The N100 gives you an incredible amount of bang for your buck. I play PS3 games on a 129$ N100 box with very few issues. Replacing the mechanical drive with an SSD along with replacing that SoDimm with a 16 GB module, you'll be fine.

From Android to PC is already a great step up. More emulators and better overal power think of N64. At this point N100 is a great cheap chip to play otherwise look into AMD Ryzen.
I bought the grey box and its already playing up. Often hangs on the black bootup screen with the booting linux message at the top. I have to power down multiple times to get it to come back on and work. Is there something j can do to sort this or is that just consoles from china?
this is a coincidence again for me...Wicked and me have found these thin ITX motherboards...except he gets plastic printed cases...i bought a metal AliExpress thin unbranded ITX case for mine...the motherboard has the same I/O ports as his but a socket 1155 instead with brand name Wibtek...same shape as the grey one...i had to buy a very low profile heatsink and cooler and lid only just closes...by a mm...the I/O shield is a special narrow one...they call it half size in China...but it's like 70% a third smaller...i was looking at those Atom motherboards the other day...but i'll stick with H61 more choice of processors...i'm not sure you can swap Atom processors...they're typically BGA soldered as far as i know...but exactly the same form factor as Wibtek...both use Laptop RAM...and powered by Laptop power supplies...
wow...cost of the grey one is about 147 pounds...around 160 dollars...maybe more with tax and shipping...makes my mix n match setup look like a bargain...my board was about £27...case was about £25 i think...I/O shield £7...low profile heatsink and fan about £16...RAM £6...processor i bought a bunch to choose from...i5/i5/i3/G550/ another Celeron (G3450?) i got free...another i3 (2200) i got free...i spent less than a 100 dollars (if you count 1 processor £5)...Laptop power supply i already have a couple...even with 6 processors to choose it's still less than 150 dollars...and mine's more powerful...i already had the SSD i installed...only just finished it...haven't even put Batocera on it yet...but those plug and play emulation boxes are ready to go...no installation needed...mine's DIY which is half the fun isn't it...putting it together...anyway...Merry Christmas all

I find that hard to believe. Unless you're playing 2d ps3 games. N100 is too weak, in fact it's rated a D by rpcs3 for compatibility with emulation
