When I was in college, the school wanted to make a fun hangout club, bar area, but because of rules around having an place that serves/sells alcohol they couldn't get a real license so whenever they had events there they served the booze for free to skirt the rules. They didn't do much with it after the first year though since I assume it's really expensive to hand out free drinks to college students.
8:50 Man, do I feel this. Also, I am a very short person (154cm) and I LOATHE restaurants that have those tall stools for seating. It's like, "Welp, can't eat there."

London Property Prices, I recently watched an episode of Grand Designs, a couple bought a garage somewhere in Greater London, to turn it into a house, it costed them £250,000, in most of the country you could buy a very good house for that.
Sometimes I think about that conspiracy theory about how the Titanic was swapped with a sister ship as part of an insurance scam and then realize how ridiculous that is because of how many people were involved and no one spilled the beans... Then we get stories like this where nobody who lived on that street, and not one of his friends or paid participants spilled the beans beforehand...
I remember hearing about this/watching the UA-cam video documenting the "Shed"... lmfao! It was hilarious, pretty sure they actually opened to the public once or twice, and just ordered out for random food, and threw some random stuff together and actually served people.

We are Simon.
A shed is very much a place you can live I've been living in one for the last 4 years
So I live just near Dulwich, a room is at least £1400 a month, a shed for £800 is reasonable and Dulwich us a seriously swanky area
And oh yes, Dulwich and Bromley are the exact right places for this 😂
Wow, my jaw hit the desk, then the floor, now it's in the basement or something. Everyone involved is just amazing. Ending with "Awards Show Ooblah...", ah just perfect. What a legend, send him a t-shirt.
Fun fact: most good reviews for businesses are written and posted by one of the advertising executives they buy advertising from. And they also get their crack team of friends to do same. Which honestly if your account exec isn’t doing this they prob don’t see you as worth much of their time. Yeah I used to do this as an exec with Cumulus. The Dark Side days… lol…
Hello fellow former review writer. Weirdest job I ever had, lol. That and writing blog posts SEO for pest control, lol.
Got an offer for one of these cuz I tend to give a lot of positive reviews. I think they thought I was one of you guys(types). I thought it was a scam at first heh.
I mean define scam? Lol…
@@Caleb1874ya Job offer to get your more personal information "info' we need so you can get paid"... ONLY then they run up a fat debt and stick you with arguing about it while they skip out... or worse.
Before there was Paypal and some line of defense, online banking was done with legitimate banking numbers and credentials... SO a "scam" job offer could even get into YOUR actual accounts or credit cards... AND the next thing you knew, you were financially screwed and scrambling for damage control, because the "outside normie world" was so far behind the technology... ;o)
Honestly, best story ever. I laughed at Simons delivery of the story.
OooOoOoo, Simon insists on a back to his chair. Look who's fancy.
What an absolutely WILD story, thanks so much for presenting it in such an enjoyable way!
I have watched the video on vice and I m aware of the story. But somehow it being narrated reveals how funny and crazy the whole story is😂😂😂
Oobah is exactly like Moriarty if Moriarty just liked pranking people rather than being a master criminal.
Oh I remember blonde guy bc he would always film himself usually with a how far could he go challenge at Fashion Week, Oscar parties, etc… I think he made up a designer Jean company just selling jeans a knock off jeans booth guy had made. Like in all honesty he Owns some very famous events and people.
Or carrying fish suspiciously around parliament.
What a great prank. Dude is a legend for sure. You should have sent him an Alegendly shirt for his fine work. If ever there was something Alegendly, it is a made up restaurant being so sought after. Allegedly.
This is one of the funniest tales I've ever heard.
Genuinely laugh out loud funny 🤣
My favorite of all of your posts I have ever seen. Legends are few and far between.
This is my favorite UA-cam channel. Just thought you should now. Carry on.
Yes, there are a few Taco Bell restaurants in London England.
I'd watch Simon Whistler Gaming channel, MAKE IT HAPPEN
Simon's complaining about restaurants that only serve craft soda is peak first world problems makes me feel better about my own complaining about ridiculous things
Same I'm doing that at work with safety issues. Feels like banging my head against a wall or being a Karen... He does make me feel better about whining about 1st world white guy probs...
Mission Hill was awesome!
The Big Ass Viacom Lawsuit (Andy vs. The Real World) is one of the greatest episodes of any TV show ever. I love that the plan for the show was to have Andy became Matt Groening over the course of multiple seasons
Greatest tale ever! That was brilliant!
You have covered this briefly before Simon! I remember and you're pretty much the only person I watch on UA-cam that would cover stuff like this... Maybe a mention in one of your early business blazes?
OMG I agree with one of Simon's rants! And it was about... diet cola. Huh. Well, here we are. 🤣🤣
I liked it the moment Simon said "Like it even if you still don't know if you gonna like it... "
Coz guess what... We all like the way Simon explains stuff...
Reminds me of the UK comedian who 1. Successfully ran a takeaway out of a Skip through Uber eats UK and 2. Listed a Wendy House as an AirBNB and successfully rented it out!
I agree with the sponsor. War Thunder is super fun. I want to add that you can play it on PC too. I am unsure about Mac or Linux.
Definitely recommend checking out other things Oobah has done, he also faked his way into fashion week. Not sure what he's up to now. He's kinda gone silent, but he's such a fucking legend
I’m from Australia and heard all about this when the news broke. Absolute gold
Forget working for Vice, it sounds like Oobah should be running his *own* magazine, or tv network, or something!
Points to Kevin - the subject should totally get an AlLegendary tee for sheer balls out epicness
OMG, KEVIN, I WAS LOOKING FOR THAT CARTOON SINCE I WAS 9 AND SAW HALF OF ONE RANDOM EPISODE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! AHHHHH! SO HAPPY!!!!!
@12:40 or so, Simon... Sounds like you could use a Steam Deck. As low as $400usd. Not sure if they're shipping in your area though
You will absolutely love the little sleep button. Tap and it goes into a hibernate mode of sorts, tap again and resume what you were doing exactly how it was.
