A big like from me
@@MrMerlinAoe3 how do you check how much you have played?
@@ommmkepidahanid3373 You can see it on steam when you click on the game
I would say that tip 6 (queuing workers) is a lot more important than luring the hunts. great tips though
Thanks dude!
I think the only thing missing here is the importance of having a clear gather order. I think that establishing a good gather order is the key component separating the complete noob from the intermediate player. It not only affects your age up speed, but determines what kinds of units you can put out and when. These gather orders vary not only from civ to civ, but also from strat to strat (an FF gather order will be different from a boom one for the same civ!). Great video; subscribed!
Thanks for the awesome feedback my friend! Welcome to the channel :)
True. I used to put most villagers on food in order to age up, but forgot to move them on to wood (and perhaps some on gold) in order to afford soldiers in age 2.
I got this game today, my first AoE game ever. Took me quite a while to figure out how to increase my supply cap, you just need to click on a settler and order it to build a torp to increase your supply cap by 10. I guess a torp is the WC3 equivalent of a farm/burrow/ziggurat/moonwell, or SC2 equivalent of the supply depot/pylon/overlord.
Yeah exactly! I would recommend trying one of the basic civs such as the ottomans or French :)
@@Widgie but Ottomans got a limited settlers that could spawn with Town Center after sometime you can't spawn settlers anymore, and i am really slow on doing resources i can't win on Extreme Difficulty because the IA will always beat me, and i don't get why should get treasures as they are useless (i think) and you are so fast on doing everything literally you just drag randomly and they will follow your orders how are you doing that? like having visual on your Huntsman and then you check immediately settlers and drag them to their respective resources? bcs when i do it the visual doesn't go to settlers but will remain on the Huntsman, and how you do that thing where your troups are attacking enemy but you order them to go back and then shoot again?
Great tips thanks for the video theres a real lack of this type of content currently
No problem my friend 😊
I knew i could control group units, but it never occurred to me to also control group buildings lol. Thanks
No probs! Always here to help 😃
You can combine town center and outpost fire with shift click and assign a control group and target 120 damage overall on 120 hitpoint units such as russian musket, pikemen etc.
Great tips, veteran player here and even I didn't know you can set hotkey for idle villager! Also Shifting works great for making batches of units. Explorer tip: when fighting camp with many low hp/dmg guardians, eg. 5 wolves, you shoot one, run out of range and when guardians start turning back, you shoot em in the back, this way they get stuck returning to treasure and you shoot them easily, repeat all process again and you take no damage at all if done right. Also helps to have two land decks at least, one for agressive enemies and one for economy^^ When hunting in the open, don't forget to place down an outpost, specialy if enemy is cavalry oriented ^^
Thanks for the tips and I'm happy to help :)
The idle villager shift was also new for me. It's not about economy, but might be handy: select several type of units, then click on their icon while holding, shift, ctrl, alt, etc. you can exclude them from the group, select 1 type only from the many, and so on. ;)
Using the cards from your city. It's a wierd feature but it completely changes the game. For instance the British have an upgrade that reduces house cost down to 90 wood meaning that it's cheaper to create settlers from building houses than using the village centre. I also like to pair this with the card that lets you build houses quickly meaning that I get a lot of villigars at the start while transitioning to age 2. It also means you don't have to think about building houses as you expand.
In the 10 seconds it took me to figure out what card to send, my settlers have herded the entire maps food supply into enemy territory, half my workers are idle, got housed, and my explorer lies dead at the foot of a lion.
Good video again mate!
Appreciate it 😊
I am an average player but if you ever fancy a game I’m on pretty much everyday lol

Ok mate never been on discord but I’ll have a look
great video man, more tip videos please! Just a little bit of advice, make your videos at least 7 minutes long, that way when you get monetized you can put multiple ads and will earn more :)
I didn't know that! Will remember in the future. Thanks for the kind words 😊
I'm trying to get the economic victory. I get the 10000 points ahead but when I get to the imperial age the box doesn't check and my trophy never lights up. If I click on it, a message pops up saying economic victory is not available right now. I can see in your video that your trophy was lit up where you could have clicked on it if you wanted. Do you have any advice?
can you make a video about villagers and their ressource gather rate compared to fishing boats etc.? Like how to max your ressource income from start to lategame?
That's something that I might do. Does involve alot of statistics and research though haha
@@Widgie Now you can turn on the "resources per minute" option. For example, an unupgraded settler gathers +30 wood per minute
@@EsquivadorDePala Yeah I like this new function :)
I like to turtle and I'm new. I understand why you have to keep making new villagers but is there ever a point where you can have a too high villager to military ratio?
Not really to be honest. Always make villagers
Honestly I was soo happy to find this video but all of the tips are kinda useless, I agree that the grouping is good but it's really far a way from being a tip, as a beginner I would like to hear about how many villagers I need to get ,what type of food should I go for...but that's only my opinion thank you for the vid anyway:)
Hi! Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it! I understand what you're saying in regards to the number of villagers but you have to bear in mind that the question depends on what civilisation you're talking about. This guide should be used to help you with ALL civs. I'm pretty sure that I mention that you should focus on the closest huntables and herd them to your TC. Hopefully this helps :)
Thanks acoustic kid
Is there a skirmish mode? Where you fight the PC 1 vs 1?
Yes there is on and you can play against them on multiple difficulties.
I wish my economics teacher was as good looking as you;(
I'll have to come and teach you economics ;)
I play treaty 60min with lisbon i start the war with 110 k coin and 110 k food but with passage of time my score drop , how i can save my eco ??
Not too sure tbh as I don’t play treaty!
HI, best strategy to defend against the freaking French Cavalry??
Depend what civ you’re playing, maybe pikes to defend the base?
@@Widgie I use Germans
@@Widgie and when attacking?
@@damianrodrig1 long term, dopps
Good video. I would rather not have your head taking up half of the screen though
Will bear that in mind in the next video 👍
