I am cross shopping Mustang's and Camaro's right now. Your video really confirmed my observations of it is a choice or feeling which car you purchase based on your personal preference. The cars are more similar than different. GT500 at $20k over stick will never happen with me just like the new C8 so that is out (I still don't get paying 911 money for cars that are over priced.) I thought I would look at a MACH 1 but I priced one out at $60K on the website which I think is $5k to much. If a dealer plays the "It is new so here is a market adjustment over $60k" game with the MACH 1 then it is going to be squarely in ZL1 price territory and I would buy that over the Ford all day. Same money 650 horses vs 480? Advantage Camaro. GM should offer the ZL1 with the SS interior. The alcantara in the ZL1 is the only thing I don't like. Ford should have given the MACH 1 550 horses like the GT 350. Then I could justify the MSRP. My two cents
I agree. I think the Mach 1 needs at least 40-60hp over the standard Mustang GT to justify the price difference. I’m also shocked that anyone is paying over $40,000 for a basic muscle car these days. Once this bubble pops we are going to see these cars plummet in value in the used market.
Stick the gt engine in the camero and id buy it fs. I feel like chevys the only one lacking with personality from their engines. They still sound amazing but the mustangs a growl and roar then the 6.4 hemis deep and punchy bass sounding the lt just sounds like it needs that final bang
@@gsjourney3054 Interesting. I have never heard someone saying that they didn't like the sound of an LT. Usually, the consensus is that the LTs sound the best, followed by the Hemis, and then the Coyotes. The reasoning that usually goes along with that is the old camshaft debate and how Mustangs don't sound "American" compared to Challengers and Camaros, but rather European because of the extra 3 cams in them.
@@RacerX9 It really is tough. I bought my 2020 PP1 GT in October, and was debating Camaro or Mustang for 2 years before I made the purchase. Both platforms are at the top of the list from a Muscle car perspective (with Mopar right there as well). The decision was really hard, and I love the Mustang and how easy it is to get power from the Gen3 with just some simple bolt-ons and a tune. End of the day I still look at the Camaro and think hmm should I have gone that route? ...lol
I went back and forth between a Camaro and a mustang. I love the idea of a low end torque monster but ultimately I fell in love with my mustang and visibility is a huge W for the mustang. Both cars are phenomenal though can't go wrong with either
I have a '17 Camaro SS. I think what people interpret as poor visibility is just that you don't have as much window to look out of, not that you literally cannot see. Plus if you have a shorter torso then seeing out over the steering wheel and hood could be problematic. The blind spot is there but if you properly adjust your side mirrors, it's no big issue. I will say the sense of speed is not great in the car, sitting down into it with it's small windows makes the sense of speed a bit dull, even if you're flying. I like them all though, Camaro wise I prefer pre 2019 styling, the Mustang can look good but to me it's a bit too European looking and the Challenger still looks quite good, I'm considering a Challenger R/T or Scat Pack as my new daily once I pay off the SS.
I had the 2017 Camaro 2ss I did enjoy it at first. But man that visibility. I was always scared that I was going to hit something . So I purchased a 2019 mustang GT and I love it.
I choose the Camaro because of price and it felt more planted than the Mustang. The Mustang felt more squirrely, not as planted. The Challenger is a great car to, more comfortable than the other two.
The Camaro is Ugly? How can one look at the Camaro and call it Ugly? The only thing about the Camaro is looking out the thing. Its more of a sports car than a muscle car. Mustang, Dodge, Camaro are all different. Its what you like best but none of those cars are ugly. I love the Camaro but for a daily driver the Mustang. Dodge if you have to carry passengers, Camaro ultimate driving machine, GT daily driver with a punch.

At 6' visibility doesn't bother me at all. Driven all 3 and prefer feeling in the car, not on the car. Little features like no lift shift, 2 rear cameras, HUD, etc. Would have me choosing a 6th gen all day
Once again I am getting an accurate an honest description of these, no bias 👍 Very nicely done! You can't go wrong either way, and that new Mach 1 tho. Congrats on the Mustang RacerX. For me, its gonna be 4th camaro and a 2021 an SS 1le. 😎
I just brought a 2020 2ss after owning a couple GT’s plus a Roush I wanted something different the Camaro has more features and looks more modern then the GT but the Mustang is more comfortable both are awesome cars salute to American muscle.
This also goes back to Ford vs Chevrolet too! Personally I’m a Chevy fan so I’d take the Camaro. Love the high impact color too! So tired of black, white, silver and red!
I chose the Mustang because I hated the visibility on the Camaro although I personally liked it better cause it has a Heads up display, a performance recorder and 360 camera that the Mustang lacks. Also, I liked the interior better on the Camaro but again, I couldn't see myself driving a sportscar fast with horrible visibility.
You will get used to the blind spots. I can't keep my wife out of our camaro and see hated the Visibility at first . I've driven the mustang, and a srt challenger and hated both the challenger I had to bring my class A cdl to drive and the mustang felt like something my mother would drive to get groceries in I wanted my car to stick out and look rare I bought the 14 1le ss .
Also for us manual guys the SS has no lift shift. Neither the mustang or mopars (challenger) can touch that without tuning, not to mention the tr6060 is far better than the mt82. Pedal assembly in the 6th gen camaro is also "more cool" than the others
Mustang's and the camaro have bored me for many years now. I got out of the muscle/sports car game for a long time due to a lack of excitement. Then mopar came back out with the challenger and they got me back in the game.

I am surprised that you said NOTHING (Zero,....Nada) about the "ultra-awesome 60's muscle car sound" of the Mustang GTs exhaust. My stock 2015 Corvette, which has the same engine as the Camaro, (and has the dual-mode exhaust always activated in sport mode) sounds good, but simply cannot compare to the music of my 2019 Mustang GT's exhaust note, especially as the revs climb past 5,000, 6,000 and 7,000 rpm. This incredible sound makes every single drive of my Mustang GT "an Event" . Love the enthusiastic and balanced presentation in all of your videos Racerx!

Thats been my experience as well. I haven't had a mustang stock for stock manual beat my stock LT1. The 10spd autos in the mustangs and camaros are fast but, still considered a crutch. Long live the manuals! Separates the men from the boys!
The Camaro isn't doing it for me. I don't like the styling on the Camaro either. With that, you made a great choice with the Mustang. Still, I'm stuck on the Challenger though. Great review Racer X! Hopefully we'll see a Whipple under that 5.0 hood in the future.
I've owned both cars, presently I'm driving a 2013 2SS Camaro. Before that, I had a 2012 Mustang GT. With the Mustang it was a spur-of-the-moment purchase. I own a 2019 SS 1LE and I've also driven the Mustang with perf options (my Camaro has the Tremec 6 spd, why you would buy one of these with a girly automatic is beyond me). The first thing I noticed was my Camaro handled a lot better than the Mustang, Camaro steering feel is phenomenal. BTW dude the 6th gen is very different than the 2010's. I checked out the magazine comparisons and they basically said the same thing about handling. I was going to buy the Mustang (Bullitt edition) but the magazine comparisons and my own experience killed it, there was no way I was going shell out the money for car with handling problems that were outlined by reviews.
Thank you fir this video. Perfect timing!!! 12:00 minute mark sold me. The visibility in the Mustang is a lot better than the Camaro. Dang it, I love the 5.2.
I agree with Racer X, the Mustang looks better and more aggressive than the Camaro. I've had 3 different Camaros over the years, 1994. 2012 and 2013 and the interiors always seems plain and boring. When I had my 94' Camaro I hopped in a 96' Firebird, and the interior was like night and day. It was like comparing the interior of a Chevy Spark to the new Vette. Mustangs were the same way for years and years. When they did the retro redesign, the Mustangs finally got better looking inside and out. I really liked the looks of my 2012 & 2013 Camaros, but then they started getting a little out of control on the styling and they became a little ugly in my opinion. A 2014 was my first Mustang and now I have a 2017 and I love it. Not knocking the Camaro at all, it's a great car.
Hey there, I was wondering if you still think the Mustang GT is still a good daily driver? I’m thinking about getting one for my daily. I love that the GT is such a beast on the interstate. Thanks JP3
I cant really get behind the 2015+ mustangs just because they sort of look like a focus. I think it sort of lost the image it just got back again in 2005
How is the cabin room and visibility in the 5th gen Camaro (2010 till 2015) compared to the Mustang? I know the 5th gen is heavier so not as fast as the 6th gen. But with mods that could be changed. Older cars dont have warranties. GM only sells extended warranties to cars no older than 2019. My 2019 has that warranty so I dont really want to mod it. I looking at a 2011 5th gen Camaro today.
@yoyo 19maybe if that mustang can get to triple digits..lots of factors but one of which im sure everyone suffers from is access to a open road to get the mustang that high in speed. Also your base gt 0 60 in 4.4 while the maro does 4 sec ...like I said by the time you get to 110 where that mustang wakes up..the rece is over. That's a dig. Even roll racing the maro still shines til about 130..at that point your jailbait lol sooo base stock form maro is the better car. But boosted that stang..is a beast.
@yoyo 19 yes. Racer X just did a twin turbo build on his mustang ...thing was doing 900hp on 12 pounds of boost..not even half way cranked up..an it was stock..except the oil pump gears...its crazy how those GTs handle boost...Definitely giving the GT the props 💪💪

Both cool but I’d pick Mustang over Camaro
It’s a tough one
Love both but got myself the Scat Pack ; )
Can’t go wrong with that one either
Me too.
Just shows you don't know what you're doing......
@@supergrovah2729 well they don’t make the Camera anymore anyway so
I choose the Camaro because of price and it felt more planted than the Mustang. The Mustang felt more squirrely, not as planted. The Challenger is a great car to, more comfortable than the other two.
I’ve had both, and a Firehawk Trans Am. I definitely preferred my mustang even though the Firehawk was the most awesome car I’ve ever had .
When the buyer can see out of the Camaro sales will take off.
amen
I see perfectly out of mine but I did learn to drive in one so I’m a outlier
The Camaro is Ugly? How can one look at the Camaro and call it Ugly? The only thing about the Camaro is looking out the thing. Its more of a sports car than a muscle car. Mustang, Dodge, Camaro are all different. Its what you like best but none of those cars are ugly. I love the Camaro but for a daily driver the Mustang. Dodge if you have to carry passengers, Camaro ultimate driving machine, GT daily driver with a punch.

I was like that too but the mustang took my heart

I think looks wise if you go 6th gen Camaro, 16-18 looks better. Visibility is different but it's not really that bad.

I love both and would take the Mustang as a daily. Since I own a V6 sedan as my daily I ordered a 2023 Camaro 2SS 1LE. Nice to have a sunroof too
Same, once I found out mustang doesn’t have sunroof that took it off the list. For ~50k I feel like sunroof should at least be an option
I agree that's why I brought a 2022 Mustang GT last year, the last of current 6th generation with no problems. Drive it every day, just love it.
2023 is the last
That shock color is so nice
It definitely stands out 👍
Before I picked up my 5.0 I was looking for a Camaro SS 1LE but I just couldnt find any. And I got a great deal on my Mustang. Both great cars!
At 6' visibility doesn't bother me at all. Driven all 3 and prefer feeling in the car, not on the car. Little features like no lift shift, 2 rear cameras, HUD, etc. Would have me choosing a 6th gen all day
Once again I am getting an accurate an honest description of these, no bias 👍
Very nicely done!
I drove a Red Rock Metallic '15 Camaro 2LT 4 1/2 years then traded for Synergy Green Metallic '11 Camaro RS I love it!
Both are great cars, but I would also pick the Mustang for many of the same reasons you mentioned! 👍💯👍
For sure buddy 🤜🔥
I have owned both. I also made the same choice. The Mustang is just plain sexy.💪🏼🇺🇸
So I should trade back my ss for a new 10
Speed ? 😲
That’s a really good point .. I really like the camaro but it definitely has its shortcomings
And yet you have more mustang crashes than Camaros

A week ago we test drove a Mustang and were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get in an out. After reading this COMMENTS, it appears the Mustang might indeed be the better choice for us. Thanks to all.

The Camaro isn't doing it for me. It's not for tall people, has really bad blind spots, door sills sit way too high, and that front hood... when it's opened it looks like I'm looking at a giant toilet seat.
I had never bought a Ford ever in my life and I'm 60 years young! All I did to the Mustang was an exhaust system. I will say it was a well-built Pony car and fun to drive. The Camaro I'm driving now is a hoot to drive I have only put an exhaust system on the Camaro. It has a little over 70,000 miles on it. It has aged well. I like the way I sit down in the Camaro vs the Mustang. You were spot on you can feel the difference in torque between the two cars. At the end of the day it all boils down to taste. That's why they come in different colors.
I sit too low in the Camaro. I am only 5ft 9in and I felt 5ft 3in trying to see over the sill. Lol. Mustang was better...My Challenger even better yet. :)
Yes I can definitely see that
Very well argued. I tend to agree on the choice
Thank you Joe
I've driven all 3, Challenger, Mustang, Camaro,
he said hold up to boost “just a little bit better”
It’s literally not even close, any boosted application on a gen 3 and can go to 750-800 whp stock block safely... and that’s with minimal upgrades to fuel system... none of the other “muscle” cars are even on the same planet... even gen 1s running around 650-700 whp stock without much effort...
Right bro
IMO I believe the LT2 needs to be put into the camaro. The c8 proved that the LT2 can handle the boost before the ecu has been unlocked. Just a bad thing on gm for not putting an updated engine to compete with fords updated coyote ya know?
Gen2 holds supercharger power even better.
@@carguy... ehh gen 2 and 3 are about the same imo for boost application, gen 3 makes power way easier but gen 2 may be a little safer cause lower compression, both have proven to take 800 and last
@@whatswrong598 Gen 3 makes 20-30 more horsepower tops, and Gen 2 is definitely stronger and safer. I have both Gens!! Gen 3 is really stressing the engine out from just stock tbh. Visibility was a huge factor for me. The camro visibility was terrible, had to stick my head out the window to merge with that huge ass c pillar with no blind spot mirror, if I pulled up to a stop light near the line no way I was seeing the traffic light at some of them and I’m just 5’7”. I legitimately have no clue how you actually tall people can drive a Camro comfortably or daily it. @@sleazyotto. how is that a terrible analogy? You buy a Camaro for performance not for looking at fantastic vistas while driving, you buy Budweiser to get drunk not to enjoy and savor its flavor with every sip. The Camaro is focused on performance everything else must deal with what that requires, sitting you way down low resulting in tall door seals to lower the center of gravity, cup holders way behind the shifter to prevent somebody with a manual from having drinks get in the way, finally tiny front windshield and rear windows to give better aero. It’s a great track car we’re none of that matters but for public road unless it’s a convertible with the top down it’s not ideal bc have fun reversing if your back up cam goes out in that car.

Yeah, I know. You know how it is now days, whatever is getting hyped is the train all the sheeple get on. When I bought my new camaro last June, I caught a lot of shit over it. Took some of my buddies for a ride in it that own challengers, chargers, and mustangs and they were all like "man, I didn't even look at the camaros". "All the internet talks about is the mustangs and challengers". Well, just for the internets information, none of my buddies challengers, chargers, or mustangs (including one buddy who now needs transmission in his 16 GT350- Kyle, you know who you are lol) can put better lap times up than my Camaro 1SS 1LE! All I'm saying is, all these cars are sweet, its the internet hype sheeple that spread the lies or, only watch video of certain cars modded racing another car stock. The slandering on the internet is like cancer!
@@Tusuperbis actually stock from the factory my performance pack 2 puts a better lap time down than your 1LE. But that’s only because of the stock tires being cup 2s on my car. With both on cup 2s the camaro is slightly faster. I looked at a 1LE but 46k vs 52k lol. Both cars are great.
I don't hate the Camaro. A buddy had a SS 1LE and I loved that car. It is probably faster than my Challenger and it handled great. The Tremec shifted better in it than the one in my car.

6.2
Love the videos man, but I can’t lie I’m here for the Mustang lol
Nothing wrong with that
I agree with Racer X, the Mustang looks better and more aggressive than the Camaro.
Lol, the Camaro and Firebird interiors were the exact same quality
Love the red interior! Thanks for the great content!

If mustang didn't have the crappy manual MT82, I would've bought the PP1 tomorrow.
I cant really get behind the 2015+ mustangs just because they sort of look like a focus. I think it sort of lost the image it just got back again in 2005
I went with the 2020 Roush Stage 3 Mustang. Its incredible. The Camaro SS is super nice as well.
When it comes to handling the Camaro chassis is much better. Can't even compare the mustang shows the front weight.
Glad you chose mustang. Camaros are the few and proud! We don't want you here! 💪🏾💯 ‼️‼️‼️ #SSGang!
Camaro is the better performing car stock wise of the big 3, if your gonna boost go mustang. But stock nothing is touching the camaro.
I’ve been a Mustang fan most of my life but because of Ford’s changes and being a lot more expensive I’m definitely considering the Camaro over the Mustang if I get a pony car.
that would be a terrible mistake on your part if you race.
