mode though as 40 fps is fine. But never worth it at 30 fps. Great review. Ne sub earned
Biggest issue I’ve seen is the speeder bike combat is very clunky, especially when you collide with other NPCs. The physics mess up a lot. But hopefully that’s a minor issue compared to the rest of the game
I've come to accept I have unrealistic expectations. When I hear "open world star wars" I wanna be able to ride off into the desert and go in that direction for hours. Maybe stumble across a tusken camp, maybe my blaster goes off and I accidentally killed them all, maybe run across some jawas and maybe they wanna buy some tusken raider gear that I just so happen to have found. This game does look fun, I'll just wait till it's on sale
Currently trying to play it on a 4090 rig, and I've enjoyed the moments I've played in between the multiple crashes to desktop I'm experiencing, it's really frustrating as I troubleshoot the problem instead of playing it. Having said that, graphics and performance when I got some minutes has been good so far except for the animations of Kays hair, it looks really average and stuttering on PC. But I'd agree with what's said here, it's not gonna win awards but I don't feel like it deserves the backlash and hate it's getting out there, crashes aside lol.
I’m going to guess visual smudging and audio issues were because of your pre launch copy? And if you only had 30 and 60fps choices that you didn’t use a 120hz VRR display? I chose XSX just because Ubisoft+ does not offer Outlaws on PS5 but on XSX 30fps is rock solid and thanks to VRR the 40 and 60 fps modes are perfectly smooth but Xbox has VRR from 40hz while PS5 can only use VRR from 48hz so if the framerate drops below 48 on PS5 it will stutter. So 60fps/60hz and 40fps/120hz are both butter smooth on XSX and I’ve chosen 40 for the big jump in quality and huge jump in render distance. Apart from the human and Twilek faces and the fact that everyone in the entire galaxy wears dumpy tracksuits, I love this game and I agree Kay is an excellent and very appealing protagonist. She’s career oriented but BS free and doesn’t give up. If you’re not “over” Ubisoft or open world games then this may have some old-school creaky bits but it’s a BEAUTIFUL game. So immersive and SO gorgeous. When I’m not playing I sometimes think about it and I’m excited to play again.
It kind of feels like Star Wars outlaws is paying homage to the cancelled Star Wars 1313, you can kind of see that in some of the blaster fights, you take part in. Based on the gameplay and what I’ve seen, I’d probably rate this game at around 6.5/10 maybe 7/10 .
@@AlpacaKingvtube Still, for a price that is extremely expensive 40 hrs is too short. Baldur's Gate 3 has more content for a much lesser price than this one.
@@damageseeker also is a completely different style of game. It looks and plays completely different. People literally complained about how Valhalla took to long and was to bloated and now y'all complain this is to short .... Don't just sit down and play for 20hrs straight and you'll be fine
95% of the footage in this video is in quality mode, and you can see for yourself, there are still significant issues with fidelity, textures, and artifacting, particularly in open environments with bodies of water.
@@LunarSquadron thanks for the info!! Well, i got a ps portal, i think i dont mind that when playing in handheld mode haha. But man, im in such a doubt. Will i go for the PC version, of ps5, i mean, i love to play on the couch and use my ps portal, but the pc graphics are so Nice!

Im gonna wait for a graphics patch or the game to go on sale. In 2024 on a ps5...this is not how I want a game to look. Jedi Survivor suffered some of the same issues.
The performance issues kinda killed this game for me. Ill wait if they drop a patch but it's a skip until then. That or when i bite the bullet and just upgrade my pc
7/10 doesn't necessarily jump off the screen as being good but Open world action games and Star Wars are relevant to my interests. I'm likely going to go against my better judgement and pick this up day one with the perhaps foolish (but not unfounded) expectation that there will be some options to help mitigate the more annoying aspects I been hearing about
What I heard was be happy if you’re a PC gamer with a decent rig. Consoles just don’t have the horsepower to give you a great experience, you are stuck with compromises. Even though you still have a decent game aside from that. Sounds better than Starfield though that’s for sure lol.
I am playing it and I don’t see how they did that. Did they not even do a single upgrade? I’ve played about 8 hours and event haven’t gotten to through the empire base that was shown. Just started it. I only grabbed a few side missions. Now I don’t fast travel much. I enjoy the traversal of the speeder. It feels really good. Easily see at a minimum 80 hours for me. Game world is awesome. The details and feel. A sort of blend of first movies, Andor and Rebels rolled into one.
The time you need for a game is always subjective. Reviewers rush through games, mostly I hear its an 20 to 25 hours story, which is totally fine. I dont want to have another 60h main story like AC valhalla. Better short and nice than long and bad. Also with all the side content I am sure to get to 50h. Have fun, thats what counts!

Great review as always.
Thank you for this in depth review. I am a Star Wars fan and pre-ordered the Gold Edition on PS5 and I know the issues you mentioned will get fixed, this too big of a game to let it suffer!
Tempted to piss off the Hutt Cartel in a bad way, see what bounty hunters they send after me.
@@Sillowette_ Ubisoft Plus tonight, fingers crossed. 🤞
AND MODS 🎉
TLDR: It's a 7/10 that fans of Star Wars can find much so more value than the score would lead you to believe.
I don't get it
Yeah but this main character doesn’t inspire me to play this at all…
@@HereComesTheDay That's why I put CAN, not WILL. I, for one, look forward to sacrificing sleep so I can fit this into my already busy schedule.
@@HereComesTheDaywhy so delicate about who you play as?
@@jackmerry632 i have preferences plain and simple. Who plays Star Wars to be a weak average Karen?
Are they going to add content in the future? Any plans to add more to the places that aren’t fully fleshed out?
Favorite story mission? And Favorite side mission?
thanks for the detailed review!
Awesome review and was pleasure to listen. Think I'll stick around a bit, subscribed.
Appreciate the kind words. Glad it was helpful and welcome!
Most detailed review I’ve seen on the game, good work. Subscribed
So glad you enjoyed! Welcome to the channel!
I’ve been waiting for this game forever! Been watching all your content and I appreciate what you guys have done here with this video and answer many of the questions I still had unanswered. I cannot wait to jump into the game and I can only hope like the rest of us that the updates that are needed come soon. But with that said I already preordered and downloaded it so now I just need to call out of work 😂
Cool review, thanks guys! I was looking for a detailed PS5 video
Glad it was helpful!
@@LunarSquadron it's awesome! Thanks for the hard work, keep it up! 😊
Me I want to see the ps5 I plan to get it this Sunday or Monday I ran out of money 😢
This felt genuine and honest. Thank you!
Appreciate it! Hope it was helpful!
A 7/10 ain’t worth $70+
Nice review guys. I have couple questions.
1.) So how many open world planets are there to explore in the game and how big are those planet areas? How long does it take to go around the entire planet?
2.) How replayable is the game? Does one tend to start over and try it for a different syndicate or is it not that different?
This is the review I was looking for, I was hoping Star Wars fans would be immersed and it seems like they will be.
This is the review you’re looking for!
Thanks for the review guys… couldn’t help but throw a Star Wars reference in 😁^
Finally a fair review instead of the hate that's going on around right now.
Many good things in this game. Love the worldbuilding and how the abilities are implemented. 😊
Do u think the game will change for the better further down the line as in more open world gameplay options? Such as adding cantobyte to the open world and other quality of life updates or do u think that all of that is set in stone?
I wanna say I doubt it, my gut says they won’t.
But, perhaps due to the feedback of Cantonica for example, maybe they’ll add it in a future update!
We really hope they add to it because there really can be something special here if they choose to pursue it.
@@LunarSquadron I agree!
Not to mention, it's practically space Monte Carlo, so it'd be ideal for gambling and shady dealings.
@@skiffle2087 Indeed, here's to hoping!
I got the Standard edition, will probably get the season pass whenever it comes out separately, wanna get it as cheap as I can get lol.
I figured it would be an alright game and this kinda cemented my expectations. I’m picking it up after work today and am pretty excited to try it myself
Great review guys. I feel the confliction, but feel it was perfectly addressed. I want to get lost in the environments. Hopefully some or most bugs will be taken care of within patches. Massive will get it squared away!
Really like your review. So many I watched today were so negative. Can't wait to see for myself tomorrow.
Happy you enjoyed the review!
I just found your channel and I have to say, I absolutely love the way you guys did this review. Obviously I dont know if this is what you normally do, lol, but you earned a sub from me. I'll be playing tonight at 11pm 😊
And yet another reason to purchase the PS5 PRO!
This was a very thorough review. Thank you for this ! 🙏🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Sick video guys. Very well done
Glad you enjoyed it
720p Native for consoles in 2024 is criminal. Yeah it’s a big game but the resolution is still upsetting.
Who Said It was 720p?
I’ve been playing it and really enjoy it. Captures the original movies with Rebels series vibes. So far it is very much an adventure stealth game. Music and sound design is awesome. No crashes after playing 8 hours?
How many hours including side content?
15 hours for the story mission
I am looking forward to the game! Ty for the PS5 review!
Id like a Star Wars game with the Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor/War mixed with this Reputation system.
Thx for this vid seeing the upgrade system makes me think they could made this a mado open world game imagine sending grogu to distract or help the player
so final game will be done in spring 2025 :)
Good enough I'm getting this
Now this is good content
I have Ultimate edition on PS5 but I’m not at home for a week RIP. Are they gonna have to patch console versions?
Wonder how long the "optimizing game files" loading screen is gunna take this time....
The shooting reminded me of SW battle front .Would you say its like an open world Batlle front ?
@@Tdrums8 looks nothing like it
AAA,games,..bugs bugs,bugs,...scam,..it's beyond a joke
I was wondering since the gold edition is out today with 3 day early access but isn't technically out till the 30th if buy it will I still get the pre order pack any help is appreciated
Nice to hear a game finally delivered an impactful reputation system. So many advertised. So many undelivered
love the game review thanx so much for it to bad for the graphics but the rest of the game looks so awesome ill just wait till the 3oth of august
Nice fair review. Confirms my stance to not preorder games. Still looking forward to play this after some patches come out.
I just bought a graphics card, and a key for this game will come for free with it. I can't wait to play it, it looks great!
Theyxwill improve performance due to these reviews. Ill def play in quality mode though as 40 fps is fine. But never worth it at 30 fps. Great review. Ne sub earned
Thanks for watching! Hope the review was helpful!
@LunarSquadron it def made me feel better about pre ordering haha. But def not getting the 3 day early access. Not worth it
Biggest issue I’ve seen is the speeder bike combat is very clunky, especially when you collide with other NPCs.
Got any opinions on adaptive triggers, haptics, and the 3d soundscapes?
Debating between the ps5 or xbox version.
Overall great and through review 👏
A 15 hour game? That is way too short. Especially with the pricing they had
Literally said that it would take them 40hrs to complete....
@@AlpacaKingvtube they literally said that the main game is 15 hours. You literally n can play almost any RPG for an unlimited amount of time
@@Bigred7642 not an RPG.... It is a character story driven game ....
was there motion blur, film grain options to turn off..did that make a difference?
Yes, turning those off helped slightly in some areas, but did not impact or change the resolution issues we had on Toshara and Akiva
@@LunarSquadrondoes the resolution change also in quality mode?
95% of the footage in this video is in quality mode, and you can see for yourself, there are still significant issues with fidelity, textures, and artifacting, particularly in open environments with bodies of water.
@@LunarSquadron thanks for the info!!
Well, i got a ps portal, i think i dont mind that when playing in handheld mode haha. But man, im in such a doubt. Will i go for the PC version, of ps5, i mean, i love to play on the couch and use my ps portal, but the pc graphics are so Nice!
Yo, this looks siiiick! I'm not gonna watch, though!😂😂
I know it's spoiler free, but I want to experience everything for the first time once I get the game on Friday!!
And oh yeah.....2nd!
Does anyone know when will it come to steam ?
After the main story can you carry on playing in open world do what you want?
Yes you can!
@@LunarSquadron nice mind I play open world games different I just fo off and do my own thing was level 400 on for76 before started the main story
@@LunarSquadron also lvl 150 now in starfield and not started main story
THE AMOUNT OF UPWARD INFLECTION IS GIVING ME A HEADACHE
Im gonna wait for a graphics patch or the game to go on sale. In 2024 on a ps5...this is not how I want a game to look. Jedi Survivor suffered some of the same issues.
The performance issues kinda killed this game for me. Ill wait if they drop a patch but it's a skip until then. That or when i bite the bullet and just upgrade my pc
7/10 doesn't necessarily jump off the screen as being good but Open world action games and Star Wars are relevant to my interests.
I'm likely going to go against my better judgement and pick this up day one with the perhaps foolish (but not unfounded) expectation that there will be some options to help mitigate the more annoying aspects I been hearing about
Considering the issues with graphics and performance, I might play it on PC. At least there I can use DLSS instead of FSR.
What I heard was be happy if you’re a PC gamer with a decent rig. Consoles just don’t have the horsepower to give you a great experience, you are stuck with compromises. Even though you still have a decent game aside from that.
Sounds better than Starfield though that’s for sure lol.
Just 15 hours for the main story? 😟
It's a fun game or not like it or hate it. It's a standard game no need to buy gold or ultimate edition.
Dear God dudes what the hell do you want as far as game graphics? Good God just started playin this morning the 27th I would put the 😊game picture quality on par with horizon new dawn or avatar some of you people you just can’t make happy no matter what they do you say the graphics quality was better on some kind of super computer you were playin on but for the regular folks out here that just love to play the graphics are more than wonderful . Star Wars outlaw is a great game that hopefully millions will get to play thanks to Ubisoft and massive it’s a wonderful game that brings you back to the real Star Wars of the 70s and you truly feel as if your immersed in the game I personally love it and all people older and young I think you’ll really love the game especially nix he’s just a cool 😎 little dude and you’ll wish you had a nix for real in life 😂🤣💯. Great game great product I’ve got to go now back to the game take care good people God bless.
I believe you should re-do this video with PS5 PRO now.. And then I'll decide if I should get it or not! Thanks.
Star Wars HQ UA-cam channel said the complete opposite about the graphics. There's also a third Graphics option, it looks like you guys never used it
We never had a third graphics option in our build of the game so that is really weird.
@@LunarSquadron if it helps, he has a review up that specifically covers ONLY the graphics of the game (PS5). You might want to check it out to compare the discrepancy.
Played on PC graphics are trash
Ubisoft should try to copy Elden Ring like they did with Witcher 3. Even if the games turn out to be sloppy soulslikes, you can atleast get some enjoyment out of them.
they had so long to optimize 😭
Thanks for the review framerate was a big ? For me so i think ill go fidelity outside performance in citites😂
