Underrated? He's consistently discussed as being one of the top frontmen / vocal athletes in all of rock despite being in considerably less successful bands, right there with Freddie Mercuy / Axl Rose, etc. Oftentimes he's discussed as being the best.
@@brandall101yes. He and Mercury on top. The reason he was “underrated” is because he wanted it that way. He wanted to be underground. I really think he purposely made his style buck the system, whenever he started to write a normal pop song, he would ruin it… and I freaking love that
Life is a joke and the jokes on us, so enjoy the "play" of life. "Till I finally died, which..." It's the death of our ego, our false self, not the body.....
You can clearly see Mike Patton's voice is no ordinary compared to other singers, he can adapt to any song which can clearly be an advantage to any of their albums from *TRT* till *SI*
We've been blessed with so many, when you think we had Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland and Perry Farrell among Patton's peer group. Sadly only one of that list is still here, along with Mike...
@@andrewphippsphillips1455 perry Farrell had a terrible voice...wtf. Cornell couldve sang opera, Layne was talented too. Weiland was a stud...but Perry...no!

The only negative I have with Patton is that he's impossible to sing along to in the car without sounding like a total prick. I can't hit half the notes he can. My whistling got better though.
great performance, starting with the introduction to Easy, their cover of the Commodores song before crashing into a brilliant live version of I started a joke, covering the Bee Gees. Their last single and features Martin Freeman in the video. Recorded for the controversial English TV show the Word.
His work as Nathanial Merryweather in LOVAGE is some of his best vocal performances. This and EASY are stand outs and put him in my top 5 singers. Chris Cornell, Rob Halford, Mike Patton, Ronny James Dio and Ed Kowalczyk. Thank you Mike for all the material and hours of contentment.
@@thekongtracks huh?? Well, yeah Sebastian can certainly reach levels of balconies with his chunder..lol..like the 6 balcony levels under mine that he splattered onto. Oh what a fun day..night that was opening for Guns n Roses..
He did...its called "Il cupo delore"....Or some shit like that....His mando cane stuff (especially the live one from Chile) is just mind blowing....6 octaves is no joke
The interview right before they play was so terrible, go watch it haha kind of hilarious. “Mike Patton & Billy Gould Interview with Terry Christian“ the tv host said that they’ll be playing easy, and then they came out and played this instead haha
Yep, they got mighty upset at Jim Martins pic on the table which got hastily changed during the break and Terrys genuinely puzzled questions as to why he was gone? he was the most popular member after all and is an outstanding guitarist, it would be weird not to express some bewilderment.
Hehe...I was too young fortunately...but caught up a little later for a little while...but I did go to meet up with the band and JM on Rohypnol from recent surgery..lucky I was a shy gal and didn't use it as a confidence booster or talk too much or make a fool of ma self.. apparently not bc Mike came and talked with me quite a bit. Though JM was there with me on one of the tours..his last leg of it..sad that they parted ways to be honest. Very sad. JM and MP were very cool and cordial and even laughed at jokes together..but I still felt the weird feelings between them every now and then. Still all in all I was pleasantly surprised.✌🏼❤💜
Years ago, in my bartending life, a customer got very excited. "I've got you tattooed on my leg! You're on my leg!" "oh, really", I replied. She lifts her skirt, there on her thigh was a tat of Mike Patton. We do look alike. He's got more range than I do, but I'm closing that gap.
When ever people say "whos got the best voice in rock history?", i don't hear Mike Patton's name enough... shame
Agreed. He's in the top 5 of all time IMO
Well he's been recognized as one of the best...
Chris Cornell* (i do think Mike is awesome though)
Easily one of the top 5
Top of the list for me
Respect to both Mike Patton and the Bee Gees.
Jesus that voice. He's glorious.
Mike Patton voice range is out of this world.
FNM forever !
Mike Patton the most underrated legend in the history of rock & roll.
Total legend

Whatever you may think of the Word, this performance by FNM is legendary. For me, Mike Patton’s vocals here left an indelible mark. He is astonishing
This is the first time hearing this song and I'm so BLOWN AWAY. This singers vocals and singing abilities are so damn FLAWLESS
Yes❤
The Bee Gees are always epic.
Mike Patton makes it look so easy. Very gifted vocalist with amazing range, he’s also an amazing song writer
Easy like a Sunday morning?
He didn't write this song, or easy
having the largest vocal range does help a bit
@@human6701but he is a songwriter I don’t think they were implying he wrote this or easy

Absolutely incredible voice !!
That bald dude at 1:29 gets me every time, he's really in the moment!
Lol he's head banging

I want this played at my funeral. This version. MIKE glorious gorgeous PATTON'S version.
❤
The greatest vocalist of our generation.
True. And yet our generation barely knows it.
After freddie mercury
@@jackiemyles7254 he's objectively better than Freddie Mercury. His vocal range is wider than any other known singer.

What an amazing singer and performer!!!! one of the beautiful and best voices!!! extraordinary band!!
Robin Gibb or Mike Patton are both beautiful and impressive. Mike with another touch as a rocker, more dynamic, may God bless them.
I love Mike Patton and this wonderful song in his performance
The only negative I have with Patton is that he's impossible to sing along to in the car without sounding like a total prick. I can't hit half the notes he can. My whistling got better though.
hahahahaa right!?!?
Whistling is a very underrated talent.
You mean you can't sing the end of the song "Helpless" at a stoplight in the big city?
@@TJ-vj2hc I could maybe sing the very end of it if tied to the railyway tracks by a cunning villain.
Best comment ever!! 😄
Bellissima voce e grande interpretazione di questo stupendo brano di Robin Gibb!! RIP Robin!!
Oh geez 🙄…. I’m all flustered at the sight of this man

Andrew D Bunker there was a legal reson for that.....they were told not to sing it
I remember watching this tumbling in after a long days drinking. It’s never left me
Fuck, he has a voice!
Great ❤
Mike Patton. Epic!
I remember watching this at the time, awesome performance!!!
1:29 shirtless skinhead moshing to a Bee Gees ballad.
That is somehow very Faith No More.
😂😂👍 Yeah..
I'll bet he's long dead...
Great 😂
Mike patton pure talent
I just imagine what it feels like to release an album like Disco Volante and then sing a BeeGees cover on a stupid show like this all in one year.
mike patton f'in rules!!!!
I’m dying 💔😭
Best band ever...one of best vocals ever ! ! !
I have beautiful, bittersweet memories of staying up to tape this.
Grande performance Mike ..Timbre de cantor de ópera.
Sim. O timbre de barítono também faz parte da versatilidade vocal de Mike Patton, o Senhor das Mil Vozes.

Omg...Great live version!!!🎤🎶🎶🎶🎶😅😅
The only version of this song I like is theirs. His voice is just so beautiful.
The Genius...and,why are they No1 of ALL fuckin' time ! !!
So underestimated! Quite a magnificent performance.
