My coffee is coming out too strong for my taste after calibrating (I like light coffee). If I set the calibrate to a higher number, will that maybe dispense less coffee?

Question - Do you have to calibrate this machine with each bag of beans or can you just simply use the grind of 3 and strength setting of 4 ? I tried calibration when I first got my machine about a year ago and for some reason or another the machine tore thru my beans afterwards like a hot knife thru butter.

you're calibration mode is completely wrong. You have to weigh the coffee base not the filter only. Here's the video made by Breville how to calibrate (min 3:20)
