The cross on the flag is the George cross, not the Maltese cross of the Knights of St. John! The George cross was given to the Maltese by King George to honour their courage and bravery during WW2.

You have quite a few of incorrect facts, main islands are Malta, Gozo and Comino only as Filfa is a piece of rock in the sea that was used for military training as a shooting target. The size of Valetta is not 0.8 square meters. The cross on the flag is the George Cross and not Maltese cross, the George cross was issued to the Maltese people for the courage showed during the war. The planning authority does not restrict the use of colours on our building and the front doors of the houses with bright colours are actually with the permit from the planning authority.....

I love Malta, I’m visiting at the moment. But clean? Compared to where? The place is full of rubbish, plastic, broken glass and other detritus can be found in the water easily (St Julian’s, Comino etc) and street corners have piles of cigarette butts and discarded food packaging. Central Valletta is kept beautifully clean (which is lovely) but the state of most of the rest of the islands are a tragedy. Ok, maybe not as bad as images I’ve seen of Iraq, Syria and other Middle Eastern countries but compared to the rest of Europe, Malta has a problem with filth.

I was excited to visit Malta in early June this year, it's everything you could possibly want in a holiday destination, beautiful country, friendly people and wonderful food and wines.

The Maltese Cross you described is not on the Maltese flag, the Eight Pointed Cross is the cross of The Order of the Knights of St. John, known as the Knights of Malta and as you described. The George Cross on the flag was given to the Maltese by King George VI of The United Kingdom, for the bravery and heroism shown by the Maltese during WWII

Before making a video please check your sources... Most of the facts are straight up wrong or mostly false.. This is a huge insult to us Maltese... FYI Malta doesn't help the Mafia, in fact Malta has one of the lowest crime rate in Europe.

All successful economies are having a high digit inflation. For e.g Japan, where housing and daily bread is very costly.
Compared to the US it is extremely cheap. But yes if ur from here or another country and ur not use to spending so much I can see it being pricey!

My mother was Maltese, but I was born 3 months before independence and was not eligible for a Maltese passport, so I would have to buy a house or an apartment for a certain amount (which was high at the time) because I was classed as a foreigner, as I lived in the UK.
I know Malta better than my mother did.

I always enjoy watching videos on Malta this one included. I would just like to say though that some of the facts are wrong the most notable is that the cross on the flag is the George Cross presented to Malta during WW2 by the King of England. This little island is an amazing holiday destination, cheap, friendly and most importantly very safe.

The Maltese Cross is NOT on the National Flag. The George Cross was awarded to Malta in April 1942, that's the Cross that is on the National Flag of Malta.

(This measurement is about 1/4 th the size of a smart car) the Maltese cross (8 pointed cross of the knights of St John) is not the cross displayed on the flag. You should visit! But unfortunately some facts are very wrong,. Our language is not Arabic and the cross on our flag is not of the Knights but a medal of honour from the British after our brave demeanor in the war. Malta is amazing!
Being completely Maltese and have lived I. Malta all my life, I have to agree with all facts besides that it's a tax heaven, it might be, but not for most Maltese. It's not the most beautiful but still is unique. One thing which is disappointing, the horrible pronunciation of the Maltese words use in this video, like for example, Filfla and Mdina. Other than that very informative and good video like all others.

Hi, I enjoyed this video but must say you need to correct your comment on the Maltese Cross. The cross on the Maltese flag is not the Maltese cross of the knights of the order of St John. The Cross on the Maltese flag is the George Cross Presented to the Maltese people during WW2 by the then King of England King George.
