This practice is all about connecting with the endocrine system and bringing balance.

In today's 70 minute Yin Yoga practice we are focusing on bringing balance to your endocrine system - the system that handles all of your hormones! Your endocrine system, located throughout your body, is comprised of many glands producing much needed hormones that regulate your growth, sleep, circulation, energy levels, temperature and SO much more. These glands include the pituitary, pineal, thyroid, parathyroid, spleen, pancreas, adrenals and reproductive organs. Long term stress or illness can lead to imbalances in these glands/organs and in turn lead to excess or insufficient hormone releases that can affect your entire body in a million different ways. Bringing these into balance and keeping them there is our goal today!
The best ways to balance hormones is to practice pranayama (breath regulation), meditation and slow, mindful movement. That is EXACTLY what we are going to do in this practice. Join me!

I love this class so much, this is my second time doing it. You are so educational with your explanations of the different organs and how poses effect them. The poses are expertly sequenced leaving me feeling energized yet peaceful in a deep way only halfway thru the class. By the time the class ends I feel a total body and spirit rejuvenation. Great practice I have struggled with adrenal fatigue all of my 37 years. My first episode was when I was around 11 in the heat of summer I felt faint after riding my bike on a long bike ridein my hometown on Long Island. Luckily we rode to a store when this happened and I was able to buy something to snack on n drink. The worst episode was when I was 13 and in the heat of Colorado I felt faint and actually fainted n blacked out for a time period until I was able to get some ice to regulate my temperature. My most recent episode was this past August in the heat of South Carolina in a church with no air I felt fatigued and fainted to the ground I had family holding me up n I didn't lose consciousness. Again ice was used to regulate my temperature. This has happened many times in between but I'm able to recognize the symptoms and get to a place to sit and regulate my temperature with a drink or more often a piece of fruit. One time this happened I was working at an....

WAUW! Yesterday I followed the practices for 44 mins. After that I felt fuzzy in a good way. Even though it became late that night, I slept quite good and I don't feel tired/drained today. This is really something I cannot remember I felt that good! Will do the rest of the practise today.

Thank you - that is so sweet! I am happy you have joined me online and thank you for sharing this practice with me. I had some requests in the fall for tutorials for working with knee issues and below are 2 videos with suggestions on knee modifications for common knee issues. While I do offer some modifications and suggestions for knees, back problems are so varied it would be difficult to make suggestions that would fit everyone. I always suggest having many props around (towels: hand towels, beach towels, extra pillows and blocks) to give yourself the propping you might need to relieve these areas - both knees and back. Please use whatever you need to find more comfort in the poses and possibly reduce the depth of your pose to keep these areas safe. Shorter Yin practices might be better for a bit until you know what props to use to give you the support you might need. I have also been uploading some Beginner Yin practices that include LOTS of prop suggestions so maybe try these out? I am attaching a link for these as well.
