I honestly absolutely hated living in an RV for this exact reason. I love to cook. Having space to spread out and prep veggies with my little one, while the muffins I prepped are baking in the oven, and a pot of soup simmers on the stove and my bread maker hums away …that is home bliss. Living in the Rv was so tight and confined. And the messes…. They were too much for me. In a house, if I get too overwhelmed or tired, I can literally just stuff the mess into a closet or guest bedroom for another day. It allows me to have the peaceful mind that I need to be happy. Even if I know the mess is in another room the fact that it’s not in view makes all the difference.
I live in a fifth wheel and this is so true, I don't bring anything in without taking something out. Ppl hold on to so much usless stuff. My husband was raised by an extreme hoarder so keeping thing to a minimum is easy for him. It also made it easy for him to go tiny because he never really had room to live in growing up due to his mother hoard.
You’re doing a great job! Don’t feel bad about overwhelmed. Large houses cause that also. And you’re decades ahead of folks twice your age. Stay strong❤
It’s freaking tiny it would take less than an hour to clean to spotless even if it was a complete pit. Try cleaning up after 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 sons and a husband in 2,000 square feet! 😂
I used to hate washing dishes, then I moved into a small studio apartment by myself. I found I could just zone out and do the dishes. I guess it's mind over matter. Having down sized makes it simpler too. 💖
I want to adopt this mindset, but god, I just hate doing dishes so much! Real talk, I buy takeout more often than I should because I hate doing dishes so much. If I had a dishwasher, I wouldn't hate it as much. But it's every. day. Not something you can put off. You can kind of let a lot of other things go, but not dishes.
I hear you loud and clear!!! I too live in a tiny apartment style condo and have the same issues!!! Thank you for posting this and for sharing your thoughts honestly 👍👍👍👍
I love the kitchen sink fixtures, beautiful and I know what you mean about the clutter, drives me crazy and I have a very small kitchen so I go through it daily!! Love your videos and your honesty!!
Yes!! We are also in a small space and it feels like every day can be a battle to keep things clean! Even with organizing everything, it feels like I turn around and there is another mess to clean.
My van is half the size of this RV. I feel you! I don’t live in mine full time but have taken it on some pretty big trips around Australia. Clutter and mess is the worst in a tiny space yes but it's easy to clean up fast! I wish I had all that space! I always have to remember to bring less on my travels. It's so easy to bring too much! You have a beautiful tiny home ❤
I can very much relate to how having a lot of cleaning to do makes me semi unable to start cleaning. I kind of have to decide in my head what I'll start with and what I need to do on a given day and what can wait another day. It seems to help a bit.
It helps me to commit to only 5 minutes a day. If I only clean for 5 minutes, then I have at least done that small bit. But most of the time, that 5 minutes turns into 20 minutes, and a lot of cleaning can get done every day.
My sister and brother in law downsized to live in a 22 foot Winnebago, then downsized to a smaller unit, then an even smaller unit, the back up to the 22 foot Winnebago. Traveled the US for about 15-ish years, then bought a not quite double wide trailer in a senior community. From the time they moved into the first Winnie, they kept their "things" to a minimum. Just enuf kitchen stuff for 2 people, 2 sets of bed linens, 2 sets of bath linens for each of them, and for their clothes a set for warm weather and a set for cold. If they bought something new, they got rid of something they had. They always shopped thrift/second hand/resale stores for clothes. My brother in law did well for footwear at those stores. My sister couldn't for ortho reasons, so she would just keep an eye out for end of season sales and usually could find what she needed/wanted. They continue to live the frugal life.
I live in a big apartment and I have way too much stuff. I was just at a local fair on Saturday and I was commenting how we used to buy stuff and we still want to support artists but we just can’t afford to buy more items space wise.
Clutter is something that needs to be addressed constantly for me. It's not a once and done, thing. I'm constantly looking at things and thinking "do I need this?"
I agree. I did it & posted my things I could sell on FB MP & IN 6 weeks I made $1000 & I let them go CHEAP. but it was such a great feeling gave a bunch of brand new still in box items to my bestie in need.. 😊 now I am going to my kids father's house & and he had a finished garage that is filed with CRAP..😂
Exactly. My husband and I just moved into a 3 bedroom apartment after living in a house we were renting. Downsizing was hard, but I know it will be nice in the long run to not have so much stuff.
So true. When I moved into my house 3 years ago I thought it would take a lifetime to fill it up. I'm already looking around and trying to decide what to get rid of as it's looking cluttered. If you have the space it will get filled up.
Then do put things right back. For exemple when you are cooking, in the meanwhile wash up the pots, spoons aso. Also try to put oil only on final plate. Things are easier to wash off when not oily
Pro Tip: Clean dishes as you go.(during cooking) Downsize to 4 of each: Bowls, Plates, silverware and cups/drinking glasses One set of mixing bowls, 2-baking sheets, 1-Casserole baking dish, 1-Cast Iron Pan, 1-Instant Pot, 1-8” Frying pan, 1 -2-3 Quart Pot. Clothes: Downsize. Go by the days in a week, 7. Add one (8) then do laundry once , a week. As in: 8 pairs of pants (including shorts) 8 Shirts 👕, 8 underwear, etc. 4 Towels, washcloths, and hand towels. (Use twice) Shoes: 1 Pair of boots 🥾, 1 pair of Tennis shoes 👟 or the like, 1 pair of slippers, 1 pair of flip flops. 🩴 Only buy things you absolutely HAVE TO HAVE 😉👍🏽 We’ve been living Tiny for 8 years 😊
How do you cook for 2 on an 8 inch pan...? Personally, we have a lot of weather and humidity. You need 1-2 pr raggedy shoes to get wet/dirty. Same w slippers. And I have 2 full sets of Cosco white washcloths for rags. 1-2 uses. Depending. I'd need at least a pair and a spare of pants/shorts...
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 I guess it is also depends what food you are cooking. My husband and me are not very into food so 1 pot wonder style is our go-to most of the time.
I'm a sucker for crockery whether it's everyday ceramic stuff or expensive china. Can't resist buying when I see it. That makes up the bulk of clutter in my house. Cupboards and cabinets bursting at the seams and I barely get to use most of it. I don't spend much on clothes or shoes. Just got a couple of bags. Will never be able to explain my unhealthy obsession with dinnerware.
I prep as a I go. It's my natural timer while I'm cooking. Slice the potatoes while the oil is heating up, Cut the onions while the potato is cooking, etc. I could prep ahead of time, but I don't like the extra dirty dishes. I just use 1-2 cutting boards, and right into the pan or pot the ingredients go. First, enjoy the meal, then set a 25 minute timer (I use the Pomodoro method for doing tasks), to clean kitchen, though I can get it done in less than 15 now. I tend to cook things that require the constant adding of ingredients, or that need to be checked or stirred/mixed frequently. Of course if I have a minute here and there while the food is cooking, I'll start putting things back in the fridge, rinsing things off so they'll be ready to put in dishwasher, etc. But my cooking process is very dynamic lol, and I rarely have time to clean as I go, as I'm usually "cooking" as I go.
I really relate to this. We live full time in a Passport travel trailer and it gets very overwhelming, but I find as with any space we have adjusted and try to do the dishes/ small cleanup every day now ❤
I somewhat have the same problem. My wonderful husband of 47 years passed of Covid in2021. We lived in a ranch style house on acreage in a small town. So I had to sell my house ( after my husband's estate/tool sale and my yard sale when my house was ready to sell a year later). Moved into a small 2 bedroom older mobil home in a park, but with a magical small back yard. I am still putting a box or 2 of free stuff out by the curb even now. Miss the deer i had in my big yard but things change and door's close and open for a reason.
I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how traumatic all that was. I hope you are finding peace and joy in life. You certainly deserve to after losing so much. I think you should consider writing a book. Reflections on loss and hope, learning to live with less and still finding the good in the everyday....I would definitely read that and I know others would, too. Regular people... their stories (much like my own), are far and away the most interesting.
I’m in the same boat as you are but I’m in a fifth wheel in an RV park. We should be so grateful because so many older ladies are ending up homeless. I hope you learn to thrive in your new normal.
At our local hospital, they were pulling people off of ivermectin and putting them on narcotics instead. Before 2020 that was an illegal thing to do to pull people Off of doctor prescribed medication’s, especially potentially life-saving medications when right to try is a right. Now we know that ivermectin was life-saving according to statistics that came out of Florida and Africa. However, even though more people survived on it and other post care options such as melatonin treatment, it doesn’t mean everyone did, I am so sorry for your loss.
As I’m 73 I’m trying to let go of what I no longer want or need. To be ready for future changes. I’m sure the changes you’ve faced hasn’t been easy. Good luck to you.
By the time my meal is prepped , cooked and ready to eat, I've usually tidied washed and cleaned as I go. If a meal takes 20 minutes to prep and cook . Tidy up before you sit down to ear it
9 of us in a 864 sq ft house with no basement. My wife almost couldn't take it anymore. I finally just borrowed from my 401k and we moved into a large enough home. If you want to save money rent an apartment. You won't have to replace the furnace, AC, roof, driveway, windows. Owning a home is expensive but I think it's still worth it.
I can relate to the clutter. If i don't do something immediately, I struggle. And I've also decluttered a ton. Pro tip: only have one knife/spoon/fork per person. If you want extras for guests, keep them somewhere not easily accessible. The less you use daily, the less clutter there'll be.
My husband and I traveled in a 5th wheel for 6 years What we did is Purge once every couple weeks. We got rid of THE EXTRA STUFF. It worked out great. Be safe 😊
At least is your fridge the reg. Size ?. A camper fridge is hard to store and juggle meals in. Always a struggle. With a reg. Fridge, I make up a pasta/ turkey broccoli dish kept in a single dish. I reheat it. I just finished a big can of peaches and a dish of franks and beans. I then replaced it with a spice cake for snacks and a vegetable dish as a side. You just can't do that in a tiny, dripping camp '.frige.
You probably never lived in a small flat, it is a big difference. Yes, you have to clean in both spaces, but the small one gets crowded and cluttered faster.
I've downsized and decluttered my cooking process, not just items but steps. Into a lot of 1 pot meals now. And doing food prep beforehand helps, like chopping veggies and meats once every wrrk for the whole week.
Downsizing is a constant struggle for me, I have a rule...if i bring one thing into our hone 2 things must go !! Everytime..Everything has to have a place. Because our space is so small. We've been at it over 5 years and it's still hard. Praying this gets easier for us all. ❤
I have been living in an RV for almsot 13 years, make sure you buy one that is a size you're going to be comfortable with. It is definitely a lifestyle that's not for everybody, more affordable than paying a mortgage on a house but you're giving up space and having to be picky about what you buy due to the minimal storage. It has its ups and downs for sure.

I’m always curious about the sailboat life. Most on UA-cam seem to be YouTubing as a career. What do you do for work and how does it measure up to the maintenance/supply costs of the boat?
When you have SOOO much to do that it just gets way to overwhelming and you end up doing nothing at all (or procrastinating for a very long time), It is called “work/task paralysis”. I struggle from it, so seeing videos like this that showcase how normal it can be, but that you can overcome it and still get things done is so very helpful to me. Lovely home, thank you. 😊
Sharing the chores with your partner helps. Both working together for a few minutes makes it go much faster and easier.

You make a lot of sense!!... I have felt that way the last 2 days!! ❤
You’re doing a great job! Don’t feel bad about overwhelmed. Large houses cause that also. And you’re decades ahead of folks twice your age. Stay strong❤
girl your home looks amazing and I agree with everything you said, but I really do hope you are not the only one cleaning up this place..
It’s freaking tiny it would take less than an hour to clean to spotless even if it was a complete pit. Try cleaning up after 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 sons and a husband in 2,000 square feet! 😂
I feel overwhelmed in a big home when it get dirty. You’re not alone.
Your tiny home looks very cozy and homey. Love it!!❤
I used to hate washing dishes, then I moved into a small studio apartment by myself.

So what do you do to get some action back?
I hear you loud and clear!!! I too live in a tiny apartment style condo and have the same issues!!! Thank you for posting this and for sharing your thoughts honestly 👍👍👍👍
Everything back where it belongs ❤
I love the kitchen sink fixtures, beautiful and I know what you mean about the clutter, drives me crazy and I have a very small kitchen so I go through it daily!! Love your videos and your honesty!!
You made your RV elegant ✨️.
I live in a small space too, and having stuff in a small space gives the impression of a mess, when it s not. U seem to have it figured out anyway.😊👍
How beautiful it is, messy or clean. Thanks for posting this-I love every corner ❤
Inside is beautiful. Can you give a quick 5-second exterior walk around? Thanks!
Yes, that is a challenge. I have downsized but I'm a senior and single. I admire your minimalism! 😊😊😊
Me too. I couldn’t agree more. It’s not just about doing the dishes. This whole place need to be decluttered and deep cleaned
I agree. I did it & posted my things I could sell on FB MP & IN 6 weeks I made $1000 & I let them go CHEAP. but it was such a great feeling gave a bunch of brand new still in box items to my bestie in need.. 😊 now I am going to my kids father's house & and he had a finished garage that is filed with CRAP..😂
i’m the same way! i’m always donating and throwing stuff away. i’m just not that attached to stuff tbh and it makes me feel claustrophobic
The more space you have the longer it takes to clean and you tend to accumulate a lot more stuff
This whole short is exactly how I feel!!
Motion creates emotion - when you don't know where to start, just start moving and things will feel better quickly.
I feel for real me and my partner live in 200sqft rv I love the minimalist lifestyle but it gets messy so quick if I don't put things right back
Then do put things right back. For exemple when you are cooking, in the meanwhile wash up the pots, spoons aso. Also try to put oil only on final plate. Things are easier to wash off when not oily
Pro Tip:
Clean dishes as you go.(during cooking)
Downsize to 4 of each: Bowls, Plates, silverware and cups/drinking glasses
One set of mixing bowls, 2-baking sheets, 1-Casserole baking dish, 1-Cast Iron Pan, 1-Instant Pot,
1-8” Frying pan, 1 -2-3 Quart Pot.
Clothes: Downsize. Go by the days in a week, 7. Add one (8) then do laundry once ,
a week.
As in: 8 pairs of pants (including shorts) 8 Shirts 👕, 8 underwear, etc.
4 Towels, washcloths, and hand towels. (Use twice)
Shoes: 1 Pair of boots 🥾, 1 pair of Tennis shoes 👟 or the like, 1 pair of slippers, 1 pair of flip flops. 🩴
Only buy things you absolutely HAVE TO HAVE 😉👍🏽
We’ve been living Tiny for 8 years 😊
Yes this. I found this tip 2 years ago. It will take a little bit to adjust like you will run out of stuff quick if you dont do dishes or laundry. ❤
We live full time in a Passport travel trailer and it gets very overwhelming, but I find as with any space we have adjusted and try to do the dishes/ small cleanup every day now ❤
Absolutely. But I still miss it! You have a lovely space and are doing such a great job with it!
Great job! Now feeling bad for procrastinating!!(i live in tiny trailer too) SO thx for the motivating vid.take care😉☺️
YOU are SO YOUNG, DON'T STRESS the SMALL STUFF... Beautiful Place.
Good luck to you. And sorry for your loss but life has to go on ..
Cozy and nice to know not everyone is perfect at keeping things organized all the time, your being real and thats light for the rest of us✨️
By the time my meal is prepped , cooked and ready to eat, I've usually tidied washed and cleaned as I go.
If a meal takes 20 minutes to prep and cook . Tidy up before you sit down to ear it
Your place is so cute! 🫶
I vote for do another sweep! See if there’s anything else you can donate 🥰 love your space it’s super cute!!
I feel the same way in a huge house! I would be greatful to have what I have! Grass isn't always greener on the other side
Try to get that money back into your retirement savings as soon as you are able. You will not regret it when you are 67 years old.
I can relate to the clutter. If i don't do something immediately, I struggle. And I've also decluttered a ton. Pro tip: only have one knife/spoon/fork per person. If you want extras for guests, keep them somewhere not easily accessible. The less you use daily, the less clutter there'll be.
How do you cook like that? Lol...or if you're serving others, you have to stop and wash the spoons?? Yeah. NO. Lol

I hear you girl. I live in a 1,500 square foot house 🏠 and still gets messy too. So don't feel bad.
I love it at least you have a home and it's yours
Yeah I'll take these problems
You are so right. A tiny space gets trashed so easy.
Your home is so pretty.
Be thankful. I wish I had a home, even if it was tiny.
It doesn't matter the size of your space, every place gets cluttered and youll still have to clean.
It rots faster if you do it all right away, unless you freeze it.
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 yes, I freeze it. Even bread I freeze haha.

Downsizing is a constant struggle for me, I have a rule...if i bring one thing into our hone 2 things must go !! Everytime..Everything has to have a place. Because our space is so small. We've been at it over 5 years and it's still hard. Praying this gets easier for us all. ❤
It’s true. Not having enough counter space / storage space really makes for a place to feel messy quickly.

@@jimsmisadventuresinbeekeeping I'd only do it if I could put it on my own land. I've seen the trailer parks that are a billion times too crowded. Even rats and other animals get violent forced together that way.
