The image quality is marginally better but tbh, all of these cameras video are pretty close, it's 2025, if action camera's can't give you at the very least good video quality, they should be making something else lol. What sets the real differences for this category cameras anymore is everything else but video quality imo ;)
I have had my Ace Pro 2 for a couple of months now and loving it. I still need to try the DJI wireless mic setup so good to hear it works without the adapter. Happy New Year. Watching from the Philippines....great scuba diving. I broke my shoulder a year ago so probably no more scuba for me.
Yah, the bluetooth mic seems to sound better on the Ace Pro 2, could be because it has better audio settings when it comes to mics then the Ace Pro does. This whole video was used via the DJI Mic Mini via bluetooth except for the close-up shots. I'm actually impressed tbh.

Can definitely appreciate wanting to do a more unique review given the time that’s passed since release, but would love to see low light comparisons similar to those you’ve done with the previous model if you feel so inclined! I always find additional night footage interesting and don’t personally feel that’s yet overdone.

Thanks for the review. I've had mine since launch day and really like the changes from the original ace pro. I did not receive the rubber rings with mine. I guess that was a later addition. I like the guards you created. Would be nice to have since the lens guards are out of stock since day one. Thanks for all that you do. Happy New Year.
Yes, from what I understand those 'rings' were only in the new batches. Wonder if you sent Insta360 an email, they might send them to you, they are generally pretty good with stuff like that. I do prefer my own design tbh, it gives better protection imo. If you're interested, I made them available on ETSY from many member requests from the Ace Pro FB group I belong to ;)
Which part? some of the segments were shot with the X4, the side views and because it's overcast and dark in my car, the X4 does not handle low light well in 8K. I also shot the whole thing in Flat profile and was playing around with LUTs. The video after this one is much better, sorry, my bad, I was playing around with the camera ;)
@@MelvinDlaCruz Yah, I noticed that too, weird, that first couple of minutes is a bit blurry but then after that, the same car shot is clearer. I must have been playing around with that segment. I'll check out my original footage and see if it was the source.
@@TheFBNL Yah, that would be nice but I highly doubt they would do anything with the dive housings. I wouldn't be surprised if they start coming out with different lenses now that that guard is removable. If you're looking for a underwater macro option, you can check out my previous videos as I've designed a 3D printed adapter for different dive housings for the Ace Pro to use with my macro lens for underwater shooting, works pretty good actually and now that we know we can use the Ace Pro 2 in the Ace Pro housing, I won't have to change my adapter unless you have the new Ace Pro 2 housing with the odd triangular lens cavity. ua-cam.com/video/KaOfR7unWlU/v-deo.html

They should make macro lenses that replace te existing cover so it's compatible with the underwaterhousing
