Dylan Carlson since leaving StL : .267 AVG, .842 OPS, 3 HRs, 9 RBI..... Once again, the BEST thing that can happen to a young ball player is to escape the Cardinals system.

I saw a great interview with Carlson he said his new teams coaching is way better than Cardinals he said team is completely prepared before each game and the coaches go over every situation that could play out during game something oli never does. What's killing this team is oli and staff wake the fu front office, and anybody that says oli is a good coach is a complete idiot I've been saying it since he has been coach and now we have the proof fire oli now and stop the clown show

That is a total fabrication of that interview. Carlson said he felt there was not enough positive feedback in StL, and that comment was a "read between the lines" shot at Mozeliak and his contract negotiating. There was not enough money in the offers to players, and outright disrespectful positions taken by Mo in arbitration hearings to decide contract disputes. That's the "positive feedback" Carlson was talking about. As for the preparation, Mo is totally reponsible for the scouting info given to Marmol and staff. The scouts work for Mo, the database people work for Mo. Those people do NOT work for Marmol. So ALL THE BLAME on preparation should go on Mo, NONE to Marmol.

Walker did really good playing at third base in double a should stay at third instead move him in the outfield he was not good in the outfield I see all the prospects come through double a in Springfield and all hitters in the majors chase every pitch that’s low high Side the smart way to hit the ball is middle of plate

@@sharonw2475 that’s just like Goldschmidt and Gorman, they don’t care if it’s high, low, inside outside, a ball or a strike, they whiff at all of them. Especially with the bases loaded and only one out in a one run game.
Walker did it to himself, there is no "damage they are doing to Walker" in this. Can't blame Mo or Marmol or anyone else for all the strikeouts and bad contact, the player himself must work that out.
I said here way back before the Spring Training where Mo decided to keep Walker up on the MLB roster that Walker had too many holes in his swing. I knew he was poor defensively too, but thought that was temporary. Well, Major league pitchers might not have known where not to pitch the ball to Walker at first, but they clearly have "book" on him now. The strikeouts and weak contact have gotten worse. And the defense was not temporary, it's real ineptness now.
Robert, "launch angle" was a positive spin the front office made to cover up the demotion back to the Minors. The REAL reason Walker was sent down was the strikeouts. And in spite of that, and the fact Walker got very little better at making more contact, Mo brought him back up last week, clearly making a panic move, and then sending him back to AAA. That latest move was wrong, but the die was cast on Walker before that call up. He does not have the skills and ability to be a MLB player.
Where's the spark? Where's the leadership? Where's Yadi??? And what about player evaluation and development, currently non existent? The ownership needs to clean house.

They followed the plan for Dylan Carlson. I'm sure he is glad there is finally a new plan. Same for Shildt, they both seem to be better off for it. We had to follow the plan for O'Neill, how did that work out? No wonder players don't want to play here.
Why don't they ever send down Gorman? It's always Walker being sent down. Crawford was a good dude, we never needed. I was a Burleson fan and Baker will do better than what we have been doing. They should have traded Goldschmidt last year when he had value. Please don't waste 20 million on re-signing Goldschmidt. He WAS great, not worth that money now.
I like Gorman. He's young. BUT......He's definitely not a 2nd baseman. He won't stick his nose in there on a tag, and that was evident last night. But the kid can wreck the ball when it's over the plate. Imagine if he ever starts going to the opposite field? If Dave Duncan or Dave McKay was helping this kid he'd be a much better player. But we have Ward. 😑👈
Clearly, Mozeliak hasn't known what he's doing for quite a few years now. And the addition of Bloom to the penny-pinching squad in the front office hasn't improved things. Walker should never have been called back this season, at least until after the Minor league season ends and the MLB level rosters are expanded. That too-early move (and the reversal soonafter) by Mozaliak was panic by the front office. The tide is shifting against Mo among the fan base. If there is a riff between Marmol and Mozelik, that's a GOOD thing!! Marmol ought to be exceptionally unhappy being in the position of having to manage a team put together by Mo that has so many unworkable parts!!!
Season is over. Thankfully I do not have Bally Sports to watch this clown show.

Yeah, I've been a pretty stalwart defender of the team and the organization as a whole but I think it's time for some DRASTIC changes... They're ruining all their "Star Prospects" by bringing them up and then IMMEDIATELY causing them to doubt themselves by benching them or sending them down when they start to struggle (like every prospect does).
The rest of the league has caught up and we look like we're trying to copy their homework with "our guys" and it just looks like a mishmash of weird platoons and "matchups" that make it so no young guys get consistent playing time and it kills their development and then guys that have been struggling all season get to play every day...
Feels like we need to just clean house and start over with management and coaching with PROVEN guys from OUTSIDE the organization.
When is the last time you seen this team manufacturer a run like the Brewers did? It use to be our bread and butter? Now it's a afterthought. They coach by calculator now and it doesn't work! WE NEED BASEBALL MINDS! And we don't have that or its not allowed to be used? "Hub" Kittle is rolling in his grave right now, because this is not Cardinals Baseball.

There’s a difference between telling young players what they need to work on and telling them they aren’t trusted, and will never be played against their weakness is. So then they can never actually improve that weakness. You can’t develop young players like that. They’re trying to turn everyone into a “specialist“ and it ends up just making them bad against everything.
Yes they need a manager and someone that gets his first job yes I would like to see some of our old players and yes tired of everyone saying power solves all but smallball wins more games

Plus, the Cardinals have been making a lot of steal attempts this year too, to help score runs. You have selective vision too much, Robert. You say things that aren't true.
"coach by calculator" is true to a point, but the Manager and StL coaching staff would keep getting fired until people came in to do exactly as Mo wants them to do. So your veiled criticism of Marmol just keeps coming off as more falsehood. Marmol has no choice, and he shouldn't have to become a martyr to satisfy one RobertCrist. After all, he has a family to feed.

This is just the curse of Mike Shildt. After shunning him and having a good season with the team Shildt put together, been all down hill since. How quick they forget he won the Memphis Redbirds back to back AAA championships. What did Ollie do besides kiss the right butt?
The cards have spent 300 million more than the brewers since 2017 money is not the issue. They are lost.
Mo and his team of yes men have destroyed this organization. Mo and Dewitt have done so much damage that there is only one way to fix it, a top down rebuild. They must hire a new head of baseball operations and allow them to change the front office, scouting, player development, and coaching. I'm not holding my breath though.

Goldy has proven over and over and over again he can’t handle situational hitting, sit him for a while, he’s gonna be gone next year , we don’t have to pay him homage, they brought Baker up, let him play firstbase a week or two just for an experiment. How much worse could he be. Every time Goldy hits a solo home run I say to myself, too bad there weren’t about eleven guys on base.
The cardinals need to do a minor rebuild. Get rid of your bad contracts like Matz and Mikolas. Clear the coaching staff and play your young core of players and see what happens. You need something to juice the fanbase.
You’re a clown for saying that releasing Crawford was long overdue. That’s a guy that Arenado and Goldy wanted on the team for leadership and likely was not a popular move in the clubhouse. Someone has to be a back up infielder on every roster. Are you expecting to have a backup that’s gonna hit for high average and get 20 homers a year? He was never on the team to be a force at the plate, that’s like saying Yadi should’ve been released in the 2022 season.
@@jjlame2273 I understood it at the beginning as insurance for Winn and no I don’t expect 20 home runs but I would like someone who can hit left handers to even out the bench which consisted of mostly left handed hitters… its just wasting a roster spot because he didn’t offer much as a player on this roster… Id much rather have Fermin for that role

@@LockedOnCardinalsMLB Fermin puts up worse numbers than Crawford and has no accomplishments at the big league level. Yadi was a washed up catcher in 2022 and was completely out of shape. I believe he only hit about .200 that season. Crawford has 3 World Series and was considered a top shortstop in the league for multiple seasons. Crawford brings much more to the table than Fermin (that goes beyond performance on the field) and they could’ve just sent down Gorman and called up Fermin. No matter who our backup infielder is, that person isn’t going to get much playing time with Goldy, Arenado, and Masyn on the team. So idk why you think it was wasted roster spot when Fermin is hardly going to play and is simply there to give one of our best players a rare day off
@@jjlame2273 If Crawford raked against left handers I'd have nothing but praise for him. The off the field stuff with BC was probably great, not arguing that. But a bench bat who could hit lefties is where the team needed help and BC couldn't help with that unfortunately. That's why they got Pham, it's why Baker is now on this roster. Fermin, from what I've seen, doesn't have great splits against lefties either so he might not be an upgrade at all but he does offer speed that BC couldn't give you either but still has the defensive flexibility to play multiple positions... I don't dislike Brandon Crawford, but this team needed help in areas where he couldn't provide it... Yadi also handled the pitching staff (we saw how important that was in 2023 when he wasn't around) and is force against stealing bases. Yes his offense was rough but he did plenty of other things that were virtually irreplaceable

Whatever their strategy for Walker is, it stinks. This organization is doing an awful job of developing talent. Just count the names we’ve heard about in the minors that had us excited for them to be promoted to the bigs only to watch them die on the vine. Walker is one more possibly very talented athlete that they are screwing with. I’m sorry JD but Mozeliak hasn’t had a great track record just because he signed Goldschmidt. And it has nothing to do with not spending enough money. It’s how terribly the money is being spent. And if Goldy gets resigned it will be more money spent badly. Mozeliak is an abject failure going back far more than a couple years.

JD what is the cardinals thoughts on Michael Siani. In my opinion if they don't resign him they have lost their minds. Before his injury he was steadily improving his average. One of best center fielders in the MLB. A player who can bunt. Steal bases. He will be very good as he plays more.

Walker has always had holes im his swing that couldn't be exploited by lower pitching, Highschool, low A, A+, and most AA. But good AA, MLB and most AAA pitchers exploit the holes in his swing. Idk whats going on if he cant make the adjustments, but the breaking balls low n away n too many ground balls will continue to be his weakness

I don't think they should have brought him up to begin with. Stay in AAA and finesse your game. Work hard and become that player that is the dyed in the wool hitter we know he is.
Tear it down. Start the rebuild. It may take more than 5 years before we see a winning team. Nothing is guaranteed. But it appears the fans have seen enough. Cards may be in for a long drought of losing baseball. Maybe the DeWitts saw this coming but had to bring the fans along side slowly due to many years of success. Hope is nothing but an illusion. Time to tear it down and rebuild. EVERYTHING!

Man, we have more guys hitting 240 or less who are guaranteed to be in the lineup everyday than any team, I live in Memphis!!! Jordan Walker started out 155 and he’s been in Memphis all season long!!! Let’s start over Cardinals Oli is not the guy!!! Milwaukee is the only competition. We are stinking up the joint and we’ve been in second place for weeks.

Desperation leads to stupid decisions and this call up of Walker is a prime example of why the organization needs a clean sweep from top to bottom. Mo’s poor roster construction led to this circumstance and Oli’s readiness to platoon Walker despite the available information proves this plan was doomed to failure. Dewitt needs to make major changes if he wants to keep the fan base.
You mentioned that Walker hits right-handed pitchers better than left-handed. Platooning in that manner makes no sense. Their logic is baloney. If they both agree means they are both dumb. However, Bernie seems to think Mozeliak can't admit they disagreed, but he is just providing cover for that disagreement.
Bernie is part of the negativity problem surrounding this team, stirring up false drama for more clicks on his channel. He needs to be ignored.
When I heard they were gonna platoon Walker I didn't like it either! I thought he should at least hit everyday. Their plan as I knew was to platoon Walker though, yes. However, that's NOT what Oli did! Walker only faced a RHP in 1 AB I believe, and it was in the Reds bullpen game. Walker didn't even start that Reds BP game.
He faced 4 LHP in the other 12 AB's, with which he tends to struggle against as most of us know! If they were going to platoon Walker, why not use him against RHP as well then? Baker could've faced the LHP as a DH, as he hits them better. It just doesn't make sense man lol!

Why not try to get rid of Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldsmith? These two players have done nothing for the Cardinals since they arrived. Why not give the younger players a chance to succeed? That's why the Cardinals should have torn down everything and rebuilt. But instead they thought that they could win. It's a shame the way the Young prospects are treated in the Cardinals organization. Moe has got to go. Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols will go nowhere near him.

According to the MLB players contract, Walker has no option to demand anything.
His option is play in the Minors, or get out of baseball. Given his now-obvious talent shortcomings, he better get out of baseball.
This has been a steady decline since larussa and Duncan retired. Since then it’s just been the Mo-show. And it’s been his way or the highway, I.e. Mike shildt. It’s his coaches, hitting coaches and philosophies. This organization is ruining good young players. We used to be the team that got the most out of players and had them play way above their paychecks. Now it’s the exact opposite.

Let's face it: 2024 is over, and we won't get better next year with this roster. We have 3 players who have let us down; in order, Arinado, Goldschmitt, and Gray. These guys make something like $85 million together. Oh, yeah, and are we really, truly, gonna keep the hitting coach and his staff when the season ends? I hate it as much as anybody, but it is time for a rebuild.

Extension was the right move, one of the few Mo made the past two seasons.
Mo puts together the roster, NOT Marmol. Mo orders his Manager to use analytics in lineups and moves during the game, Mo controls the scouting, Mo controls the scouting database used for analytics.
