Same here, crouch should be an option with boxes etc. cover items to get behind while standing. Up against a wall on corners with a simple peek mechanic ike the old Rainbow six and Splinter cell games. Yeah it's a game, but only a droid's knees could take that kind of immersion breaking punishment. And even they would need to oil those joints and replace worn parts once in a while. 😑

How can ANYBODY be fond of auto-fail stealth mechanics? It's the laziest of game design as they couldnt think of a way for the game and player to react to failure. That's absolutely putrid design and comes with zero risk.

It baffles me that with the amount of stealth missions, they could've made a Splinter Cell styled Star Wars game where you play as a Bothan Spy if they are too afraid to let you play as a Clone or Stormtrooper. It would also be a great way to showcase the strength of the Bothan species and explain where they were during the events of Return of the Jedi. Also the protagonist having an animal companion is the most Disney Channel thing I've seen that it comes across as cheesy.

I have no clue why Ubi was so eager to release the game so shortly after the Acolyte while it still needed some polish. If they just took their time to iron out the worst bugs and to enhance some of the gameplay elements it could have been a nice game still. I don't see a trash game here, but a trash game state at release. Maybe it's fine in six months or so.

@SolidSnake240 my understanding is it was a different team that made Avatar, but the main team that made Outlaws. That's why I'm concerned. Then again, it's all Ubisoft, so we should be more concerned they may just cancel it like Heartland, especially if Outlaws and AC:Shadows don't meet their financial targets and Ubisoft and starts cutting budgets.
It wouldve been nice if the factions were actually something that affects the game overall, kinda reminds me of starfield with their loyalty system not really being much. Wish we could have New Vegas style storytelling where you can fuck over one faction or every faction depending upon your choices and standing, but thats a completely separate game from this for sure
The worst story non-sense of this game is how your character gets tricked into doing a job for the Rebel Alliance by stealing from Leero, and not only did they not pay you anything, but instead knocked you out so that Leero can find you, nearly kill you and put a bounty on your head. Now tell me who would you hate more in this scenario, Leero or the non-binary alliance that left you for dead. But nooo, we cant hate the woke alliance that set you up, we have to fight authority together against the 'Empire'. We are outlaws and traitors but we are good guys, since we're rebels... If this is Outlaws, why do we have to work for the Rebels, cant we betray them, i would, given the protagonist's circumstance. Why can we only steal from cops or stormtroopers, what if we want to steal from anyone else, why cant we kill animals, why cant we shoot bounty hunters while riding a speeder, is this what a soy criminal looks like? P.S. i die every time she knocks out stormtroopers by punching their helmets, are they made from styrofoam? The world, art, and atmosphere fooled me at first into thinking this was a decent game. I kept thinking reviewers were too harsh and following the hate-band wagon. Boy oh boy, keep playing and you'll see the issues. A stealth game where you get hardly any tools to play with, stale stealth, immersion breaking "takedowns", no weapons to switch to freely, my goodness, they took the most boring approach to both stealth and gunplay, which is... the game play of the video game. I actually like the graphics, world design is 10/10, story is Disney-like (nothing great, turn off your brain and you'll enjoy the ride), gameplay 0/10. Don't buy, don't wait for sale, donate to charity instead if this game is ever $10 on sale.

It baffles me that with the amount of stealth missions, they could've made a Splinter Cell styled Star Wars game where you play as a Bothan Spy if they are too afraid to let you play as a Clone or Stormtrooper. It would also be a great way to showcase the strength of the Bothan species and explain where they were during the events of Return of the Jedi. Also the protagonist having an animal companion is the most Disney Channel thing I've seen that it comes across as cheesy.

If a game is awful to play, it's not a 7/10. Ever. There are games that have a terrible setting and bad graphics but addictive, fun gameplay that are 8-9/10, but games that are mediocre, boring slogs with terrible design decisions should never be higher than a 5.

I have no clue why Ubi was so eager to release the game so shortly after the Acolyte while it still needed some polish. If they just took their time to iron out the worst bugs and to enhance some of the gameplay elements it could have been a nice game still. I don't see a trash game here, but a trash game state at release. Maybe it's fine in six months or so.
That's the problem with big companies like Ubisoft. They have no excuse to release a "triple A game" that feels like an indie game.

Then again, it's all Ubisoft, so we should be more concerned they may just cancel it like Heartland, especially if Outlaws and AC:Shadows don't meet their financial targets and Ubisoft and starts cutting budgets.
It wouldve been nice if the factions were actually something that affects the game overall, kinda reminds me of starfield with their loyalty system not really being much. Wish we could have New Vegas style storytelling where you can fuck over one faction or every faction depending upon your choices and standing, but thats a completely separate game from this for sure
The worst story non-sense of this game is how your character gets tricked into doing a job for the Rebel Alliance by stealing from Leero, and not only did they not pay you anything, but instead knocked you out so that Leero can find you, nearly kill you and put a bounty on your head. Now tell me who would you hate more in this scenario, Leero or the non-binary alliance that left you for dead. But nooo, we cant hate the woke alliance that set you up, we have to fight authority together against the 'Empire'. We are outlaws and traitors but we are good guys, since we're rebels...
If this is Outlaws, why do we have to work for the Rebels, cant we betray them, i would, given the protagonist's circumstance. Why can we only steal from cops or stormtroopers, what if we want to steal from anyone else, why cant we kill animals, why cant we shoot bounty hunters while riding a speeder, is this what a soy criminal looks like?
P.S. i die every time she knocks out stormtroopers by punching their helmets, are they made from styrofoam? XD

Unfortunately game companies have lost most of their good people, and are getting funded by governments & associations to promote an agenda. They don’t care about giving us the best form of entertainment and escapism anymore. It really sucks. I hope there is a glimmer of hope for the future, but honestly there isn’t.

Star Wars in general is a tough sell for me, but I can’t imagine this was what hardcore fans were thinking about in the first SW open world game. Jedis, sparking lightsabers, and force abilities are what they want. Oh, cute. A blaster.

The world, art, and atmosphere fooled me at first into thinking this was a decent game. I kept thinking reviewers were too harsh and following the hate-band wagon. Boy oh boy, keep playing and you'll see the issues. A stealth game where you get hardly any tools to play with, stale stealth, immersion breaking "takedowns", no weapons to switch to freely, my goodness, they took the most boring approach to both stealth and gunplay, which is... the game play of the video game. I actually like the graphics, world design is 10/10, story is Disney-like (nothing great, turn off your brain and you'll enjoy the ride), gameplay 0/10. Don't buy, don't wait for sale, donate to charity instead if this game is ever $10 on sale.
