    I always wanted to serve my country.
    Core issues is parents. Remembered them asking me when I was 15 what I would want to do in life? I want to be a fighter pilot.
    It was a HARD no because they were sponsored from a war torn country.
    I'm now not living with my parents so I may pay the ADF to spend the rest of my life serving my country doing something I would love

    Civilian here. These people seem more like paid actors to me. They don't really give off an enlisted military vibe. Again, it's not my world, but seems unconvincing.

      i’m assuming your ideal scenario of “military vibe” would be strict and demanding. the experience within their careers represent just this, they are not required to replicate their military experience to civilians.
      we’ve grown from the stereotypical harsh nature of the military, still strict as shit but the expansion of technologies have allowed cyber, engineering and medical careers to bloom outside of the active forms.

    I would never ever serve or fight for Australia, i know how i was teeated for refusing the govt supplement , i will never forget.. goodbye
