Hi, I'm Caelum, I'm Irish and I know a good folk tale you may not have heard of. I haven't had any first hand experiences, but it is told a lot here in Ireland.
We talk about a dead woman we Irish call 'the Banshee.' It is widely accepted that she died young after winning over the heart of the most desired man in her village, likely having been murdered by another of his suitors.
She is a wrathful spirit, who targets newly established families and teens, and brings misfortune on sight. However, if you hear her voice, you become entranced by its soft, dulcet tones, before you are met with a grisly end. At night, if you hear her wailing, the same misfortune will occur.
Usually, the banshee is depicted in a dirty white dress, stained with blood, with long, dark hair, matted together, and waterlogged, white skin with protruding veins, black blood coursing through. She roams back roads and hobbles along them, constantly clutching a brush, with which she attempts to de-tanged her clumped, dirty hair. And worst of all are the eyes. They are said to resemble coal, polished to perfection, but glowing red hot.

Sometimes me, my dad, my sisters and my stepmom sometimes watch scary stuff on youtube. We were thrilled when we found out about snarled and where quick to binge all of the 'something scary' series when we came across this one. My family and I are indeed Scottish and we knew what the kelpies where so when we were watching this me and my little sister where terrified but at the end of the video when everything went silent my dad shouted "THAT'S SCOTLAND FOR YAH, YAH BASTERDS!!"....thanks dad, I actually liked the white dress I was wearing and I wasn't too keen to customize it yellow.
