Italian dressing has been my go to marinade for most of my life. I learned it from some Filipino people back in the early 90s. It's even better on pork than it is on beef.
My Pop Who was a chef at the Adolphus hotel in Dallas was using Italian dressing marinade for his fajitas back in the late 60’s after eating people couldn’t believe that he had used Italian dressing because it was so good
Been using this for years on everything. If you need a quick marinade it's the go to. However its like cilantro, people either love it or hate there is no in between.
I watch a lot of people cook on youtube, but I never end up doing it myself. I’m 100% gonna try this one though, super tender is what I’m after since I grew up a vegetarian and I’m not super used to the chew meat comes with.
True but it has soo much damn bad oil in it. If you care for the health you’d stay away from that product. It’s really no different than taking a swig of the oil you fry stuff in.
I have done grilled shrimp skewers that were marinaded in italian dressing and kickin' chicken seasoning. They were delicious! Gonna have to try this on some skirt steak one of these days...
I've used multiple Italian dressings as marinades. The Olive Garden dressing does a good job as well. If you're not going to add your own seasoning... go for the dressing with the highest sodium content.
I just wanna say I love your personality brother I just can’t help but get excited when I see your recipes. I love Mexican food it’s almost like (emphasis on almost) the combination of best of Middle Eastern and south Asian food combined❤ ❤️
Love fajitas, and all of these look great! We've been using Italian dressing for decades, but not the pre-fab bottles. Try Good Seasons Italian mix, and use avacado or EVOO. Particularly with EVOO, it does congeal during refrigeration , so need to get it out of the fridge for an hour or so before you plan to use it again. We Love your style Brother.
That looks amazing and I'll definitely be trying the 2nd recipe. Also, I'll be letting my 82 year young Dad know about your channel. He'll love it because he's old school like you (not to say your that old, just that he'll respect you're cooking style 🙂)
We have a video out on our channel of chicken marinaded in italian dressing and it is amazing. I never thought of skirt steak doing the same thing. What a great idea. Good job brother. We are making this for sure!
Arnie, your explanation of why "French" dressing is really Mexican is very funny. Kudos to you for calling out the fake stuff you can buy in the supermarket.
At the dawn of the “fajita competition movement” Adolph and Charlie Alcala won best fajita in the Valley competitions with damn best this recipe (which I released in 2012 on my UA-cam station) in years 1976, 77 and 78. They are from Galveston Island.
visiting the hill country a lot, several people I know used italian dressing for lots of meat grilling. always worked out, gonna have to try fajitas next.
I wonder if it would make a difference in the strength + smoothness of flavor in your marinade if you would mix all your marinade ingredients together, let them integrate into one another overnight in the fridge (or even leave them out on your counter for awhile) THEN add your meat the NEXT day + marinade it for 24 hours?
Can’t go wrong with good fajitas. I’ve been buying some pre marinated ones from Costco lately and they’re some of the best I’ve had and I typically don’t like pre marinated meat. Your marinade looks awesome, but would you say the $20 marinade + time is worth it vs simple Italian dressing?
I’ll be more clear. Charlie Alcala of Galveston Texas won three of the historically FIRST Five Mc Allen cook offs in 76,77,78 with seven seas dressing and soy sauce base at the dawn of fajita cook offs. It’s a reality new culinary item dictated by the cheap cuts of meat available at the time when n the valley.
I use Italian dressing for chicken breast regularly. I love it. Just a warning for anyone who decides to buy olive garden Italian dressing for this purpose. It contains little bits of cheese. When you go to grill it the cheese burns before before the meat is done. It totally wrecked my meal. Just a heads up.
I grew up with a Sicilian influenced from mgrand mother and marriage into a Sicilian family. Im burn out on the Italian dressing flavor. Still good stuff. Its comfort food for me. I like Texmex sometime.
lol since I was a kid in the 80’s my parents have been cooking chicken fajitas with that exact Italian dressing. I used to talk so much trash lol. I was like “what are these crazy argentines doing bro” haha
I moved to Austin Texas back in 1985 and met and became friends with a Mexican family and this was the first thing they taught me. 🌮 🌮 🌮
Yep I been using Italian as a base marinade for 30+ yrs. It’s good on a bunch of meats. 👍

We have always used Italian dressing as a marinade. Well over sixty years. It’s wonderful.
Y'all are a beautiful couple. Thanks for the videos.

I use Italian Dressing to marinate venison backstrap. Nice flavor and tenderizer for sure
My fiance's mom does this and it is amazing!
It’s so good!!
Good on ribeyes, too, believe it or not. 2 to 1 lite italian dressing and soy sauce. Marinate for 8 hrs. Really good.
We used to do that sometimes out on the ranch grilling in south Texas. One bottle and some tortillas and good to go.
That makes sense. It has most of the right seasonings already built in and is acidic, so it tenderises the steak.
True but it has soo much damn bad oil in it. If you care for the health you’d stay away from that product. It’s really no different than taking a swig of the oil you fry stuff in.
@@danielploy9143 Bad oil? The brand I buy is grape seed and olive oils.
@@nicholasneyhart396 would you buy a bottle of grape seed oil to drink? I believe not. When you know you know.
@@danielploy9143 I have eaten and even drank grape seed oil when I was constipated. It is fine.
I’m gonna try out this fajita marinade tomorrow and give it a try! Wish me luck!
Update I just tried it and everybody loved it 🔥. 100% recommend this recipe
Also great for chicken. Any time I make wings I do half and half of Italian and Frank's red hot sauce. Absolutely amazing
Frank's Buffalo sauce is DELICIOUS!
My dad always did this with his briskets for competitions!
Always came out good!
Yes indeed!! I use the zesty Italian packet on chuck roast in the crockpot. It's so good!!
I have done grilled shrimp skewers that were marinaded in italian dressing and kickin' chicken seasoning. They were delicious! Gonna have to try this on some skirt steak one of these days...
Central Texas too! 30 something years ago everything going on the pit was marinated in Wishbone!
Same here on the coast
Fact!🤘🏻🍻
40+ years ago in SA we did the same
I've used multiple Italian dressings as marinades. The Olive Garden dressing does a good job as well. If you're not going to add your own seasoning... go for the dressing with the highest sodium content.
My uncle taught me this way back in the day..come out great
Can't believe I have never heard of this before! Definitely going to try it!
I just wanna say I love your personality brother I just can’t help but get excited when I see your recipes.
I love Mexican food it’s almost like (emphasis on almost) the combination of best of Middle Eastern and south Asian food combined❤ ❤️
I marinate pork chops in Italian dressing overnight and cook them on my charcoal grill. I definitely need to try your recipe!
Here’s something I learned from a Mexican restaurant, when I used to live in California. Make a margarita… use it as a marinade. Delicious fajitas!
My Grandma uses Italian dressing for her flank steak to marinade. I'm looking forward to giving it a try with skirt steak on the grill.
My dad does the same. It's delicious!
All of it looked soooo good! We'll try yours. You guys were adorable in the wedding picture! Just babies!

I've used Italian dressing as a marinade for beef, chicken and pork for decades. My dad did it before me.
You make me smile when I watch you talk about food🤤
I like to use fresh lemon 🍋 juice to break down the meat and tenderize it. But yes this works wonders too!
Can’t wait to try this one! Gracias

I do my chicken fajitas with Italian dressing and fajita seasoning 3-4hrs. Simple 😋
Lots of good flavour there. Cheers, Arnie! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Cute couple making delicious food like this... I enjoy watching those chill vibes.
Big up from Paris (not Texas, but France 😂🇨🇵).
Loving your posts!
Youre a blessed man, with an awesome lady, livin the good life
God Bless
Wow man, this looks sooooo goood! Gonna try it, y gracias, Maestro!
This is an old trick. Also works as a great marinade for kebabs. Soaks into the beef, mushrooms, calabazin, and veggies. Works well for chicken, too.
Looks great as always!

I love your videos arnie.❤❤
My mom always made fajitas like this when I was growing up and I do the same now. I never knew other ppl did this.
So my dad wasn't nuts when he marinaded ribeyes in Italian dressing as a kid 🤔 now of he'd stop cooking them well done and eating with steak sauce
Arnie, your explanation of why "French" dressing is really Mexican is very funny. Kudos to you for calling out the fake stuff you can buy in the supermarket.
Er... "Italian" dressing....
This is a excellent video. All His videos are excellent. Thank you and mom is wonderful also. Fun video s 🙋♀️tx
Just last week, I marinated pork tenderloin in Italian dressing and grilled it....amazing flavor.

Man, I tell you what I’ve been doing this I thought I was the only one it’s also good on chicken too keeps it tender juicy
We use Italian dressing to marinade chicken prior to grilling on our Classic Black Weber kettle charcoal grill.
fixing to do country style ribs, but now i want fajitas
visiting the hill country a lot, several people I know used italian dressing for lots of meat grilling. always worked out, gonna have to try fajitas next.
Arnie is the man
Italian dressing used as a marinade is definitely an old school south Texas thing!
A good woman by your side is a man’s life marinade ❤
Ty Arnie. I always thought the dressing would be a good marinade.
Multiple restaurants I worked at used Italian dressing to marinade chicken, this tracks
Can't wait to try this "Arnie" Asada recipe

Mom use the wishbone and soy some fresh garlic salt and pepper and on the que just the bomb
I tried it two days ago and it's some of the best steak I've had
At 4:20 he says he likes to use bong water!? lol
Bottled water as a Texan Texan accents can be strong depending on where you are in Texas 😂
I've been using Italian dressing for a marinade since the 90's.
Been doing this with chicken for years! Nice!
This works good for all types of meat, especially game. Mmmm tasty.
not remembering what you used last weeks marinade is very relatable jaja
Arnie your son does a good job with the product side
Good! Good! Gooooood!
Ima try this. 🎉
Arnie u the man brotha! Only problem with this video is that u need some Californian IPA beer with that!

Mmmm qué rico está todo
I do my steaks the same way
The only way to have dove breast is a mix of Italian dressing zesty with some Worcestershire sauce! Thank me later!
Italian dressing makes a great marinade for all kinds of meats, chicken and fish. Doesn't matter.
Yummy! 🤤
I use Italian dressing on chicken breast but I usually put some garlic salt and pepper
And rosemary
Looks delicious Arnie! Jealous!
Just tried that n it came out real good thanks for the tip 😂
💥 and Bam!!!!!!
Arnie you need to make a cookbook ❤😊
We're in process now, it will be out next year

My dad was marinating steaks in Italian dressing in the 80s
I am amazed we don't ever see your neighbors peeking their heads over the fence to see what you are cooking.
am sure they all moved away, cant stand the daily mental torture
I grew up with a Sicilian influenced from mgrand mother and marriage into a Sicilian family. Im burn out on the Italian dressing flavor. Still good stuff. Its comfort food for me. I like Texmex sometime.
My dad and I marinate our chicken fajitas in Italian dressing and smoke them.
I use the olive garden dressing
How many pounds of fajitas can u marinate with those measurements?
I usually do two full strips, about 5 lbs
You don't understand. I already love dressing. I love steak with salads. You're about to change my life 😭
You guys are such a cute couple ❤
Where do you buy your fajita and most of the meats you use?
lol since I was a kid in the 80’s my parents have been cooking chicken fajitas with that exact Italian dressing. I used to talk so much trash lol. I was like “what are these crazy argentines doing bro” haha
Italian dressing was always a go to for chicken
Wait…TerryTex corn tortillas? Boom!
Italian dressing works very well as a pork chop marinade.
ArnieTex, do you have a copycat or a similar recipe to la michoacana fajita marinade?
👍👍
Arn I gotta tell ya, youre like the bob ross of great BBQ
I use Italian dressing as marinade for chicken quesadillas
Arnie can we get a Tacos Suaderos video ? How to do it from start to finish the whole jacuzzi and braise the meat........
