I don't mind the mothman not existing, the creepypasta horror urban legend vibe that it gives off is fun and lively enough for me to want to go to that town and support the local businesses. It's like watching a horror movie, you know it's not real but you still watch it cause it's fun. Same with the Mothman. Watching this again for the thousandth time and I realized something. In their interview with the woman at the restaurant, she says that "Danny Scarberry's mom" fought Mothman. One of the women who encountered the Mothman in the 60s was named Linda Scarberry, and then Ryan goes on to talk about how Linda had paranoia and delusions after her encounter. I think Linda Scarberry is Danny Scarberry's mom from the story, and her "fight" with the Mothman was another one of her delusions. I could probably do some research and see if Linda had a child named Danny, but they're definitely related since they have the same last name and they lived in a small town.
I looked it up and I think you're right because it said she had a daughter named Danielle, but she also had a grandson named Daniel, so either could go by the nickname Danny.
Sounds like the relationship is true but be careful about presuming things. I live in a very small town and there are 3 totally different, unrelated families with my last name. People ask me how my family is doing or whatever and they're not talking about my family at all
I'm so mad this wasn't brought up: Following the mothman sightings, a large snowy owl was found in the region. It was shot and killed, immediately ending the sightings. That's it. Mothman was an owl. Things like it's size and speed were likely exaggerated by people who were panicking in the dark, and not thinking clearly. Some sightings were certainly hoaxes for attention, others were mistaken. But we do know what mothman was.

Also annoys me that they dismissed the idea of the crane (an actual living thing that has been proven to exist) as being in West Virginia despite their being sightings of it because those aren't 'officially' in that state, but apparently believe the sightings of an anthropomorphic Moth creature (something that has not been proven to exist). Like fair, it probably wasn't a crane and it might not make sense for that specific bird to be in that region but it literally makes no sense to think it's less believable that an actual documented animal was responsible for the sightings than it is to belive an interdimensional Moth creature was. Either way it was likely a large bird, and the fact they skimmed over the logical things it could have been does make me mad. Like it's just a show for entertainment and maybe it was cut for time but this video makes it seem like the only thing it could have been was mothman when there are 100% logical explanations that explain what it likely was.
It's also really interesting that this took place in the 60's and the boys keep bringing up weed. Like, my guys, the 60's were the peak time for hallucinogenic drugs to be mainstream. The likelihood that these people dropped acid, one of them saw a big bird and started tripping, and the others fell to the power of suggestion is MUCH more plausible than a cryptid.
Ryan scares the Cryptids away with his bright reflective yellow vest and Shane scares the Demons and Ghosts away with his verbal intimidation. They are good at surviving these possible encounters that would otherwise eat or possess them.

What if Mothman is a owl beast-humanoid? Afterall, Mothman doesn't appear to show a visible neck and their eyes glow/reflect red in the dark. As well, owls are known for silently gliding/flying; could explain why they're so silent yet makes high-pitched vocal noises.
Moth or owl, a human sized cryptid would not be able to fly (would need a wingspan of 20 ft minimum and the wings would be too big to function at that size). I think they saw a chunky owl and got freaked out.

Those cookies are actually quite tasty. They also have good breakfast burritos lol. If anyone is thinking of visiting the town, avoid the festival dates (this past weekend was the most recent). I had a buddy go during the festival and he said it was so crowded and chaotic and he'd not being going to another one. When I went, it was literally a random Tuesday in July. The town was quiet, we ate at the Coffee Grinder, saw the museum and the statue. We even visited the (very) small state park on the edge of town. We were able to take our time and really enjoy a lazy afternoon.

I don't mind the mothman not existing, the creepypasta horror urban legend vibe that it gives off is fun and lively enough for me to want to go to that town and support the local businesses. It's like watching a horror movie, you know it's not real but you still watch it cause it's fun. Same with the Mothman. Watching this again for the thousandth time and I realized something. In their interview with the woman at the restaurant, she says that "Danny Scarberry's mom" fought Mothman. One of the women who encountered the Mothman in the 60s was named Linda Scarberry, and then Ryan goes on to talk about how Linda had paranoia and delusions after her encounter. I think Linda Scarberry is Danny Scarberry's mom from the story, and her "fight" with the Mothman was another one of her delusions. I could probably do some research and see if Linda had a child named Danny, but they're definitely related since they have the same last name and they lived in a small town.

Following the mothman sightings, a large snowy owl was found in the region. It was shot and killed, immediately ending the sightings.
That's it. Mothman was an owl. Things like it's size and speed were likely exaggerated by people who were panicking in the dark, and not thinking clearly. Some sightings were certainly hoaxes for attention, others were mistaken. But we do know what mothman was.

Also annoys me that they dismissed the idea of the crane (an actual living thing that has been proven to exist) as being in West Virginia despite their being sightings of it because those aren't 'officially' in that state, but apparently believe the sightings of an anthropomorphic Moth creature (something that has not been proven to exist). Like fair, it probably wasn't a crane and it might not make sense for that specific bird to be in that region but it literally makes no sense to think it's less believable that an actual documented animal was responsible for the sightings than it is to belive an interdimensional Moth creature was. Either way it was likely a large bird, and the fact they skimmed over the logical things it could have been does make me mad. Like it's just a show for entertainment and maybe it was cut for time but this video makes it seem like the only thing it could have been was mothman when there are 100% logical explanations that explain what it likely was.
It's also really interesting that this took place in the 60's and the boys keep bringing up weed. Like, my guys, the 60's were the peak time for hallucinogenic drugs to be mainstream. The likelihood that these people dropped acid, one of them saw a big bird and started tripping, and the others fell to the power of suggestion is MUCH more plausible than a cryptid.

Afterall, Mothman doesn't appear to show a visible neck and their eyes glow/reflect red in the dark. As well, owls are known for silently gliding/flying; could explain why they're so silent yet makes high-pitched vocal noises.
Running theory is that the original sighting of the mothman was a misidentified owl
Moth or owl, a human sized cryptid would not be able to fly (would need a wingspan of 20 ft minimum and the wings would be too big to function at that size). I think they saw a chunky owl and got freaked out.

Those cookies are actually quite tasty. They also have good breakfast burritos lol. If anyone is thinking of visiting the town, avoid the festival dates (this past weekend was the most recent). I had a buddy go during the festival and he said it was so crowded and chaotic and he'd not being going to another one. When I went, it was literally a random Tuesday in July. The town was quiet, we ate at the Coffee Grinder, saw the museum and the statue. We even visited the (very) small state park on the edge of town. We were able to take our time and really enjoy a lazy afternoon.
