I was at this show. This was a bluegrass festival, and Lake Street Dive was almost entirely unknown ... and clearly isn't a bluegrass band. They played two sets. This was early into their first set, but by the end... they had the crowd in the palm of their hand. The only group to get multiple standing ovations and cries for encores. By the end of the second set, the entire crowd was on their feet dancing. As a huge fan, it was truly remarkable to be able to see them win over the crowd like this.
Love when they ramp up and rock out like this. Everything LSD does is beautiful, but I’m a rocker at heart, and the full-on drumming and crunchy guitar show another wonderful side of them.
I watch videos by LSD several times almost every week. Now I came across this video for the first time today on March 28th 2014. It's online for months. Crazy, how can that happen? And it's one of the best of that great band.
I'm just starting to listen to these guys. Wow, the talent level is through the roof ! The harmonies, crazy good....love the way the stand up bass carries the band, that girl has chops....anyone else hear some Susan Tedeschi in the singers voice ?

.. Rachael and Susan have powerful voices. Susan s bit more bluesy. Fabulous both.
