Whatever anomaly in the solar system caused the orbit of these four people to collide, I am grateful!!!
Jim Hannigan They met at M I T. So they’re brainiacs as well. LoL
Actually met at New England Conservatory of Music. And Bridget got a double degree/Tufts. Still you are right. Smart.

Rachel is the best!
Love this band.
@@MrPhillyguy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachael_Price
The way she sings “smooth” is just about the smoothest thing I have ever heard. Genius
Bridget Kearney is one outstanding bassist!
at 3:15 she rips it!
i think so, too. In person, you can really appreciate her playing.
@@egelb Lucky you, They aren't scheduled to come East
She absolutely shreds it!
@Edward Gelb
She’s an awesome songwriter as well.
To have this kind of powerful voice is crazy. This is my favorite version of this song easily.
I've seen them in NOLA 2wice, B'ham, and Pensacola. I was always front row joe at the concerts. They rock.
Somebody explain to me why this band isn’t the best-known act in the country?
Every part of this was great. Not pieces. All of it. This is a great live recording of a great band, playing a great song.
Every time I watch a performance of Lake Street Dive I cannot help but be blown away by the incredible vocal talents of Rachael Price. I mean, her voice has a power that shouldn't be measured in decibels but on the Richter scale. All of them are incredibly talented musicians, no doubt, but Rachael should probably have a warning sticker on her, "Caution, Vocal Output Can Cause One Being Knocked On One's Ass!"
🎉🎉
And to become completely addicted.
Rachael Price has the best voice in music today - female voice. Just like the great vocalists from the great jazz and swing era.
It's difficult to judge as the "best", but Rachel is so distinct and clear I know her voice after the first bar. She is so talented, has a natural voice and was a strong vocalist with an amazing personality at a young age. I also love this band and their approach to music. I hope we hear a lot more of them in the coming years. I love jazz, and Rachel is a natural.
I used to play in a rockabilly band that covered this song. It had to be my favorite song we did even though it wasn't necessarily rockabilly. I felt like all of us really connected during that song. All singing together in that chorus and playing our instruments in perfect sync. Everytime I hear this song I about tear up from the joy it brought me. We broke up years ago and made a come back years after. I'll never forget we were in a sanctuary doing an acoustic jam of this song. It was one of the first songs we had played together in years. Everything just came back. It was like a spiritual awakening during this song. I don't know what it is about it but it's powerful. Thank you Lake Street Drive for all that you have contributed to the world with your music.
❤
I am so frustrated by their lack of comparative fame. They are massively talented.
Kirstyn Scott It's because they're too ' old sounding ' and the they're boring. What is our generation? This is quality music! I really love this band.
What is "old sounding?" By your definition. I'm actually curious.
I too feel the same way...
I keep trying to like them and it’s just not happening. This isn’t a bad song, I just have no desire to hear it again.
Mmmm, came across this video by chance. Have to say I don't think too many people here in Australia have ever heard of Lake Street Dive. I certainly hadn't until now but I like what I'm hearing.
Bridget has a talent for finding the perfect groove, playing it perfectly, and adding something small making it 15% better. Killer talent.
Yep. Your comment led me to actually listening to her bass lines carefully through a few songs. You're right. That's her secret--she finds that groove, then kills it! Killer talent. Thanks!
It doesn't hurt to have one of the better drummers I've ever heard right behind her.
Bridget is great
i agree! if you’re not a bass player you may not ‘get it’ but Rachel Kearney is a very talented bassist … just saw her/them live last night … while Rachel Price is very commanding, I couldn’t stop watching/ listening to that bass
That bassist is so sick. Look at her go.
Amazing. I'd love to meet her, maybe get some tips, and jam with her... And if she's into it make some beautiful music together...
I SO SO love you Rachel!
Don't you just love stumbling over happy accidents. Found this band on UA-cam and can't stop listening to them. Happy new year!
This is my first time hearing them and Rachael. A friend just posted their version of "Can't Find My Way Home," and I'm a goner.
@@MsShellectable make sure hear Rich Girl. My heart about exploded first time I heard it.
Me too!!!
Dittos. Now I'm a happy guy
Same here! Great voice, great band.
Wow this chick's voice is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!!!
How can so many not like this group. Having only 4 performers and a lead singer that can sing anything. This is a breath of fresh air. Just great!
This is one of the best drums for a song I've heard. Racheal sounds and looks like an angel. The guitar is crisp perfection, and the Bass is just bad ass😍 😀😁🍓🙈🙉🙊👼👯✌👓🐵♀♂
The best part of this song is from 00:01 to 03:46.
John DeRoos I love it! Where have I been all this time? I just discovered them this morning on The Charlie Rose Show on Hulu. I love everything about this band. I have NOT heard 1 NOT ONE song by them that I don't like actually LOVE!
Pretty much. Though the ad before it wasn't exactly ideal.
True but at 3.13 it hits top gear! Love this music and band...
WORD. A tune from 6 years ago and they are still kicking it!! keep it up guys!
It's a privilege to listen to them play. It's a genuine treat to experience music from people so talented, practiced, and tight.
IMAGINE IF YOUR LAST NAME WAS MOREHEAD...
Lets be honest, I cant be the only one having a huge crush on Rachael, can I?
+Melissa J Not even close to being the only one... :)
+Melissa J Yeah, umm. Not alone.
I'm head over heals for her...
+Melissa J I wanna go to a park with her and hold hands
+Melissa J Nope.
I love her voice, but when she hits those high notes I'm in heaven.
the harmonies are so good sticks in my head for days
"There can be craft without art, but there can be no art without craft." ----Ansel Adams
These people first mastered their craft and then became artists. Such a rarity these days.
I was thinking that too. They learned their shit. They want to play music FIRST, then be "stars."
trying to pull that magic trick myself as we speak. I have time, talent, insight and vision, and drive. BUT NO OTHER MEMBERS HERE IN THIS SMALL VERMONT TOWN. HELP! PLEASE SEND TALENT! I NEED RACHAEL!!!!
I wish they would get back to this sound.
Beatles
❤
Who else immediately re-watched it ???
seen them twice live in Toronto. Class Act!
This might just be my favorite song of all time. Flawless all around.
The combined elements of this "masterpiece" along with the musicians' expertise, power, precision and overall delivery make all the hairs on my arms and neck stand on end...UNBELIEVABLY OUTSTANDING!!!
***** Yep... good too.
It must be a joy to play front for these musicians.
The replay button. I CAN'T STOP HITTING IT
Just caught them on Colbert.. Lovin this!!
That's Colbert bump)
WHY do I keep coming back to this video? Because it is always a pleasure to see and hear talented people do their thing.
Jesus, Bridget is just a master of that bass.
She kills that bass. Great listening to her, isn't
I agree, quite amazing.
That riff at 3:15
Do you know that feeling you get when you listen to a song for the very first time and it's so good, it brings tears to your eyes? That has happened to me with every LSD song I've heard so far. Simply outstanding band
Me too!
Yep
This video is my current addiction.
In addition to the obvious talent of all the members, the tightness of the ensemble, and the grooviness of the material, the arrangement is just perfect.
I still think they bit off a bit of Iggy Pop with that rhythm, but it's not like it's a bad thing lol.
You know what's another one i love ? "The Dip" try their treehouse acoustic songs
I can't stop hearing this in my head. It's the best earworm I've ever experienced.
@@jpenneymrcoin6851 Ain't it great to have one that you don't mind being stuck there? :)
jeeezus, Rachael, have mercy....shes so good i cant take it.
Colbert got me here, that velvet, smoothe touch of jazmine sullivan and adele voice has made me a fan. I LOVE the soulful sound from this group. Call u guys micky d's... Cuz im lovin it.
2020 and still listening. Love LSD! (The band)
Can't stop lisyening to this song. Finally some young musicians playing "smooth soulful music".
I can't believe I only heard this woman today.. Amazing voice
this is on repeat. i love her face!!!
I cannot get enough of this band. Completely unpretentious and completely fascinating-- Rachael even leaves on her glasses! Too much! :)
Unpretentious. Good word. Great musicians first and foremost.
Back in my day we didn't have music this good. Kids today are lucky.
I LOVE hearing good blues-rock from performers who actually have a solid background in traditional music training. Skill meets Soul in all the best ways.
There's nothing smoother than this band.
Damn, Rachael Price! You go down SMOOTH!!!!!¡!!!!!
Love Rachael's glasses. And the voice . . . DAMN!!!!!!!!! This band kicks serious ass.
This woman is honestly the most inspiring person I have heard and seen in a very long time.. Takes my breath away. Can't wait to see them in Ithaca on the 13th!!!
And I'm just now discovering this band!?! Thanks Colbert!
One of the best things that makes this enjoyable to listen to, besides many of the obvious things (and this my be among them), is the quality of the recording. It's rich, clear and sincere.
omgggggg i just discovered and i'm obsessed with Rachel's voice!!
caribbeanqt16 - Her name is spelled Rachael.
Amazing Bass at 2:51 (how sweet the sound) and again at 3:17
It's like Motown and the Beatles had a baby
Listen to how perfectly in synch Calabrese and Bridget are at 02:25
True. But also that moment at 1:50 and 2:00 on... That is just full-on awesomeness. As a musician, I would have trouble playing my part & singing the way they do here. Just astounding!!
Please live forever you wonderful human beings.
Love this performance.... the song, like it's title, goes down Smooth !!
love her voice and their sound...very cool
My favorite band😍😍😍😍
Her voice 😍😍😍
Everyone should take it easy on all of the, why aren’t they more famous talk. They are extremely talented working musicians. They are doing exactly what they’ve dreamed of their whole lives. I’m certain that they are happy.
Rachael's diction is so crisp, while hitting every note and trill. She's amazing.
Rachael's "look" changes so radically from video to video I wouldn't even know it was the same person if I wasn't a fan.
I can't even deal with how much ass this kicks.
+John Reynolds It kicks 100 percent ass, 100 percent of the time.
+John Reynolds It kicks 100 percent ass, 100 percent of the time.
I agree 100%
Agreed
Seriously
I'm sitting in traffic yesterday and this girl next to me is ROCKIN to this song, I heard the hook " You go down smooth" look it up on YTube and I'M hooked. Great song !!!
they always look like they are having so much fun and absolutely love what they are doing, I Love what they are doing, I put this on every morning when I wake up to start the day off right.........
Smooth as Butter!! First time hearing this group...LOVE! Spotlighted on NPR!!
Rachael has perfect pitch. She never misses a note by even a hair.
everyone in this band compliments each other SO perfectly
I got this song as a free download from starbucks (don't judge me) and I couldn't be more in love with this song and her voice and the entire group
Me to and I love this song and never imagined listening to indie music but this is good
Josh Guzek I thought i was the only one!!!!!
Josh Guzek listen to side pony
They are TALENTED and their songs are GREAT!
Going to see them in Glasgow in November. Talented band and sure of a great Scots welcome.
Just saw the band in London last Thursday. They were amazing! Have a good night!
Kandelise Kandle : they were amazing live and great covers of Lola and Bohemian Rhapsody. Def now a fan.
Pipes. She's got pipes.
They were brilliant at Oran Mhor in Glasgow. :-)
This band is the whole package. Everyone's a vocalist, and thus everyone plays at least two instruments. Rachael just plays her voice times two.
This is a seriously great band.
Seriously in love with this lady...
She looks like that cute English teacher you thought you had a chance with
The best thing I've hear in a long while.
You got the Colbert Bump! Nice!!
This right here is musical perfection
Thank you for sorting by new, kind sir.
267 dislikes are career musicians who saw this and instantly gave up.
Hah

Such a classic sounding song.
yep...sounds like the Beatles.
@@anthonysalters Yes, spot on!
@@SenatorPhoenix ...and they were a pretty good band..haha
That bass player is so awesome musical and cool. Damn you go grl. Love your stuff.
LOVE this song!!
the best female vocalist of today... and the band compliments her in so many ways. its a shame that this great music isn't more recognized, but if it got too "pop" the scene would ruin it anyway
They KINDA are pop. But they are pop from several sub-genre.
@@agropsychonaut I mean, have you heard their Hall and Oats covers? Are Hall and Oats classical?
VOCAL HARMONY.. on top of it all. amazing band currently making music like this feels slightly better to be alive right now
That look on the drummer's face at the end is like, "did we just do magic or something?" Yeah, buddy, you sure as hell did.
Literally obsessed since I saw them on Colbert! Can't stop listening, great music!
how does this not have over 1,000,000 views ? lmfao wtf ?
For the hell of it I did a search for Justin Bieber. "Baby" featuring Ludacris has over a BILLION views.....view counts and quality obviously don't go hand-in-hand.
tommylehman
I try to post the ones with the most views, but like to showcare new and relatively unknown new talent.
Keep in mind, I know it's not a lot by UA-cam standards., but more people have enjoyed this song than have attended Woodstock, or the last 4-5 superbowls.
Shhhh...let them be our little secret.
***** you kids get off my lawn!
I really love this guys, so many time ago since i not saw so much talent in a band, each one is an incredible, great, wonderful, amazing, awesome, musician. i love all their songs the lyrics the music how they play it. Mike Calabrese and Mke Olson are oustanding and exceptional, Bridget Kearney is so extraordinary , and Rachel Price, OMG that beautiful Voice from a gorgeus woman.... it makes me feel so many good sensations !!! it´s just so GOOOOD TO ENJOY THEIR MUSIC !!!!!!
These are special artist that have the power to move our bodies
My wake-up music
Damn you guys just kill it! Great band!
This band is PHENOMENAL, such a good find!
My favorite one. Seeing them on sunday so excited!
Really love you guys...love that cut "I want you back" right there on the street - No acoustics, no studio, perfection, excellent sound. You know U OWN that song now. Can't wait to see you-come back to New York (just missed you by 1 night last time!)
She sings like Amy Winehouse. I love it.
better
I loved Amy Winehouse, but she never saw the day she could sing half this well
nah..man...nope.
Think Amy's timing is about 10 more fabulous. Rachel is pretty d*m good & I love to listen to her .. but for raw emotion, I stick with the late Miss Winehouse.
A young Bonnie Raitt.....
This little white gurl right here... Just one of the most refreshing things i've seen in a long long time. Keep it up.
in all the live sessions i see of them the sound is always so dry but the way they all nail the vocals just keeps the whole thing together so strongly . So beautiful
This one great tune......nice harmonies too. I found a new favorite!
This band is so tight. They deserve way more success and pub than they have. Pop music is such garbage and those hacks are selling millions of records, and a talented group of musicians like Lake Street Drive continues to be sorely underrated. Maddening.
Who cares man? If people are too stupid to notice bands like this it's their loss!
Agree on it being a tight band, but there are quite a few of those out there, next level eg, more success and pub is to have an orginal hit song. They are actually doing pretty well getting out and touring considering.
essa voz de Rachael...espectacular...que buena banda...impresionante...todos los integrantes muy profesionales...que lindo...
Oui
I wish I had this kinda talent . This band is gross.
Just found about this band and checking out some of their stuff. Man that girl kills that bass. Awesome band!
Simply out ... standing!
Thanks for channeling your energies into music, Lake Street Dive.
awesome band!
Colbert bumped me this way. Good stuff!
Me, too!
***** I promise you both that you will not regret it! I've been following them for years and they've never disappointed!
Jamie McCoy Yeah, Jamie, I listened to a few more songs and dug 'em!
Colbert always has the best tunes...well apart from that 'robin thick' business :P
Robert Harper Agreed, found Tinariwan through Colbert. I also found another source for good new music, the "Jam in the Van" you tube channel is pretty nice.
They are incredible !
There's aren't many groups that impress me, but this group can really bring it. Fabulous. Fabulous ! Great mixture.
